A good place to stay in Solkan. It is very close to the Solkan bridge. The facilities were good as well. Nika was very helpful and friendly.

The way you need to lock the outside door was a bit confusing to me at first. A graphic explaining the process (like is present in other areas of the hostel) might be helpful. While the mattress I found comfortable, the pillow was rather big for me. I figured out a way to make it fit my neck by jamming my shoulder into it, but the first night I didn't sleep too well due to it. Ventilation in room 4 could be a bit better than just the one window (although overall it was fine). Overall, not much negative to say. Definitely the best hostel experience I've had so far!

The facilities are very clean and well-maintained. While it's clearly meant to be a hostel, the common areas are also rather stylish and pleasant to be in, with books to read and board games to pass the time. The organization and is also great, with clear instructions next to appliances and such. The owner and staff are very kind and full of information about the local area, and there are also plenty of maps and other reading material about local events available in the common area. The area around the hostel has a few bakeries and shops, and there's a few bus stations near that take you to the center of town, as well as a train station (note - the google maps location of the train station isn't quite right! It's actually under where the buses turn around). Other than the occasional train and minor noise coming from a nearby workshop, the area is very quiet. Every bed has an assigned place on the food shelf in the kitchen, and a locker with a key inside the rooms. The mattresses are comfortable and there's a privacy curtain on the beds, as well as a reading light. You can also turn off the main room light from your bed.

Lovely design and layout of the place. It feels in a way like being at home and at the same time a warehouse communal space! Cannot fault the place!

The pillow was too big for me, so not comfy, my maybe other people like this size of pillows. It would be nice to have curtains on the window in the room.

It it one of the best hostels I ever been! 1. Curtain making my privacy (at least on my bed), there were beds without curtains. 2. I had a local lamp (it's very comfortable) 3. I had electric outlet, which is necessity. And a button to turn off the big light in the room(!) I never saw it in another hostels. It's very useful:) 4. The kitchen is big and welcoming! Looks perfect, and there's everything you need. 5. I liked that toilets and showers are not in the room and separated.

Sometimes, the train noises can be interrupting since it is near to the railway but thats just a minor complaint.

The hostel looks very clean and comfortable. Location wise, it is a bit far away from the center (30 minutes walk from the bus station) but it is very close to the Solkan River if you’re going for a hike or cycling if you’re into that. The self serving instructions to the hostel were clear as well.

No key for the room. Although we booked the whole room, as it's a dormitory the door had no lock.

The doors are too fast to close and they're really finicky, sometimes they make a booming sound and sometimes they're as quiet as mice. The key locker at the front has a flaw in my opinion, where if you don't shuffle the numbers it sometimes looks as if it's closed but it's not really. I closed it properly but there may be a risk in the future.

Despite my little mistakes regarding what I could and couldn't touch, I believe I settled in quite alright. My one night stay was comfortable and my breakfast was nice (bread and marmalade from the hostel provided food). Bed was clean, lights were pleasant and well placed, all of my stuff felt nice and protected from any thieves. The staff was friendly too and I hope I didn't make much of a hassle for my 1 night stay.

A very well thought out and setup hostel. It has literally everything you could need for your stay. Nice kitchen, big lockers and power sockets beside each bed. The owner is very friendly and knowledgable about the area as well which is a big plus. Would have loved to stay longer!

the family room was clean, nice, with air conditioning, the shared bathroom was comfortable and well ventilated. Kitchen well equipped. There was a place to park. Our 6-year-old son, who was in the hostel for the first time, liked it :)

There's no late night shops or bars in the area so if you need eat bring something to make yourself in the kitchen.

Just need a place to stay for one night and this was perfect. Very clean hostel, very friendly staff, easy check in and check out. Bed was comfy, room was quiet had a good nights sleep.
