Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

I had to leave one day earlier and they have only charged me one day. I am glad to stay there. Thank you very much. Moreover, residence is very clean, people are kind and helpful.

Tamara, Dusan and Senka where incredible, They do a great job at making you feel very comfortable. they are very engaging with people that stay making this one of or if not the best stay I have had at a hostel. The hostel is kept in great condition and is very central making it convenient to get around Belgrade. would stay here again next time I’m in Serbia. Thank you for the great time.

I met so nice people there,i make some new friends and the people they work there are so helpful.The hostel is a place you feel so comfortable and definetely i want to back to hostel Bongo.

It would be great to have a light above the bed. It would be nice to have a bigger kitchen stove. I missed the longer table, but it wasn't crucial.
Free laundry for me as a person staying 3 nights and more. The hostel is situated within walking distance from the German embassy (which was important for me). Nice guests and very helpful staff.

There are many nice hostels you can find around the world, but Hostel Bongo is truly a rare gem. While the beds are super comfortable, the hostel is extremely clean, and the facilities are excellent, Bongo offers something priceless. The people. Originally planning to stay for only three nights, I quickly discovered that this hostel was more than just a nice roof over my head. It was a haven filled with warmth, camaraderie, and genuine hospitality. So much so that I couldn’t help but extend my stay, several times over. While you can find beautiful sights anywhere, it's the people that truly make a place special, and Hostel Bongo has mastered the art of fostering a welcoming community. I genuinely adored this place, and I can’t recommend staying here enough.

I met a lot of stair on the street on the way to hostel from bus station, so if you carried a big luggage just be prepare for it. The wifi on the basement is not as good as on the 1st floor during my stay and the push button on 1 of the toilet on the basement is broken, luckily i'm aware of it before I use it, so moved to others.
The way to the hostel from bus station is easy to find & follow through google map, the bus stop is also close by. The local fast food, Chines restaurant, groceries, ATM also nearby. The staff let you in and using the common room even before your check in time.

A clean well equipped hostel in a great location right in the city centre but in a quiet courtyard so no noise. Comfy rooms, big lockers. friendly staff and volunteers.

What's not to like.. Super friendly staff,clean rooms, bathrooms and kitchen. A great friendly atmosphere and very central to the city. Probably the best hostel I've stayed in.

incredibly clean, pleasant, and well designed space. The proprietors were very friendly and the people in general were a pleasure to interact with. Furthermore, the hostel is perfectly located in the centre of Belgrade, but the area itself is very quiet and comfortable.

Small hostel, very cozy. Nice beds and bedrooms (no curtains though). Bathrooms/showers clean and functional. Laundry service. Small kitchen, but you can cook (nothing very complex is advised). And the best of all: the staff. You'll feel like a family here.

Colourful and clean hostel with nice facilities. The hostel is well- located in centre of Belgrade. Bed was super comfortable. Wifi connection was pretty good. Would totally recommend staying there!
