Overall is wonderful, housekeeping staff are very nice. I stay at this property every month and very happy. However, I found some area to improve i.e. shower water pressure should be stronger, hot water is too hot and can’t control properly, one of aircon in dorm was not working (only on my last day).

Breakfast has barely any options. Everything is quite open so you’re outside if you need to go to the bathroom. Location is a bit out of the centre and very quiet (15min walk)

The curtain is see through white, there’s really no privacy. The bathroom has 2 shower and 2 toilet for women in our floor, wish it can be more to lessen waiting time. The bed is hard for me.

Some youngsters don’t respect the sleep of others but I completely get it as we were all young once, so all good.

Unfortunately the hostel was overbooked for one night and I was told this when I arrived. I would have liked to have been told beforehand so that I could decide whether to cancel the whole booking and find another hostel.

- Bed curtains are transparent - not a deal breaker for me but a darker colour could help give more privacy - Shower doors in the women’s washroom are also transparent. Thankfully blurry but you can definitely see through them regardless. - washrooms could be cleaned and restocked a little more frequently given how many are staying there

This place is a total gem! - great bed pods. Comfortable and spacious - quiet doors that don’t slam - a lot of comfortable social spaces to hangout - free water/coffee 24/7 - breakfast is simple but it’s free so no complaints here! - laundry machine on site and space to dry - super close to the Saturday night market and walking distance to the nightly bazaar

While my stay at Baan Mai Kradan Hostel was truly enjoyable, there is always room for small improvements. One thing that could have been better was the availability of paper towels in the bathroom, which would have added extra convenience for guests. Additionally, having more hooks or shelves in the shower area to keep toiletries, towels, and fresh clothes separately would have been a nice touch. That being said, these were minor aspects compared to the overall wonderful experience. The hostel’s cleanliness, comfort, and vibrant atmosphere still made it a fantastic place to stay!

Baan Mai Kradan Hostel in Chiang Rai offers a truly unique and vibrant atmosphere, making the stay memorable. The hotel is absolutely spotless, incredibly beautiful and the energy in it is relaxed and kind of artsy. ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT. Breakfast is very simple but if you book a room you get like a special one to be cooked for you that is very good. Location is great and is very peaceful during the night. Loads of young proffesionals or backpackers or people remote working. Very good athmosphere.

Annoying that the biggest common room closes at 9pm, but I understand it is so it remains clean before breakfast, and there are other spaces to be in which is nice. The other travelers in my room never locked the door which I didn't like, but that is not the hostel's fault.

This hostel was SO NICE!! So many common spaces, a relaxing yard, a rooftop to hang out on. The beds had so much space on either side to set your things (a common frustration of mine in dorms is the lack of bedside space), and the lockers were big enough to fit an open suitcase which was super great.

This is one of the best hostels I have ever stayed in (and I have stayed in many)! Super friendly staff, modern and clean, well thought through with many little details that make a backpackers life easier, nice common areas with a garden, freshly brewed coffee in the morning! I booked a scooter through reception and it was promptly delivered to the hostel for a good price. This really is a little gem!
