Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.

Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. GermanyThis hostel is amazing and I felt comfortable from the moment I walked in! The owner George is great; very welcoming, friendly and always helpful. The dorm and common area are cozy, well kept and extremely clean. Breakfast is really good and you can enjoy nice coffee all day. The location is great and it is easy to explore old town from there. It is one of the best hostels I have stayed at! Definitely recommend staying here when visiting Chiang Mai!

GermanyProbably the cutest Hostel I’ve ever stayed in. It’s family owned and you really feel like home. Every morning fresh and different varieties of breakfast with fresh fruits. Very comfy beds, lockers in your pod, light and plug as well. Everything super clean and it looks new and renovated Not gonna lie I can’t even find a thing I did not like here. Therefore an honest 10/10 😊

New ZealandComfort Zone Hostel is in the perfect location. It is off the Tha Phae Street but close enough to walk down to the old city and go temple hopping. There is a 7Eleven less than 40 metres from the hostel plus accessible ATMs. George & Kim (the owners) are such lovely welcoming people and so accommodating. I originally booked for 3 nights and ended up staying for 14 days. The maid (I’m so sorry I didn’t learn her name), is so sweet and works really hard to keep the hostel spotless & make people feel welcome. If I’m ever back in Chiang Mai (which is highly likely), I’ll definitely stay at Comfort Zone again.

NorwayIt’s not a super social hostel, but I think it’s mainly because there is no proper and comfortable zone to hang out. But despite that, I did meet some really nice people!
I stayed here 2 times during my trip to the north. It’s a great hostel with a very good location. The owners are super nice and the bed was very comfortable. I would recommend this hostel. The dorm and the bathroom are very clean and the breakfast was plain but good. Loved that they had a water filling station with cold water and cheap washer and dryer. Would recommend this hostel if you’re going to Chiang Mai!

ColombiaI arrived too late in the morning and there was George, with his extreme kindness he gave me a warm welcome. From there the experience was already 10/10. He showed me around the place, pointed out exactly where everything was, which made it all too easy. To my surprise, when I woke up he had breakfast available, even Thai dessert made by his wife. I couldn't be more satisfied with the stay I had in Chiang Mai, it really was extremely pleasant and I met amazing people that will remain engraved in my life today. If I could rate this place 11/10 I would, it's really worth it. Thank you George, you are the best host in the world.

Comfort Zone Hostel is truly one of the best hostel experiences I've ever had. George and Kim run this place with so much warmth and love that you instantly feel at home. The atmosphere is cozy, social, and welcoming. They always find ways to make their guests feel special—whether it's offering fresh fruits, delicious snacks, or simply making sure everyone is comfortable. The hostel is also exceptionally clean, as great care is taken to keep everything spotless. If you're looking for a place where you feel more like a guest than just a traveler passing through, this is it! Highly recommended!

IndiaRun by a lovely elderly couple, this hostel truly felt like home. I initially planned to stay for just a couple of days but ended up extending my stay to a week. The place was spotless, with comfortable beds, good air conditioning, and a fan to keep cool in the heat. They also offer complimentary fresh fruits, coffee, and snacks daily, which was a nice touch. It’s also a great spot to get work done—I often found myself lounging on the couch while catching up on office tasks. The location is unbeatable, within walking distance of Thapae Gate, the Night Bazaar, and Warorot Market. However, the highlight of the stay was the owner, George. He always greets guests warmly, ensures everyone is comfortable, and is more than happy to offer local tips and recommendations. His hospitality made all the difference. This place truly felt like home, and I’ll definitely stay here again whenever I’m back in Chiang Mai!

SwedenThere was nothing I did not like.
I rarely write reviews, but Comfort Zone Hostel and George really deserve it. Being here was truly like being home away from home. George, the owner, was the perfect host and has easily made this the best hostel experience I have ever had, and its difficult to move on and know not to expect the same quality as here. George pays attention to all kinds of detail to make the stay as good as possible, it is very clean, includes breakfast and free coffee, you get a lot of privacy with the curtains (full privacy) in the dorm room, and it does not even feel like you are in a 10-person dorm room. It is very good value for money. I am glad I got recommended this hostel by a previous guest that I met, and its well deserving of its excellent rating. While its not meant necessarily as a social hostel (?), the breakfast hallway area becomes the natural meeting point to hang around and getting to know the other guests. Location was also fantastic, just a few minutes walk from East gate to old town, and it is also possible to borrow bikes from the hostel.

BrazilThere is a reason why Comfort Zone has a 9.7 rating. If you want a really comfortable, very clean, beautiful and cool place, this is the place for you. The beds are comfortable and there is a drawer and a locked closet to store your things. But the best thing is the owner of the hostel, George, who makes sure that you will have everything you need. Every day there is a variety of fresh fruits for breakfast, bread, peanut butter, sometimes a typical dessert and other things, there are always snacks to grab. George and his wife keep everything tidy and clean and always ask if everything is okay or if we need help. He also schedules tours and gets discounts by calling companies. There are also bicycles to borrow for free. I planned to stay 2 days but ended up staying 10 days. I also met a lot of cool people! I recommend it!

ColombiaEverything was so good that I can't complain
Dear backpacker! If you are like me, a person who can spend up to 3h reading and reading again comments of hostel's do you don't end up in a hope. Look no more, for real this got to be one of the best hostel's I have ever stayed and boy that my SEA trip got me into a loot..Good price,. George the owner is a great person always willing to help, CLEAN for god's sake and with an excellent location, seriously if it's 2am and you're deciding where to stay in Chiang Mai, just go to sleep and stay here, I hope this comment saves you a lot of trouble. Also the social environment is good, meet amazing people at the hostel and just rembered. Free fruit, coffee, water, that's and nuts for you to make a good breakfast. For real, our first conversation with the people I meet there was how amazing it was that we landed in a great hostel that delivers what it promises. The shower was good,. hot with good pressure and the beds omg really comfortable with CLEAN sheets (I know it should not be an amazing thing, but again after travelling so much I'm pretty sure you know what I mean) Best regards to George and definitely with out a doubt staying here again Trust me, you won't regret it
