Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Australiathe hot water temperature was hard to control and the AC in the room was also too cold— the remote didn’t work very well.
The rooms were spacious for a hostel, and very well cleaned. The staff were friendly and helpful. The beds were pretty comfortable, the little curtains over the bunks were great for sleeping in. our kids enjoyed the use of the board games and the video games. The kitchen was well equipped. Overall it was a good stay for our time in Chiang Rai.

GermanyThe room (the bathroom in particular) could have been cleaner. Especially the boiler in the shower could do with a good scrub and the surfaces were rather dusty. After showers the bathroom smelled really bad but that seems to be a common issue as we experienced this in multiple hotels already. The cleaner seems to loose quite a bit of hair as we found it everywhere, maybe a hairnet would help there? 😅 But overall you can tell that the owners are committed to their work an for hostel standards it was alright.
The people working at the front desk were really nice. They booked us on an extensive tour of Chiang Rai, the Golden Triangle and many more sights for a very fair price. This tour really helps you to see most of the sights in Chiang Rai in a short time. The common area was spacious and clean. We did not have the issues other people described regarding the noise. On the nights we stayed there was no noise coming from the common room at night. Just a dog that barked all night but that is of course out of the hostel’s control.

United StatesIncluded breakfast could be better - was just bread/toast and peanut-butter/jelly. The free coffee and tea was available all day though, which was a plus!
Great value for money. Walking distance from central Chiang Rai; also very easy to rent a motorbike or book a local tour right from the front desk. Staff is helpful and friendly, rooms are clean and comfortable!

United KingdomHot water in shower in communal area kept going cold, but this was easily sorted by pushing a button. Showered in en suite after this.
Great comfortable beds in a quiet dorm with en suite, toast provided in the morning with tea coffee, and water available all day. Nice communal area and a 10min walk into the centre. Bathrooms cleaned daily and towels replaced everyday (even though this wasn't really necessary)

ThailandThe shared living spaces always had the windows open and lights on and this meant there was always lots of mosquitoes everywhere. Although they have doors to try and reduce the amount that escape to the dorms, they didn’t seem too effective as the majority of the spaces here are very open to the elements.
Good price for the range of facilities that you can access and use. Rooms are clean as are the bathrooms. Hostel is clearly looked after well. Close to the clock tower and some nice food places.

BelgiumVery nice hostel to connect and socialize with other travelers thanks to the common areas :) The female dorm was very clean and new (including the bathroom) but the bathroom in the mixed dorm was not... They have free breakfast in the morning that is really appreciated. Thanks :) Also, I could leave my bag in a storage when I went for a 2 days trip from Chiang Rai! I'd really recommend it for solo travelers !

United KingdomNot many things wrong, but if there's anything to improve on I'd say that the bathrooms and toilets could do with some more hooks so allow guests to hang their items.
Good location, not too far from the city center and not too close either. Really nice and spacious common areas with games, consoles and books to enjoy. Rooms are pretty comfortable and the curtains on the beds are a nice touch for extra privacy.

United KingdomLarge bunks with good privacy but mattress very firm. As we were just 2 in 4 bunk room we doubled them up. Better, but I’m not sure I’d have slept well on just one but then I’m an old fart of 59!
Short walk from bus terminal and central area. Stroll less than 10 minutes from hostel to night bazaar and superb eating opportunities. with the genius discount we had 3 nights in 4 bed bunk room, private facilities for £50. Quiet. pleasant common area. Helpful staff and very good range of tours available. Was a strenuous days trek but the 1 day hill tribe yomp, including superb forest lunch, waterfall & finishing with hot springs was excellent. Our guide Wat had great sense of humour. Day trip to Golden Triangle via the white, blue temples also good.

PortugalThe only two points I would say were not so good is that the dorm temperature was super hot even though the AC seemed to be turned on and also, they advertise breakfast included but there was only bread slices and jam/butter available, and I had to pay for a cappuccino separately. Other than that, amazing location and overall good stay.
The hostel has great accommodations and really nice staff. It’s awesome for its price.

Sri LankaBooking.con charged an additional THB 300 as a refundable deposit. However the property said they didn’t receive it as it was only during Covid period. So basically we didn’t receive our refundable deposit back.
Friendly staff. Good value for money. They have complimentary bread, jam and peanut butter for breakfast. Tea / Coffee / Ovaltine / Jasmine tea available anytime of the day. In-house washing machine and dryer. Board games and play station in common area. Grab taxi / Bolt taxi seems to be the only travel options unless you hire a moped. They explained all possible tour options and attractions around. Try the free tram ride city tour!
