We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaHotel is tired and in poor repair, garden once a lush mix of flowers and jungle is due to large trees being cut down hot and dry , Once you had your bed made each day decorated with towel animals and sprays of flowers, now a rolled towel if you are lucky , no phone in room so room service is pretty much gone , pool bar closed , this is reflected in the price however, you can book for about half what we used to pay. Like many resorts in Thailand ( but not all ) under investment, poor maintenance by management have run down once beautiful place to stay
We have stayed at this resort many times over the years and it has unfortunately slowly decaying , once our favorite spot in Thailand it now is an average hotel in a stunningly beautiful location. Location with beautiful view out to Phi Phi Lei , and quiet part of the island is the main attraction

United KingdomWebsite says 10 minute walk to town. Actually 25 mins plus which is sometimes a challenge in the heat. Hotel area very large so you could be staying 10 min walk from reception/breakfast area.
Quite hotel spread across beautiful bay area. Cleaning and breakfast staff lovely.

Bangladeshhotel is too far away from pier and take 20 minutes to walk there is no free boat service. they have their people standing on pier to collect the luggage but his behaviour was very rude. the rooms are located in high slope so be prepare for very stiff hike which is absolutely impossible if you have pregnant women, elderly people or even kids. there is no intercom in room so even if you need anything you have to hike 10 minutes to get to the reception.

IsraelA bit of a working from the center, we've received our rooms without a towel and extra bed, and had to repeatlty asking for them, but we also received the room earlier at checkout so I maybe they wasn't prepared. The pool is look abandoned, you can see that it had a better time.
Located on a cliff you get a great view from the room, breakfast was pretty good with a variety of different food, the stuff in the restaurant was very friendly and we got a great service.

ThailandPool felt like it was not really taken care of in a while. Towels were old, they were cleaned but had some yellow staining, not sure if that is just from the sea air or not. Staff did not seem to interested.
The views, location and the private bungalows were spacious enough and it was nice to have a balcony. if you are after a place to stay bayview does the job, but not if you want to treat yourself.

SwitzerlandStaff at breakfast and lunch were rude. You have to pay for breakfast in the moment in cash which is a bit ridiculous so we had to walk back to the room and get money (the place is quite large so it’s inconvenient). Facilities overall were a bit worn

United KingdomThe staff were rubbish when we checked in the lady with glasses was borderline hostile none of them (apart from the bellboys who were lovely) were friendly at all. During our stay there was a rule change that we had to sign out beach towels with lots of signage in the lobby advising of things we cannot do, no way to reserve sunbeds and zero shade. The beach wasn't clean and no fish visible. However, we there was floating human excrement needless to say we spent the remainder of our time at the much cleaner long beach. Unable to charge drinks to the room.
View was beautiful from the bungalow, the bed was high for me being 5ft 2 but still super comfy far enough away from all the clubs and bars so you can properly relax and can also walk to long beach which is more peaceful. Boat taxi from the Ferry and free water. Lovely flowers throughout the property. Laundry and water taxis available just outside the lobby. Short walk to restaurants.

United KingdomThe bathroom wasn’t the best - there was no soap for the sink and the shower didn’t drain properly. The shower gel was stuck to the wall in the shower so we had to walk into the flooded shower floor every time we wanted to wash our hands
Absolutely beautiful location, great views. It was a nice clean room, very comfortable. They carried our bags from the pier which we didn’t expect so that was appreciated

AustraliaA lot! I do not recommend. 10 min plus walk from jetty then a short beach walk should be mentioned in their property listing. Then a 200m hike up hill to your accomodation. While I am fit and managed, again this should be mentioned in property write up. NOT recommended for those with a disability or the elderly. Upon check in, it was like checking into a backpackers ..no friendly service, no explaining where anything was. POOL looks like a run down amusement park, no swim up bar (closed and looks like it hasn’t been used for years). It’s a fair hike away from the accommodation as well. Definitely NOT what the photo shows (which is why I booked the accommodation). no people laying around it. Tv was only set to Thai and I could only use Netflix etc (which is fine if you have membership and can understand Thai to find the English subtitles). The reception staff were RUDE.. Sorry I’ve stayed in a lot of places through booking . com and I’ve found this the worst to date. Way over priced and doesn’t deliver on what its advertising

HungaryThe resort can not access by foot although the Google show the routes. The last 300 m you have to walk in the sand with your luggage. You dont book premium delux bungallow because it is the B site of the resort and very far and you have to hike a lot.
The resort bungallows has a beautiful view for the sea and the bay.

United KingdomYou need to know a few things about this resort. It is huge, you could be staying far away from reception/beach so check on arrival or put it in your notes. The path from Tonsai Pier runs out 150metres from the resort so the last bit is a walk on the beach - not good if carrying suitcases or children. I advised when booking it was for a 25th wedding anniversary, but nothing was mentioned when arriving and no special arrangement of the towels, or flowers in the room, which felt like they hadn't seen or read the notes.
The rooms are lovely, spacious, clean, massive bed, all have balconies and the bathrooms are excellent. The air con is very good and the shower has good pressure. We had a Luxury Sea View and you could see the sea - through a lot of trees. We had an issue with one of our suitcases so the maintenance dept. loaned me some tools to fix it - very helpful.

United KingdomThe rooms were very dated & in desperate need of some TLC. The steepness of the hills up and down to the rooms is very difficult with buggies. Lastly, access to the hotel is via 100m of beach which makes it extremely difficult for buggies.
Far enough away from Tonsai to enjoy peace & quiet. Sea views with a beautiful beach. We were also helped with all our luggage to and from Tonsai pier which was a massive help with 2 children & 2 buggies.

United KingdomBreakfast was just ok. Poor coffee. Resort is huge so our room was quite a long walk from reception/breakfast area.. The swimming pool needs maintenance. They have helpers for the baggage so remember to ask for that.

CanadaLots of climbing to get to the rooms, not suitable for elderly or infirm. Also this hotel is at very end of beach so lots of walking from main pier. Bathroom was dated and grungy.

U.S. Virgin IslandsThe location of the units was quite a walk to get to and there was no shuttle service offered. Asked about shuttle and front desk said no but next day saw the shuttle bringing people to from front desk into the resort. Also water in shower in our unit was scalding hot, told front desk on first day and it wasn't fixed
The view was outstanding..

AustraliaIt’s a 20mins walk from the pier. It’s okay to walk but can be quite difficult if you have baggage. Its right at the end of the road but is a beachfront. Also a bit of uphill hike to access your rooms or cabins.
The rooms and bathrooms were clean, but could be done up a little more. The balcony does need extra cleaning as there were ants everywhere. Good location right on the beach.

EstoniaSmall ants (nothing serious, little ones which are rather usual) were in bathroom and on house everywhere (outside on walls), next house was not in use, therefore the area near and house felt quite dirty (even though rooms were clean and the view from balcony was nice, balcony on the other hand not so clean). The pool exists, but was so dirty that we avoided using it. Since we had rather older house which was farer away from the center, we had to walk about 20+ minutes to house from dinnerplaces.
I think the newer houses are clean and nice, but we got the older house.
