Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

PhilippinesExpect noise from bunkmates (packing, door opening, snoring, etc). Make sure to prepare noise-canceling earbuds/plugs to enjoy your stay. (If you are very particular with privacy and almost total silence, a hostel experience might not be for you)
Wonderful location. Close to hawker centres, MRT, Chinatown historical sites. Quiet area (no outside noise). It has everything you need for a budget-friendly and comfortable few nights' stay in Singapore.

GermanyIt took me about 20 minutes to find the entrance to the actual hostel in a very confusing building, so a few more signs would be helpful.
Centrally located in Chinatown, the CSW hostel provided exactly what I needed for my overnight transfer in Singapore. It provides the bare minimum in a very compact space. I stayed in a shared mixed bedroom and barely noticed any of the other guests. Beds are comfortable and equipped with a reading light, a socket and a curtain. It's right next to a hawker center, which is superb for a local breakfast. Only a relatively short walk away from Marina Bay and Boat Quay, I got the most out of the few hours I had.

SpainThe walls are very very thin so you can hear literally anything from the neighbours, I would recommend bringing good earplugs.
Everything was extremely clean, and beds were comfortable and the host is super super nice and makes sure you are comfortable :) You have everything needed and the location is very good.

TurkeyPerfect location ! 🙌 One of the cheapest hostel in Singapore. Everything was very clean during my stay. Bad point there is just one shower and one toilet for two rooms (for approximately 16pers I think). No common area. So if you just want to find a clean and cheap place to sleep with good location that's perfect 👍

United StatesOne toilet and one shower for 14 beds. Fortunately hostel wasn't full during my stay. Only area to hang out is on balcony which would be OK if people were not allowed to smoke there.
Typical Chinatown hostel with small dorm rooms. Beds had privacy curtains, reading light. Barely 2 minutes walk from Maxwell MRT but can be hard to find. Take exit #3. Facing large parking lot ( for tour buses) and Buddha Tooth temple, turn left on sidewalk, walk 50 meters towards 21 storey white apartment (not #333). Sidewalks takes you to stairs, go up one flight, turn right and walk halfway along balcony to hostel. Don't be confused by banner for CWS hostel hanging off balcony on front side of apartment building. Hostel is on back side, which makes it quiet as it isn't on main street with traffic. Good location for Chinatown, metro and walking to other neighborhoods of Singapore. Small fridge usable as few people put food in it. Lady running hostel is very nice.

CanadaThe little place to eat should have a little sink to wash dishes and hands instead of bringing them to the toilet sink.
The location: right at the heart of Chinatown. Close to shops and places to eat/ buy food. It was Chinese New Year and the lady caretaker served us free breakfast and good coffee. We loved it.

United KingdomOnly one toilet and shower shared between two rooms (could be up to 12 people). But didn’t cause much of an inconvenience due to not many people staying.
Great location near a tube station and hawker centre. Not far to the centre if you choose to walk. Very clean, cool and quiet for a few days stay.

Czech RepublicThe thin wall doesn't provide barrier against the noise from outside, but luckily the street is not too busy. There is not sink in the kitchen, so you have to wash your dishes in the restroom. Only one toilet and one shower to cover two dorm rooms. It took me a while to find it, google maps doesn't cooperate well.
The room was clean, there are curtains on the beds giving you privacy. There is drinking water, so you don't have to buy it. The staff was very nice and helpful. It's surprising, how cosy it is despite very little space.

United KingdomIt was very basic and because it was F1 weekend it ended up being really expensive for the facilities. If you’re paying a cheap rate you can’t really complain.
The property was in such a good location. They were constantly cleaning the bathroom and was overall very clean. They also gave me a free t-shirt which was a very nice touch.
