Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The hostel had a lovely, welcoming atmosphere from the moment I checked in. The staff are exceptional - always willing to help and they make a point of remembering your name to greet you every time they see you, which I hadn’t experienced in any hostel previously. Perfect location too - I’d happily stay again.

It was all good. A little distant from the main sights but all good otherwise.
The best staff ever. She bakes the best cookies and banana bread and what not!! If you’re taking the bus to CR you can literally walk to this place.

Everything was exceptional from the time I arrived until I left. The owners are so friendly and very helpful especially for helping me to rent a scooter and the places where are more enjoyable. Perfect location. 1 minute from bus station and 1 minute to the night market. I will definitely be back and I highly recommend this place when you come to Chiang Rai.

Awesome location, bus station and market are 2 and 5min walk. Staff are very friendly and will accommodate to make sure your stay is as good as possible. In house laundry, free coffee, tea and even some snacks. Sells beer and water too

Clean, lovely atmosphere, Apple (owner) is soooo helpful and delightful. A complete one stop shop for discovering Chiang Rai or taking the slow boat. Delightful. Oh and the location is fantastic.

The most comfortable hostel I have stayed in Thailand The owner is really nice and will help you out any time Plus, it is placed besides the bus terminal station which is a nice bonus You can rent motorbike from the hostel directly

I know it’s east Asia, but to have to keep the shoes outside is annoying. Also the dorm rooms felt a little bit cramped. You only get a locker in the lobby near the reception.
The cleanest dorms I’ve stayed in. They keep the place clean and tidy all day, not one or two times a day. And make sure it smells good. Strong wifi and Free coffee stand with cakes! Location is just around the night market!

Couple more showers upstairs would be ideal.
Lovely host. Very helpful and friendly speaks great English. Really tidy comfy bedroom. Clearly a lot of love and care has gone into the hostel.

The owners and Som made my stay. I loved talking to them and they are the reason that I stayed 1.5 months. The hostel is well located next to the bus station and imo Thailand's best cook is just around the corner (Mheewok). Their scooter rental partner is trustworthy and flexible.

Would be great to introduce some sort of shelves or baskets by the beds, esp on the upper bunks.
Excellent hostel - very nicely thought out amenities and logistics. One of the few I’ve seen with signs asking not to slam doors, so it’s nice and quiet. The lady who works there baked cookies/brownies, which was extra nice :) location is perfect for Chiang Rai - 2 min from bus station/market.

The bathrooms can use new soap dispensers. But generally very very good.
The location is just perfect if you come by bus and it's also close to the night market. Best part is that they are super friendly. You can book tours in the reception. It's super clean and there is even free coffee. Generally very good value for money!

Our stay was perfect! Ness and the lady who worked there were absolutely lovely! Very helpful and nothing was ever too much. Ness gave us plenty of recommendations of things to do in our short time in Chiang Rai! The location is perfect and very central to the markets!
