Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

ItalyThe à-la-carte breakfast took a bit too long to prepare, that is more than 20 minutes, even with very few guests in the breakfast room.
The hotel is located in the middle of the Fortress that overlooks Novi Sad from the opposite bank of the Danube river. Getting to the city center is easy and it only requires 20 minutes by walk, basically just crossing one bridge. The view from my room was stunning. From the outside the hotel looks majestic, and the inside is luxurious. I had breakfast both buffet and à-la-carte, both options with excellent results. The hotel also offers a (paid) shuttle service to/from the airport, which worked smoothly.

NetherlandsMy family had suite and it was fine but my room was cramped - too much furniture for small space. Also bathroom was small. I don't think that someone with longer legs could sit at the toilette :) Breakfast was kind of boring. I am sure that in Vojvodina with all the local specialties it can do much better.
It is a beautiful new/old hotel. Beautifully decorated, on a beautiful place, top of the fortress, view on the river and Novi Sad. Really nice. Staff is very nice. Close proximity to a very good restaurant on the fortress (discount for the guests).

IndiaThe beds were too soft and the rooms a little cramped. All in all I got the sense that the decor in the details could have been a little more tasteful.
The location atop the fortress, the spread for breakfast and the service were all excellent.

United KingdomThe hotel is all about the location, the history of the building and maintaining that historical style, so you have to forgive minor shortcomings where modern life doesn't quite fit in e.g. lack of any available usable power sockets in the room and uncomfortable seating. It's probably also worth me pointing out that I had a Junior Suite in which the bed is not of modern length. I'm only about 1.8 metres tall and my feet reached the end bed frame - just a warning to any taller people (I'm sure there are longer beds in other rooms). Breakfast wasn't great. Anything that should be hot I would describe as tepid, even the hot water.
Plenty of parking space right in front of the hotel, once you've fought your way past all the tourists trying to park in the limited public spaces!

RomaniaPoor quality breakfast - haven’t had such quality for quite some time, especially if you compare it with the price I paid (accommodation is getting outrageously expensive during Novi Sad Fair. Furniture and everything in the hotel feels very dated and hence doesn’t feel clean
It is in a quiet location

I had high expectations of this hotel however it was quite mediocre with decor needing a refresh. My room was quite cluttered with fussy detail that got in my way. Breakfast was particularly uninspiring. The staff on reception were every pleasant & the location was stunning.

SerbiaThere was maintenance work ongoing inside the fortress and this made it extremely difficult to access the hotel. The hotel did not make any attempt to inform us of these difficulties. Ideally, they should shut down if they cannot arrange for guests to reach the hotel from the parking lot. The room descriptions are also misleading. The room was stated to have 2 Bathrooms but it’s hardly the case. Both the bathrooms together probably constitute one
The location of the property is very good, located inside the fort. This makes it ideal to explore the grounds when the tourist crowds dwindle

United KingdomHave stayed here previously and was very happy. This time the hotel was hosting a party and some guests were making considerable noise in the hotel until 5:00am! Having used this hotel as a stopover driving from the UK to Bulgaria I was not impressed being kept awake most of the night.
Nice hotel and good location - but see below

United KingdomWe stayed two nights in the hotel as part of our honeymoon trip in Serbia. We don’t feel relaxed at the hotel at all but very frustrating and stressful. 1. At check in, we have been told that we have to pay €30 to use the hotel’s spa centre. Furthermore, we have to book it at least 24 hours beforehand and could only use the facilities for maximum of 2 hours. The hotel listing on booking.com does not include such important details and we were not notified about this before check in. 2. There is only one workable socket near the bed where the air conditioning (AC) is plugged into. We had to unplug the AC in order to charge our phones. Novi Sad was 33-35 degrees and the room was so hot without AC even with the window open. When I made the complaint when we checked out, the Front Office Manager told me that she expected me to know that there would be a plug behind the TV cabinet and next to the bathroom. To use the plug behind the TV cabinet, I had to move the heavy cabinet and unplug the TV, then sitting on the edge of the bed or a chair to charge my phone? Or sit next to the bathroom to charge my phone? Either without AC or without TV? I can only do one thing in the room at one time? This is ridiculous! (see photo evidences uploaded) 3. The hotel does not provide an iron and ironing board. They only provide ironing services at additional costs which means we had to forecast the weather and plan what to wear beforehand. How convenient? 4. We asked the hotel to call a taxi. We were told it would take about 15 minutes so we could walk around in the meanwhile. The receptionist did not let us know that the taxi arrived. When I complained, the Front Office Manager told me that I should be standing in the front door waiting for the taxi not walking around. The receptionist was doing me a favour for calling us a taxi. This is the basic service any hotel should offer, since when it becomes a favour? Ridiculous! 5. At check out, I made a formal complaint.
The view from the room is good though there is a layer of safety net which means your view is somewhat blocked.

United StatesVery disappointing. We stayed here first time few ears ago and the place went downhill since then. there is no heating throughout the property even though the outside temperature hits below 10 degrees. only booked rooms have electrical heaters with the cable that goes across the room and in front of the bathroom door, that makes perfect tripping hazard. Pests in the bathroom and layers of dust around bed. There are no outlets in the room to charge your phone or laptop. Lamps behind the bed are wired straight into the wall. The only outlet is used for tv and its located behind it. No bellman or anyone to help with your luggage. Guests load and unload their luggage as well as taking it upstairs-literally up the stairs because elevator is super tiny. We communicated these issues with the management day 1 and nothing was done. I wanted to switch hotels but since we were staying inly 2 nights it would be waste of limited time we had in this town. I was hoping that somehow management will be able to resolve this but nothing happened. Breakfast as also changed and no updates or changes were posted on Booking.com listing for this property. it would be nice to communicate that there is no heating on the property at least!!!! hallways were freezing as well as dining room and lobby. Hotel is located on a landmark which obviously gives them room to be arrogant but won’t last much longer, considering that the building facade is literally falling out. Spare yourself and stay at new and much more comfortable hotels in city center. I would recommend Pupin Hotel.
