Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Absolutely fantastic bathroom and bed, every appliance you could need including a safe, iron, fan and stocked fridge. Agreeable room service, a smart TV and lots of pillows and blankets. The bathroom was wonderful too.

SingaporeThe room lighting was quite cozy but the desk could do with a better desk light for better visibility instead of a lamp.
Excellent service in a heritage hotel. Great hospitality by service staff and warm and welcoming ambience. Rooms were clean and neat. I was quite pleased with the ambience of the hotel room. Breakfast was excellent, especially dining in the sun room whereby there was a good balance between the old and new. This is definitely a location I will bring my family on leisure trips. It was also quite a Child-friendly location.

United KingdomShower room: shower curtain too short and no shower tray so the whole bathroom got soaked during and after shower. Very narrow space (60-70cm ?) between wall and shower curtain so the curtain stuck to your body. Rail for shower head too high for me (155cm tall). System for shower head angling meant you could not stop the water hitting the curtain and making flooding worse. Had to use floor mat and the one hand towel provided to dam/ soak up the water but you still got wet feet and socks every time you used the bathroom after showering 🙁 Clothes storage: only 4 hangers for 2 people - it was winter so one each was needed to hang up our coats to dry which left one hanger each for all other clothes. The wardrobe also already contained a full-size ironing board, a fan and a heater - the only other storage space was a set of adjacent shelves but every shelf was already in use (safe, fridge, iron, hairdryer, cups, snacks, plastic bags). Where are you supposed to store clothes,?? Parking: we enquired about parking before arriving and were told that the hotel did have a car park. On arrival we paid for space in the car park but were not told that it is actually a handful of spaces within the car park of what looked like a church in the next street (no sign in the car park or at the entrance to announce any connection with any hotel). It was really frustrating driving in the dark on unfamiliar icey roads and traffic restrictions around the huge hotel building, trying to find the entrance to something that didn't exist... then having to find somewhere to pull up without blocking other drivers and then go back into the hotel for guidance 🙁
Location first class. Breakfast - food and room excellent. Public places impressive. Staff very helpful and welcoming. Heating very efficient.

United KingdomReally grand hotel close to the centre of town. You are greeted in a grand entrance hall by friendly, bilingual staff. The rooms are accessed by two lifts at the far end of the hotel by the rear stairwell or an elegant stairway by reception. The rooms are clean and well kept. They may not be the most modern in style but have everything you could need, and they fit in very well with the style of the building. Some rooms have a view of the river, which in winter is a lovely sight to wake up to. There is a secure car park very close by, about a 2 minute walk, and an open car park even closer. The large breakfast room is very much of its time and could be refurbished while retaining it period features. There are multiple breakfast options to suit all tastes. The orange juice and coffee were very nice. The only downside was that the scrambled eggs and bacon were lukewarm to cold. I stayed here last year and don't remember this before, so maybe it was a one-off bad luck. One other small issue was that there are a lot of lamps and not a master light switch by the bed. I found you had to go around the room, turning off about 5 light switches. It's not a big problem, but one that I've found other hotels resolve with one switch by the bed.

GermanyThis was our second stay and we were again not disappointed. The hotel has so much character and reflects the Grand hotel of times long past. The rooms are modern with comfy beds and marble bathrooms. The staff is very pleasant and friendly. This time, as it was Sunday, the restaurant was closed but the staff gave us a wonderful recommendation around the corner from the hotel and we enjoyed it so much. The breakfast, as we knew, left nothing to be desired.
