Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaThere should be 2 chairs in a room so 1 person doesn't have to sit on the bed. Given 2 instant coffee sachets for a 2 night stay was tight. Yes I was given 2 more when I asked but I shouldn't need to ask.
The location was great. Near arab quarter food outlets and with 2 7Eleven stores nearby for reliable, safe snacks. Quiet, cool large rooms.

GermanyOne can tell that the last renovation has been while ago. It still meets all the standards, but some furniture and facilities could need a refresher.
The Sultan is an excellent place to stay when being in Singapore. It's a classy option in a shophouse-style building, which nicely resembles the architecture in that area. The staff was very friendly and attentive. I stayed in two different rooms with two different bookings and can tell, its worth booking the deluxe room. It was spacious and stylish and had a nice view to the back alley. The place feels safe and the location is unique, also good to explore the city.

Located near several MRT stations and many cafes and restaurants, The Sultan is well situated in Kampong Glam. It is clean, the staff are friendly & helpful (they recommended several good places to eat) and the rooms well equipped & spacious.

SpainThe rooms near the street in the first floor are pretty noisy. The housekeeping service doesn't clean really deep and, found leftovers of previous people in the room.
Amazing location, with many restaurants and coffee places around. Subway is really close and several bus stops around. The hotel is really beautiful building because it is an heritage building.

PhilippinesOur room was beside the street so could hear people and cars passing by. The way to the room can be flooded when there's rain.

NetherlandsOur room (136) was noisy, because the doors on the street side are not closing very well. Also noise from the upper rooms can be heard. Ear plugs solved these issues. WiFi speed and connection was depending on the amount of users
Friendly staff, good shower, good bed, metro on walking distance and bus stop before the hotel,, looked recently renovated, supermarket and restaurants close by

United KingdomI was a little shocked by the small size of my room! basically you open a door and the bed is right in front, you can only take 3 steps inside. the bed is up on a platform so you can’t walk around it either. it would be a bit cramped for more than one person. also there was a slight smell of mould when I entered the room and I saw some mould on the bathroom ceiling. Tine for 1 night any more would have been claustrophobic. I think the price should be lower to reflect the tiny room size.
lovely building, well located and nice staff. free water and drinks in the minibar wa Sa bonus and the shower was fantastic.

AustraliaIt was dusty in places, such as the surface of the doors. Although we had a window, it was basically sealed shut and we could hardly get any light into the room. This bothered me. We were towards the back of the building so it wasn't too noisy, but if you are sensitive to noise, I would suggest requesting a room away from the street front as it would be noisy at night.
The staff were friendly and the room was mostly cleaned well.

AustraliaOnly Minor things: Not their fault but due to the heavy rain we had a leaking ceiling a couple of nights. They got maintenance on to it straight away each time. More small towels would be good.
Fantastic location. Easy walking to two MRT stations and right in the heart of Kampong Glam. Bed was comfy, room good size, shower pressure was really good. We got complimentary minibar for the first day. Like the fact it is not a 'cookie cutter' hotel. Staff courteous.

United Kingdomhotel room gets cleaned every 2 days which wasn’t mentioned at the check-in. Furthermore, the water was cold the whole stay. We mentioned it on the first day to reception and we were told that everything was fixed. the water was still cold afterwards but we didn’t want to be fussy about it. We were on the ground floor and could hear literally everything from outside. We had to purchase earplugs for the remaining days.
