Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaLoved the pool and beach area, rooms were big and comfy, breakfast was great, staff was friendly and kind (especially Michael and a lady at breakfast whose name I forgot). It’s a bit remote from the central area but overall great.

IsraelWe had a pleasant time at the resort. Clean rooms and a great resort facilities. Gaming rooms for kids, pools, exit to the beach. Wonderfull breakfast with a variety of choices. The resort is a bit far from Chaweng, but you can take a taxi. For couples and families you have everything you need.

IrelandIt's a nice hotel but is not 5 star- probably lower end of a 4 star. Overall it was a nice trip but we did have some issues and the staff made no attempt to help. - room cleaning quite poor- requested clean sheets on multiple occasions but only after asking 3 times did they change them. Rubbish was never removed from the room unless piled on the floor. - we were working remotely European hours so needed to start work at 3pm. Room cleaning occurred at random times despite requesting staff members to do it before 3pm. - room is very hot and humid- the fan does not go lower than 20 degrees - room was not comfortable to work from (although I imagine this is not typically people's requirement) - we asked for an early check-in ahead of our arrival and were told they would see what they could do but they wouldn't guarentee anything. On arrival it was clear no attempt to let us check in earlier was ever made. - we had electricity failure but only affecting sockets not lights (not a power cut) where we couldn't charge or plug anything in - very unresponsive staff even through the app they make you download (asking for a simple request was asking for a mammoth task- very different to other 5* places in thailand) - had a balcony that looks out into a grey wall- were given a ground floor room and when asked if we could move to a higher floor, said they'd check and then never responded. When called back 2 more times, they eventually said they'd forgotten to reply but no other room was available.

NetherlandsIf you come for the beach this is not the right place. The beach is full of algae and the water is dirty. Beach club Edgewater has great swimming pools but is expensive for food and drinks. But above all, it bothered us a lot that the described balcony is not a balcony where you can sit, relax and enjoy your coffee in the morning or drink at the end of the day. It is a 'French balcony' of approximately 1 x 0.5 meters, purely for decoration, without a seat. . We found that misleading and a real disappointment. Please be honest in your information on Boorking.com.
Thanks for the room upgrade, we appreciate it. The room was large and tastefully decorated. The location is a bit further from the center and therefore nice and quiet. There were enough nice eateries nearby. The breakfast was a nice start of the day

United KingdomIt was a little rough around the edges and tired in places. There is also no entertainment and not much else happening along the strip Vs elsewhere on the island (Fishermans Village).
Good food for breakfast and dinner.

Czech RepublicNonetheless, there are several substantial problems we had to deal with: A. Deluxe rooms are really tiny which means: a) you have either a table with one chair, or a big folding armchair ( where a baby can sleep ) -> meaning: if both of you are in the room, the only place where you can sit together is the bed, if you don’t have the famous table and you order a meal to the room, literally the only place where you can put it is the bed! or the ironing board! b) Only one chair on the balcony - you cannot sit there and chat together, because you don’t have the second chair! For a five stars hotel it seems grotesque… B. Breakfast - relatively rich choice, but if you prefer kind of European breakfast, you will be in trouble. They have eggs but that’s it. Very few cold cuts and cheeses ( during one month just the 2 same ones, not enough for all the people Restaurant - some dishes are delicious, some average, cocktails are tragic. Sorry for that but it needs to be improved- we are speaking about a five stars hotel. C. If your main interest is the sea, this is not a place for you to stay: - there is no a piece of a normal sandy beach next to the hotel - the sea water in front of the hotel tend to get stuck - the sea is dirty - I mean literally dirty ( am not referring to the seaweed which can also be a problem during some days) - but I f you can drive the motorbike, you will be fine! There is the wonderful Silver beach close by ( less than 10 minutes ) and in the same distance the Lamai beach
The hotel is beautifully designed, some rooms have nice views of the mountain. Thanks to kindness od thai people working in the hotel I felt pampered. Many thanks to all of you :).

Hong KongThat’s just a general observation: Being at such a busy road that you always need those wardens to cross the street safely is not perfect with smaller kids - but it is what it is, I guess that’s Thailand.
Staff always super nice and friendly, food at the Edgewater restaurant and Mala kitchen also very nice. The pools are nice and clean and very relaxing, the kids loved the slides and the kids club a lot. It was our third time to come here and we thoroughly enjoyed it again. Also a couple of really nice restaurants in walking distance, but essentially you could stay the whole time at the resort without needing to go out.

CanadaIt was unclear - on the Booking advertising - that the rooms were across the highway from the beach. We thought we could walk straight there without having to dodge traffic. The Hotel provided two traffic agents - oneon each side of the road - which was very helpful. So the hotel is doing everything it can to assist with safety.
The breakfast buffet was good. Both of the pools were lovely. I also enjoyed the morning activities included in the resort fee: yoga, Thai Chi, meditation, etc.

United KingdomCrossing the main road to go to the big pool / bar & restaurant is a little frustrating. Having a bar on the hotel side would be very handy. Rooms looking a little tired in places. Swimming pool missing some tiles. Could do with a refresh soon. Restaurant food was average and slow. The beach in front of the pool was a non starter. Sea was dirty so couldn't swim here.
Lovely staff. Nice rooms and hotel styling. Clean. Swimming pools are great. Solid breakfast. Pretty quiet. About a 15-20 mins walk into Lamai proper (can't get there via beach).

LatviaFirst when we arrived we had one room booked but it was impossible to stay in because it had a bad smell of mould and also it was visible in the shower. The room was damp and the sheets felt like that a bit too and soaked in the smell of the mould. After 2 nights we asked to change to another room and were happy that it was possible. The other nights we managed to have a good sleep. I was happy we had that room change. It changed my entire experience at this hotel.
We liked that it was close enough to the place where we needed to go to. It was also close to the beach and not a far walk from busy areas with shops and restaurants.

United KingdomThe breakfast area was very plain and simple. For us, it was nothing like a five star hotel. We knew about having to cross the road to get to the main pool area, and the men who assisted us , were marvellous, but it is not ideal. We also found the beach area very dirty, nothing to do with the hotel, but I am bringing it to other people’s attention
We had a lovely room with beautiful views. Walking towards our room from reception was very attractive. The staff were super, thank you. The quiet pool was really nice.

GermanyRooms a little old with humidity smell
The pool area is very good. Pools for all ages also for the very small ones. You have to buy drinks and food there. But it seems very normal to me and they are understanding if you have very small children that they may have special needs. The pool area is directly at the beach where you have wonderful sunsets. The beach is small but ok with white sand. To reach the pool area you have to cross a street but there are some people who help stopping the cars so it was never a deal to cross the street with a stroller. The breakfast is good with plenty of different food to choose. The rooms are simple and little old. Needs to be renovated but all of the other benefits balance this out. The gym is small but you have the strict necessary and access 24h. The kids club is quite big with a lot of different toys for all ages. This was very good. The staff is very very friendly.
