Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaBathroom really smelly and musty, wet. I think it was a bit to expensive for what is it. There are others at the same price point that would be better

Hong KongI have thought of extending my stay for 3 more days. Some accidents happened on my first day. I did not witness it but some police gathered in the reception area. A man was hit and run away from the drunk gang (possibly from the floor upstairs). The gang has beaten up the boy from the reception. I don’t know if this is common, but I feel scared and insecure hearing this, so I decidede to extend my stay elsewhere. Maybe this happened randomly, however, I am travelling alone and am getting a little paranoid so thats why I left this neighbourhood.
Good price for a cozy room. Location is fine. The building is very old and there is no lift. The staff helped me to carry the luggage, which is very kind of him. Some guests left early so I can check in earlier. The payment must be in cash, so it’s better to get it ready. Toilet is clean but is always running out of tissue papers. Staff is overall friendly and helpful. I enjoy the whole room by myself, but its better if I can have a small table to put my laptop.

Bulgariathe kitchen is not always clean and the guests dont clean their dishes properly so even when you want to use something from the cupboard its not always well washed. and because of the location its almost always noisy outside, which can be a bit disturbing sometimes.
the location is quite nice and the rooms are pretty much okay, the staff changes daily and theyre usually understanding and helpful.

GermanyWe had a very mixed experience at Hostel M. When we arrived, we wondered about the cheap price just to find out that we had only payed for one night although having booked two. We could stay the initially intended two night eventually, but it was an unpleasant situation. Then, Hostel M told booking.com that we didn't ever arrive at the property, which was the first time that happened to me. Also the price didn't seem to be what it said on booking.com, but maybe the currency change tricked me. We could only pay in cash, which seems to be very common in Belgrade in general, however, but was inconvenient.
We were able to arrive very late (almost midnight) and were still accepted. Thank you very much for that.

GreeceThe pictures don't match the actual rooms and the building itself seems run down on the outside.
The location was good because it was near the centre and having seen other hostels in Belgrade, this one seemed ok.

United KingdomBathrooms were not very clean - especially the sinks. Also it backed on to an empty corridor, almost like the bathroom is a shell (this didn't have any negative impact, but it just looked weird to look out of the bathroom window and see this). Some times the wifi was abysmal, and there are multiple networks; some worked better than others (I only found this out on my final day). It's located in a strange courtyard (up a flight of stairs in the middle), it looked very forboding, especially when I arrived very near to midnight on my first night. A fellow guest reported someone wouldn't let her sit in the courtyard - not sure who owns the place. Pillows were very cylindrical - I am used to them being flatter. Bottom bunk too short to sit upright on, so I had to use a chair. Attracting some irritating guests (who I think were long stay) and kept opening the net curtain - and then we had more mosquitos than guests! Also they rarely washed up - although I don't cook, the sink in the kitchen was always filled with either crockery or food scrapings.
Location was quite good - very near to the bus station, with plenty of restaurants nearby, and plenty of public transport offerings to further places in town. Host was OK, and spoke a little English, and was patient during language difficulties. Also they have a member of staff there 24/7, which was very good in case anyone needed this. Price was cheap. Hostel attracted some world travellers - which made it interesting. Room overall was quite cozy.

FranceNo living area really (one small table in kitchen, one small table outside) Staff controls the AC and you need to ask for it all the time (they only accept to leave it on for an hour or 2 at a time) I might have been unlucky but I had to ask for toilet paper every day Bare minimum in the kitchen to cook/prep meals (no tea towel, no microwave, no drying rack, one stove)
In this case, it really is "you get what you pay for". The hostel is very average and they don't seem to care very much about improving but the location is great! There are big lockers in the dorms which is very handy and there are 2 sockets next to each bed with a little shelf.

AustraliaDo not stay here. Bed bugs. I found them after I left, and messaged this hostel to let them know. They rudely told me I was wrong and I'm the first to say this and that it was mosquitoes. I know this is not true because I worked in a hostel for 3 years (and saw many cases of bed bugs!) and I know it was not mosquitos. There were also other reviews about bed bugs so I know I am not the first. A further message from me went unanswered. Reception guy also was watching tv very loudly at 6am which woke us up.
First reception guy was ok and location is ok
