We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomI thought the price at Euro 420 per night was expensive.
The hotel is in a lovely location, the rooms are spacious and the staff are kind and friendly. I was particularly impressed with chef. The dinners were excellent!

FranceSeychelles is too expensive for the quality of the stay, food is not so great but expensive, hotels are not always as good as expected (for the price again).
The staff was very nice and convenient (they did arrange taxi transfers very well). The island is great but this is incredibly expensive for what it is...

Slovakia- service for breakfast and dinners was slow (we were the only one at the restaurant and it took 45 minutes to get an omelette and egg benedict, which was annoying as we had scheduled boat trip with tight departure) - poor and unstable wifi connection
- big and comfortable room, very peaceful and relaxing hotel (10 rooms only) - honeymoon gift (bottle of champagne and fruit platter) - free transfer from/to the jetty, as well as to the beach (we stayed at Dhevatara during monsoon season, therefore there was a lot of seaweeds on the hotel beach)

the staff made the stay so special. they were very accommodating, welcoming and went out of their way to make our stay special. the room was big and comfortable and with only 10 rooms, never chaotic. it was very relaxing

United Arab EmiratesRooms could do with some tlc. The bathroom ventilation isn’t good and was very warm. The glass panels are quite random and don’t fit the setting really. A good hotel but not great value for money.
Staff were wonderful and incredibly friendly throughout. A lovely sea view from the room and a decent breakfast.

United KingdomI would not normally write such a review, but on this occasion I felt like the experience was so poor and different from what was advertised and charged at a high price that it required an honest review to warn others. We stayed at Dhevatara for 4 nights. From the moment we checked in we had a very unfriendly welcome, no smile, no hospitality from check in start to finish. Definitely not what you expect considering the high price paid and especially for a ‘small boutique hotel’. There was only one lady running the whole check in process on arrival, then covering dinner service, plus the bar service the whole evening. Speaking of food, if you wish to place a food order please be prepared to wait 3 business days to receive your food. Especially at breakfast (bring a newspaper to read), the service was extremely slow. On top of this, the waitress had offered us that there would be the possibility to order some Gluten Free bread for my Coeliac partner the next day, provided we inform them. Each day we kindly asked if they would honor what they originally offered and each morning they forgot, in the end we gave up. Please do not offer options which never materialise. The speed of service was so slow, you could see many guests also getting frustrated each morning. I would also like to mention each morning we ordered fruit, yoghurt and cornflakes, something which shouldn’t take long to prepare. Eventually when we did receive our food, please be aware, it looks nothing like the picture’s advertised. The burger was so uncooked we had to send back to the kitchen (request well done) and their French toast was burnt in the morning. The pool is extremely murky and full of debris at the bottom when swimming in, to the extent you cannot see the bottom (slimy). It needs a good clean. In the room, i was unable to use the kettle to boil water as it was brown and rotten inside and there were stains on the towels.

South AfricaLove the tranquility at the hotel. The hotel is a walking distance from the best restaurants that we managed to try out while we were there. The staff at the hotel were very attentive, warm, and accommodating to our request. We thoroughly enjoyed out anniversary trip. The food was amazing, especially loved the breakfast spread with different choices to indulge in.

SwitzerlandUnfortunately on the other hand, the second receptionist was unprofessional and rude to us and the staff, which was embarrassing for a 5-star hotel. Dinner service was painfully slow, taking 1 hour for the starter and a whopping 2.5 hours for a three-course meal. The food quality didn't quite meet the expected standard. The hotel was not in an optimal position and beach was full of seaweeds.
The room was nice and clean. One receptionist was really kind and helpful, and the rest of the staff, including the cleaning guy, were nice and professional. Also the breakfast was good and the service was efficient. The taxi driver was kind with us.

FranceIt might be a little bit expensive but still worth it.
We had an amazing stay at Dhevatara. The room was perfect, the pool is fantastic, you can access the beach very easily and while there are a few algae it's not really an issue. The staff is nice and welcoming, and it was a great experience to stay there. Also, you have a lot of small takeaway restaurants nearby that you can walk to, which is nice if you want to experience a little bit more of the local life of the island.

NorwayI don’t think this is the hotels problem/fault, but there were a lot of mosquitoes in the evenings at the hotel. We haven’t experienced the same in La Digue or Mahe. My girlfriend was hardly bitten, unfortunately I wasn’t as lucky. Pack your repellent! watch out for rays in the shallows of the water.
Relaxing atmosphere. great style and architecture. good food. great service. Beautiful long beach, best swimming at the airport end. Pool is clean and hardly used.

PolandBeach was not great to swim, a lot of seaweed in the November period. Very nice to walk though, specially sunset Though food was great, it took a lot of time to wait to get food, dinners normally lasted 2 hours, breakfasts minimum an hour, seemed a waste of time to spend 3 hours in the restaurant Location is not the best in the island, just convenient from close to airport but not much really in surrounding, you need some transport to see the good spots
Very nice and helpful staff Very nice and comfortable room Very calm area Great swimming pool Very nice food
