Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomWas pleasantly surprised. We arrived early and they were nice enough to give us our room. Suite was massive with an amazing sunrise view. Hotel is average but for the price its decent. I would definitely recommend.

United KingdomThe lake building suffers from almost constant noise harassment from three venues at night. Of the three bars/restaurants producing the intrusive music, one has a band that plays loud music until 2:30am - 3:00am, 6 day per week. The noise levels impacted our ability to sleep and the quality of our sleep. Unfortunately, our room on the 4th floor of the lake view building suffers from very poor WiFi connectivity with regular WiFi dropouts. A better connection to the WiFi was achieved if and when we took our device down to the 3rd floor pool level or over to the main building; however this was not always possible especially when resting in ones room or at night and in that respect WiFi dropouts was a frustrating problem. The daily scramble for sun lounges in favourable positions around the main pool and on the beach was unacceptable. Guess would reserved sun loungers by placing their hotel provided beach towels on the loungers before disappearing, in some cases for hours. Sadly, this frustrating and unacceptable behaviour was seemly tolerated by the hotel as there was no signage or verbally given instructions preventing guess from engaging in this practice. Guess in the adjacent lake view building were at a disadvantage as most of the loungers were secured by guess in the main building.
My wife and I were booked into the Matcha Samui Resort for two weeks. We were accommodated in spacious rooms in the adjacent lake view building. This building has its own facilities which include a pool/jacuzzi on the third level and very small gym on the second level. Facilities are good with suitable furniture provided around the pool area, with hand towels and water provided in the gym. Whether accommodated in the main building or lake building, the services and support provided by the staff could not be faulted. The staff were always professional and respectful and greeted all guest with a “wai”, irrespective of the time of the day. All of the staff who my wife and I interacted with over our two weeks are to be commended for making our stay in Matcha a mainly positive one but a big “shoutouts” go to Pinn on reception/restaurant, also to Kae, Preaw, Khaw and Gan, “support and wait staff” in the restaurant and pool/beach bar for their positivity and helpfulness throughout out stay in the resort. Housekeeping and room cleaning was a regular feature of Matcha’s attention to the cleanliness of its two building and its picturesque grounds.

United KingdomThe room was on the small side & lacked storage for clothes. Other than that it was ok for the price. The bed was very firm & even adding a mattress topper didn't fully overcome this.
The location next to the beach was superb. The surrounding gardens were attractive but the pathways could do with smartening up. The staff around the breakfast room & beach bar were very helpful & pleasant.

United KingdomThe food was not the best in the restaurant and breakfast was mid. Not a big issue but there were many restaurants and bars close by as an alternative. There wasn’t a Seven Eleven that was close by enough, you had to walk at least 15. Mins for the closest one
The location was ideal in terms of the vicinity to the Chaweng central so it was quiet enough not to be too loud and the beach area was excellent and not too crowded. The property was clean and very relaxing

NetherlandsThe rooms are outdated. The main door locks don't feel safe at all. The staff is friendly but seems to lack a bit of training in the hospitality business, not necessarily their fault but the management's. The beach bar can't compete with the neighboring bars, but it has enorm potential. Try to book the beach building isntead of the lake building. The rooms are quieter (consider the bars next door with live music every night) and in better condition. Overall, the hotel is ok for the price, so you get exactly what you pay for.
The location. Beautiful beach. The swimming pool was fine. Our first impression was bad because we booked a room in the lake building (cheapest, but still not worth it). We switched to the beach building and the mood switched positively. The location's ammenities and beautiful beach made us book an extra night and we had a great time here!

United KingdomThe room was very loud every night - there is a bar somewhere nearby which had live music until 2am every night and even with earplugs I could hear it. The bed was also not comfortable - I was here for a 10 night stay and it was just not a good quality mattress - I didn't sleep well any night. I was working remotely for the second half of my trip and the room design is just not conducive with this. The 'desk' was not a desk and only had about 8inches of depth that could actually be used so not remotely practical. The chair also did not fit under the desk when sat on it so I couldn't work there properly and ended up having to sit on the coffee table and use that as a chair, not remotely ideal! On the basis of the poor mattress and desk setup I wouldn't stay here again unfortunately.
Good location along Chaweng beach with lots of restaurants and massage parlours nearby. The room was a good size with a strong hot shower and a decent amount of toiletries provided. The cleaning staff were super friendly and helpful and replenished towels even when I didn't ask for them. 2 bottles of water provided in the room every day which is always nice. The breakfast was pretty average but OK; I really liked the egg station and had an omelette for breakfast most days. Some of the hot food options were a bit niche (mashed potato and fish fingers for breakfast some days...) but there was the same option of fruit every day (pineapple, papaya and watermelon) and some cereals, yogurts and bread available as well. There were 2 pools - the one on the 3rd floor I had pretty much to myself whenever I used it which was nice, although i was unable to order any bar service to that pool. The other pool is as advertised and had plenty of loungers around it. The gym was pretty basic with one treadmill, one bike, a couple of benches and then a decent selection of weights (2 - 20kg dumbells). There was a lat weight machine which I don't think would pass any UK safety standards and I nearly splintered myself on some exposed metal wires the one time I tried to use it.

United KingdomThere was no bathroom soap and no iron. The patio door was not locked and I couldn’t figure out how to lock it. Also no curtain nets so being on the ground floor people could see me in my room as they walked past to go to the beach. My room was next to the breakfast area so it was a bit noisy during very early in the morning. You could hear noisy music from pubs/bars on the street.
Clean, tidy, and organised. Good location and convenient especially to the Muay Thai Boxing Match. Staff were friendly with my luggage and checked my room had everything (complimentary water bottles were missing so they went to get some).

United KingdomMy room was not what I booked, as I booked a king size bed but I got 2 twin rooms. The deposit wasn’t advised anywhere and leaving 2,000 bhats for 1 day was unexpected. The room had a pub nearby therefore the music was being listened from the room till around 2:30. Maybe they could give earplugs for those rooms as an alternative
The stuff was very helpful and they went the extra mile letting us use the towels after the check out as it was our last day in the island.

United KingdomNot the most luxurious resort but was good value for money
Lovely stretch of beach, pool always clean and beach towels provided daily. Room was clean and serviceable, looked like it had been refurbished to a reasonable standard. However bathroom was on small side with a step into shower meaning it was difficult to get into the bathroom without slipping into the shower area which was precarious at night. Fair selection of food at breakfast with a fresh cooked egg section for omelettes etc, good selection of fresh fruit.
