The access track, which was very irregular and muddy. It definitely needs to be repaired and paved at least with stones.

A beautiful property but one that needs some attention

Accident prone - floods in kitchen and bathroom power cuts, no gas, wifi not working, access to budging almost impossible in heavy rain. Out of 4 full days we spent 3 sorting out issues which ruined our holiday

I would like to have given this property a 9 as it is a beautiful building and we were privileged to have the property all to ourselves. However too many things went wrong, some of which could have been avoided. First of all the caretaker Santos, AKA Pequenio, was responsive, worked hard, and tried his best and must have been irritated as much as we were to be called out to solve issues especially as each visit meant him travelling down a very rough track. Do not rely on the wifi. it took us 3 days to work out how to use it. Santos bought a booster which we found through trial and error worked in only one place in the property which was in a different location from where it needed to be charged. I was hoping to have my weekly work call but this was impossible- in the other 2 properties I stayed in on S&T the wifi worked well enough for me to have those meetings. There was a power cut which the electrician said was due to rain getting in to the outside lights and fusing the system. After one meal there was no gas. The cleaner immediately saw the bottle was empty. All the above three issues could have been avoided if checks had have been made beforehand. From the looks of the coffee grains left in the machine, nobody had stayed at the property for quite a while. When the gas bottle was replaced the water system was damaged meaning that we awoke the next morning to a flooded kitchen. Also as per previous comments the bathroom layout was dysfunctional - a jacuzzi in a small bathroom which leaked and left the bathroom floor constantly wet and which couldnt be fixed. On the subject of the track to the building 15-20 mins walk to the road is if conditions are dry. After a shopping trip during three hours heavy rain it took us around one hour to carry our bags back to the house through the quagmire. Not sure how easy it would be to drive to the property under such conditions. On the last day once the issues were finally fixed we had an idyllic time.

Terrible access roads - Only for 4x4 vehicles. We slept in darkness because the generator was faulty. Wierd bathroom design. Lowa water pressure in bathroom

Private beach, lovely love nest. Ideal location for a group getaway trip. Clean house. Privacy guaranteed. Soft sheets

Make sure you organize a pick up at the airport through the guesthouse, as nobody on the islands seems to know the place. The drive is hectic, but worth it. They could feed the dogs a bit more, they seem to be a bit left on their own.

What a house! My mom and I were the only ones staying at the house most of the time, and it was fabulous. It is right AT the beach, gorgeous views and with a fully equiped kitchen. Pay attention: there is NO restaurant at the guesthouse, neither is there a supermarket close by. The road to the house is horrible, but it is worth it. Two lovely doggos who were so friendly. The guys working there also very friendly, as well the cleaning ladies. They took us to the supermarket for free to buy food for ourselves and even a free pick up and drop off to the airport. It is possible to organize rental cars/tours and so on through them.

The access road is about 3km of a very rocky road, fortunately we had a RAV4 Toyota and Google maps sends you through an inexistent road, need to call in for guidance. There were some water leaks on the house.

Waking up to a Ocean sun rise, no-one arround. The manager held our bag while we went to Príncipe Island. Remote but still very close to town.

When we were there the water pressure in the shower and sink was very low and needed repair. Ask if it functions well when you book.

The house is in an absolutely quiet, secluded location only 3 km from the airport terminal on a bay. The equipment is as described. However, it is absolutely necessary to use the host's pick-up service because you can only reach the house with a large 4x4 off-road vehicle (a Susuki Jimmi is not sufficient). For us, everything worked out perfectly, the driver named Pequeno and Álvaro (speaks a little French) picked us up from the airport and we did some shopping at the supermarket before we were brought to the guesthouse. You can also book meals. Álvaro is an excellent cook. From the house you can also walk along the beach to Micolo which takes about 30 minutes. There you can eat fish and octopus very cheaply in the restaurant (between 50 and 100 Dobras approx. 2 - 4 €).

We wanted nature and a beach option within walking distance. The shopping and dining options nearby were suitable for us with 3 km walk (one way). To drive into the city, it is about a 20-minute walk through the backland to the road where the yellow taxis drive at regular intervals. The way to the house is only for experienced off-road vehicle drivers and despite the polite warnings here, it exceeded our expectations :D Our recommendation: Request a pick-up service for arrival/departure and buy the first important things in the supermarket when you arrive. The rest can be obtained in the villages. Our room was spacious and had its own bathroom. There was a common area (lounge/couches/dining area) and a kitchen. All rooms were clean and well maintained. Cleaning staff came regularly. Everyone is very polite and accommodating. We felt richly gifted, as there are other beaches very close (only few steps through the hedge). In addition, there are fantastic shopping facilities (fruit/vegetables, beer, fresh fish) in Mikolo but also street restaurants to buy fresh fish, octopus, mussels. The fishing village of Mikolo is well known on the island. Since the designated restaurants on googlemaps only open after 6 p.m., they were not really an option for us. We did not find the footpaths in the dark desirable. Except for a few days we were alone in the accommodation. The house dog is very sweet and always hungry 😊 (I was shockingly in love and there was daily morning exercise together at sunrise). We highly recommend this accommodation for a longer stay. Portuguese/French are very welcome & helpful.

This is the perfect place to chill and be completely connected with nature and the beach. The house is big and nice, with a "private beach" just few steps down from the house. We stayed in a big room with private bathroom. The way to get there is complicated due to the rocky road, but the owners take you from and to the airport with a specific car for that kind of roads; also, they already have a plan to renew the road that will start during the first months of 2024, so that will be no problem anymore :) There is a guard during the night and the owners are very flexible with the transport, they are all super nice. To make the experience even better, we found 5 puppies from one of the two dogs that apparently live in the surroundings of the house, which was just perfect. We will be back!

The best aparthouse on the island, with virtually private beach and pier. Spacy and cozy, with big saloon and kitchen. Only 15 minutes on foot to the road, where You can catch collective buses. Only 30 minutes on foot to the Airport terminal. Our host was very helpful, he could arrange car transport if You don't like walking.

The path to the house is too bad for regular car (and maybe also for 4x4 if you are not experienced driver). For us this was not a problem as we walked there (10-minutes walk from the house to the road with minibuses), also, the host offered us a transport from/to the airport. However, if you rent a car, it might be difficult for you to drive there.

It's a very big house: bedroom with private bathroom, living room, fully equiped kitchen, terrace and a beach. And we were there alone (with two lovely dogs). The house is so comfortable that we stayed longer than we planned. We bought all food we needed in a big supermarket in Sao Tome city. It's ideal place for independent travelers. Communication with the host was very good, we were taken from and to the airport, the house was guarded at nights. We felt very safe during all our journey..
