Location and price are really convenient. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We received fresh clean towels and water every day.

The location was great but further than we wanted to be from the cbd. A beautiful neighbourhood though, historically interesting. Would have liked a slightly bigger space for two friends sharing a twin room. Shower curtain would be great for bathrooms aswell

Walls were paper thin and we were woken through the night by lots of noisy residents. Had to call reception during the night at one point to break up a loud argument in the hall right outside our door. Excellent shower over bath but no shower curtain or screen so bathroom floor got very wet

Great location near lots of bars and restaurants. Cheap for Singapore (£55 for one night) and staff very friendly

Location was perfect - walkable local area. I stayed for a 2 night stopover before journeying off to another country. The room was simple & sufficient for the price, it was all I needed - it’s not a 5 start hotel so keep your expectations low. I felt comfortable & safe. The staff was helpful & friendly (the lady at night & the man in the mornings - didn’t get their names, I’m sorry) - offering water bottles (although I try not to use single use plastic often) & were able to print out travel documents for me which I’m very grateful for!! Room cleaning was not needed in between 2 days, but the gentleman doing the housekeeping did a lovely job!

It was cheap and basic, but clean and easily accessible via bus. The area is nice, feels a lot like inner Melbourne. It seems like its right on the border of a "seedy" area and a more up-market area. So there are bars open at night and cafes in the morning, with pet grooming through the day! Lots of hipsters walking poodles! It was advertised as having no window but I found that my room had a window (shuttered on the button half) behind a very large curtain, so that was a nice surprise, natural light. I guess they hid it so that they can sell all of the rooms at the same rate? If other Hotel 81 locations are kept the same way then it'd be pretty hard to go wrong

Small but clean rooms. Staff also friendly. Hotel has 3 different bus stops nearby, good connectivity with the downtown. Plenty of eating options within walking distance. Provides electric kettle, coffee, tea, hair dryer and water bottles in the room.

the room had no window, matress was way to hard and pillows too thin. Bathroom was the worst the shower head pointed outside the tub and there was no shower curtain so that whole bathroom got wet, the toilet paper could be better too instead of separate mini pieces

it’s a budget hotel so the drawbacks were to be expected. no window in the room, hotel smelled musty and walls were thin.
