Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

NetherlandsBathroom on 4th floor was a little bit too hot.
Best hostel I had in the 3 weeks of my thailand travel. Very good and clean rooms, bathroom also very clean. Location was amazing. Very touristy but that’s okay. Pool with seaview was nice.

United KingdomThe prices were equivalent of other beach bars but you can go to any restaurant round the corner and pay half the price for drinks. Was annoying that one of the pools was closed at the moment so only one pool is open.
There was always something on.

New ZealandThe music is way to loud, all the time!! Who want loud club music at breakfast? It would be really nice to just hear the waves and relax in the morning with some chill music that's not TOO LOUD! You can start the party music at 4 or something.
The location is excellent, right on the beach, the restaurant is very nice and the staff is friendly. I liked the karaoke nights and the fire shows.

United Arab EmiratesHad to come back to check in. No early check in. At times, there was no staff to serve the amount of guests for food and beverage . Because of the location- the music, drunk guests and airplanes can’t be missed.
The location. The beach. The vibe. The food menu.

SwitzerlandIf you’re not into the party vibe I wouldn’t recommend this location. Chaweng is very busy and loud which is great if that’s what you’re looking for but if you want someplace more peaceful I would go somewhere else on the island. There are a lot of restaurants around but at a higher price point than elsewhere. The area felt very touristy and party-oriented which I personally didn’t enjoy.
Very clean and comfortable dorms. The bed was big and there are curtains around each one which give you a lot of privacy. You get two lockers and the big one easily fit my big backpack. The bathroom was also big and had sufficient showers and toilets. It’s located by the beach which you can access from the pool area. You can’t sit on the beach right below the property but a short walk away you can. It was also surprisingly quiet for its location on a busy street. The staff was very helpful and you can book tours/ferries directly in the lobby which was very convenient. I didn’t partake in any of the social activities but they do organize some. I would recommend booking in advance if you’re coming in Jan/Feb as places get booked quickly and get more expensive last minute.

United KingdomOnly complaint is blanket wasn’t big enough for me. (I did not request a bigger one so this is my fault it could of been resolved)
Was a lovely break from normal hostels. Defiantly more of a hotel vibe. Quieter rooms in the evenings if in dorms , but still social around the pool. I’d say it’s perfect for 30+ as it costs abit extra it attracts a more mature crowd but defintly a positive if ur 30+ and looking for that backpacker feel but with people similar age. Is also a younger crowd was a good mix. Great treat mid backpacking trip

GermanyIt isn't like a hostel it is more like a hotel. I couldn't eat my food in the common places. If you have bought food outside you can just eat it on a certain table by the reception or dorms. Some staff members looked as if they are going to burn out.
The location, comfort and cleanliness is superb. The restaurant's foods and drinks are amazing. Water dispenser and other amenities like toiletries in the super clean bathrooms, hair dryer, towels for the pool are magnificent. Reception is always reachable and attentive.

MalaysiaThere wasn't any parking at the hotel, so you need to park in the parking space across the road. It would be excellent if smoking were prohibited in the dining, pool, or beach areas.
Although the room is small, it is clean, and the bed comfort is excellent. The beach was right in front of the hotel. The breakfast was excellent, served almost all day (7 AM - 4 PM). The pool was small but sufficient for a dip. Thanks to the team for the simple decoration on the bed for my spouse's birthday.

GermanyThere are a lot of old people (40+) or whole families in the hostel so there wasnt a good social vibe for younger (solo) travelers. Also your blanket is a big beach towel which is weird considering the higher price you pay.
