Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Canada- No Elevator. Not really a problem for me since I'm a one-bag traveler, but it's something to keep in mind if you have a lot of luggage or mobility issues.
I've stayed in Chiang Mai for almost three weeks, jumping between various hotels and hostels. I've found that each place always had some problem with it (noise, bugs, mold, location, etc.). However, October Hostel is the only place I've stayed where I have zero complaints. I've stayed in both the private room and the hostel room, and I can say both are great, but I'll limit my review to just the private room: + Great Location. It's in Nimmanhaemin. (Enough said.) You are surrounded by good food/drinks/shopping all within walking distance, and a short Grab away from the old city and airport. + Quiet. In most places I've stayed, I could hear music from nearby bars and clubs playing late into the night. However, in this room, I couldn't hear any outside noise other than the occasional plane. + Clean. The room felt new, and everything looked clean. + Spacious. There's enough space that you can slide around on the hardwood floors in your socks. Not saying I did, but you could. (I did.) + Comfy Bed. + Good Price. The price is similar to the other hotels I've stayed in, but the room doesn't come with any of their problems.

United KingdomIt would be nice to have someone on the front desk, but check in instructions are thorough and the hosts are responsive to messages.
The rooms were absolutely huge, more like a studio than a hotel room. The tv had Google Chromecast so we could watch Netflix. Very short walk to great cafes, bars and restaurants. Very friendly and effective service.

TaiwanMy flight arrived in Chiang Mai very late, but fortunately, this place offers self-check-in, which made everything incredibly convenient. Many accommodations require you to call the staff to wake them up for a late check-in, but here, the staff had already arranged my bed and sent me detailed check-in instructions in advance. The whole process was smooth and hassle-free. I stayed in the tent room this time, and it completely exceeded my expectations! The tent not only had air conditioning but also a real bed, creating a cozy and comfortable space. The tent door could be locked, providing both privacy and security. Overall, it was a fantastic stay!

MalaysiaCons: 1. Limited security with just a simple key lock. 2. The door is a bit worn, with peeling and small holes. 3. The bed is quite firm and faces a large mirror (which might be a taboo for some). 4. Plane noises due to poor soundproofing (anyhow all hotels in Nimman area are facing the same issue). 5. No lift, so carrying luggage to our 3F room was a challenge. 6. Contacted Line ID: Ming scanned from the banner outside hostel thinking it was customer support but the chat was unresponsive.
Pros: 1. Spacious room and bathroom. 2. Smart TV with Netflix. 3. A small kitchen equipped with a fridge and microwave. 4. Comfortable shower with strong hot water pressure. 5. There’s a small yard to hang clothes. 6. Found a Dyson hairdryer (unsure if it’s genuine tho). 7. Excellent location, everything you need is just steps away. 8. Easy to call e-hailing rides.

JapanThis is self check-in hostel in the long term stay apartment building. It was great I could check in anytime I like, even very late night. There was no front desk so you need to make a booking online. I saw someone who walked around the place for walk-in so I advised them to make a reservation first.

ThailandNothing I didn't like.
Very kind and such a great host! The location is very good, clean room, has shower gel, shampoo, hair dryer, microwave, fridge, kitchen sink, shelf, wardrobe, a table and 2 chairs all in the room. The hostel provides laundry machine for use at no cost (detergent and fabric softener provided), and a big area to hang and dry your clothes.
