Beds were VERY hard. Only one toilet/sink/shower per floor which wasn’t as much of an issue as I thought it would be but definitely something to be aware of

So so homely and welcoming, the receptionist (didn’t get her name!) was so lovely and helpful with booking tours and transfers etc. the free popcorn and treats, as well as the option for hot food (paid), was a lovely touch. Easy 5 mins walk to the beach and loads of great food places near by. No 7-11 particularly close but a couple of mini markets selling all the same things very nearby. Great aircon!

People smoking pot... i was in the building that was not the main building with the restaurant.

The location is very close to Long beach, the hostel has a very good breakfast of eggs, fruit, toast. Water is provided, it would be nice if it was cooler, rather than room temp. Day teips are available, 7-11 is about a 15 to 20 min walk. Only transportation is walking, rent a bicycle, rent a moped or the tuk tuk. For moped, make surevyou come with an international driver's license as I have read they are starting to crack down on people that do not and fine.... I know a person this happened to last year. Also, check you travel medical coverage for moped accidents and if you are covered. A young lady i met spent about £2,000 pounds on hospital visits after the person she was riding on the back with dropped the bike and burnt her calf area. Another gentleman was ran into by another bike rider, he was hurt all diwn one side cuts, scrapes, no broken bones. The person that hit him paid for all the damages and hospital visits... he still had to go to the hospital each day for wound care.... they were staying at the hostel.... so make sure you are covered! It would seem some of the tuk tuk drivers are asking crazy amounts for transport, make sure to negotiate... I walked most places and took a ride only if necessary. I went up to walking street once... I negotiated 100 baht to get back to the hostel... Bathrooms were decently clean but the drain was slow!

    Nothing.

We enjoyed our stay. Lovely staff. Offered blankets, balls, snorkels etc for the beach free of charge. Nice area sooo close to the beach but only a short tuktuk from the night market. Breakfast was lovely. Rooms were lovely and cool with air conditioning. Bathroom were a bit smelly but can’t be helped at times and only spend 5-10 minutes a day in a bathroom so doesn’t matter.

    - far away from everything ( expect the beach ) , seven eleven really far away , you need to have a scooter - complicated to meet people , not a social hostel

    - staff really Nice and helpful, always smiling - rooms and bathrooms - close to the beach - good restaurants close by - they rent scooters for really cheap ! - they offer reductions for the excursions !!! ( 800 THB instead of 1000 ! ) - amazing free breakfast , you can even choose how you want your eggs and they make it for you ! ( even better considering the price of the room ! )

The Hub of Joy Hostel is a great choice for budget travelers looking for convenience and ease. One of the best aspects of this hostel is that you can organize everything right on-site—transfers, tours, laundry, and more. It makes exploring the area hassle-free and lets you focus on enjoying your trip. The atmosphere is friendly, and while the facilities are simple, the convenience and helpfulness of the staff make it a solid option for a comfortable and stress-free stay.

Mattresses were a little hard…. A bit painful at times but the blankets were so fluffy that it helped a lot!

This was such a refreshing hostel to stay at. The rooms were clean and the blankets amazing. The bathrooms were very clean and maintained. Breakfast was fantastic! Some nice eggs, fruit, muffins/cakes with coffee and tea. Books and snorkels and beach towels to borrow. And such a good location next to the beach!

I did unfortunately get ill after eating lunch from the hostel. A lot of people were eating there during my stay and were fine and the food was delicious the previous times I had eaten there so I guess I just got unlucky the one time.

The bunks were good with plenty of space and the breakfast was great. The staff were lovely and very helpful in booking trips and buses for you and at reduced prices! It's a 4 minute walk for the beach which is great and the bathrooms were clean. All in all I would definitely stay here again

    - only 1 or 2 showers on each floor (but it was not a problem and I never had to wait) - the hostel could organize more events to connect people

    - good and diverse breakfast included (eggs, toasts, fruits, cakes, coffee, tea, juice) - clean with good A/C - relatively comfortable beds - nice English speaking staff who tries to help and accommodate the requests of their guests - it offers the cheapest price for transportation (ferry, day tours etc.) I stayed in 3 different hostels on this street which are next to each other and this one was the best in terms of breakfast and price paid.

Bed Comfort: The beds were quite firm—almost like sleeping on a wooden plank. If you’re picky about mattress comfort, this might be an issue. Storage Space: There’s not much storage available in the dorm rooms, which can make organizing your belongings a bit tricky.

I recently stayed at Hub of Joys on Koh Lanta for three nights at the beginning of January, and overall, I had a great experience! This hostel offers excellent value for money, with so many perks that make it a fantastic option for budget travelers. Pros: Affordable: The price is incredibly reasonable, especially considering the amenities included. Location: It’s in a great spot, just a short walk from the beach and conveniently located near a small market and restaurants. Breakfast: The included breakfast was a standout—delicious and a perfect start to the day. Friendly Owner: The owner was kind and super helpful, making sure everyone felt welcome and taken care of. Scooter Rental: Renting a scooter directly from the hostel was easy and hassle-free. Security: The building and dorm rooms are secured with a key-card lock system, and personal lockers are available (with an option to use your own lock for added security). Comfortable Features: Each bed has curtains for privacy, a real duvet (not just a basic blanket), a power socket, and a personal light. The dorm is air-conditioned for a good night’s sleep. Clean Bathrooms: Each floor has 2 toilets, 1 shower, and 2 sinks, all kept very clean. Overall, Hub of Joys is a fantastic choice if you’re looking for an affordable and well-located hostel on Koh Lanta. Despite the firm beds and limited storage, the friendly atmosphere, excellent breakfast, and thoughtful amenities more than made up for it. I’d happily stay here again and recommend it to other travelers, especially those who appreciate good value and convenience!
