We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustriaWe booked with breakfast but as vegans there were only one option besides salad for us. they could have offered some alternatives. Also instead of those small water bottles on your room I would suggest a few water refilling stations to reduce plastic waste.
great beach location with a beautiful pool! the staff was also really friendly and helpful.

Netherlandsbreakfast was quite simple, we stayed for 6 days and a little variation would have been nice. the location is very quiet, you would need a motorbike to visit Lamai beach. for some reason, taxis are expensive on Samui.
The staff is absolutely the shining star in this hotel. They are all so friendly and willing to help. one staff member even took my wife on the back of her motor to take her to a nail salon. they have a nice pool and the food is good. you can rent a motorbike (we paid 200 bath a day) in the hotel.

AustraliaThe local area is in recovery mode - some things are open, many are not. Convenience store is a good 10 minute walk away. The property itself is out of town 1 or 2 klms so hire a scooter or use taxis if you want to want to see restaurants and bars in Lamai town and surrounds.
This property is set on a hillside running down to the beach. The setting is lovely. We stayed in one of the villas half way down the hill so wherever you went involved stairs - fine if you are 25, less so if you are 55. The dining area is on the beach with a lovely beach view. The stairs are a consideration for all of the hotel rooms with the dining area area at the bottom of the property. The room was as you would expect - clean, functional and well appointed. Mattress was more firm than we prefer but not rock hard. Staff were lovely albeit some were obviously new and learning - like all local hotels, this one has been through a period of either very reduced trade or complete shutdown due to the pandemic.

Location is 15 mins drive from fisherman village and 5 mins drive from lamai street, rooms are big and views are exceptional. Amazing breakfast, best thing is they serve breakfast in the room and you have have it with amazing views of ocean. They even went out of their way and got us table reservation at Coco Tams, the famous beach bar in Koh Samui. Words can't describe the amazing experience we had,They have got amazing staff, highly recommend and this is where we are going to stay whenever we visit Koh Samui.

NetherlandsFirst of all, we had the unpleasant experience of finding out that our room was not available and we would have to stay in another room for one night. The feeling that we had arrived in a place and could unpack and enjoy those days, we did not have. Moreover, the room we stayed in the first night, although they called it an upgrade, smelled bad and was dirty. Then the breakfast that starts at 08:00 and which is not even ready at this time, there are still foils on the food and you have to wait for the hotel staff to take pictures of the food before you can start, I don’t know why. If you plan excursions, these usually start between 07:00 and 08:00 you have no way to enjoy breakfast, which is why out of 5 breakfasts we missed 3. In terms of cleanliness for a hotel with an exceptional rating, be it 2, 3 or 7 stars, it has enough space to be improved. If I were to come back here again, I would first look for another hotel, maybe there are other better.
the location because it has a beach with few people where you can enjoy the sun in peace. I also liked the staff at the bar and restaurant in the second part of the day, very nice and friendly people.

United KingdomAll was great, maybe a re-fresh of some facilities would be good (such as restaurant/bar and one of the pool fountains) but cannot fault the resort at all given the price - worth every penny! Sea is quite shallow/rocky in the afternoon but we were aware of this - just keep in mind if choosing for the sea location alone.
Beach location, very helpful staff and really fair pricing in really convenient location. South facing pool/beach so you get the sun and warmth all day.

RussiaThe rooms themselves are quite old, the furniture is shabby, the TV in the room was showing 4 channels and was not connected to the Internet, the only bonus in the room is a balcony with sea views. I did not like the breakfast, the choice of food was extremely small and monotonous, literally after 2 days I already wanted to eat somewhere else. The main disadvantage is the location, It will take you 15 minutes to walk to the nearest shop or cafe along a poorly lit road. The way to the hotel is also not obvious, we ordered a taxi and 2 times the driver missed the entrance to the hotel and drove through because he did not notice it.
The hotel is located on the first line, there is a swimming pool and access to the sea. However, do not expect a full-fledged beach here, there is none as such. The sea itself is shallow, you need to go 200-250 m deep to swim properly. The hotel itself is small, but it has a lot of greenery, and there is a small cafe on site where breakfast is served. As a plus, I can highlight the lack of attempts to inflate prices in cafes, which is often found in such hotels on Koh Samui.

SwitzerlandMy mistake but I booked the standard room which was really dated, a bit musty smelling or damp (?), old fashioned, had a hard mattress and faced some buildings on the street side. These rooms need to be renovated and really aren't a very good deal for the price i paid (THB 6200 for two nights without breakfast, so $USD 90 per night). Basically, if you stay here always book a sea view room. The price differential is small and they are much better more modern rooms, with balcony and big patio door facing the sea!! This either means the sea view rooms are a bargain or as I concluded, the standard rooms aren't very good value at all and frankly I'd be disappointed at half the price. Unfortunately the sea view rooms are booked out well in advance so I couldn't change. Also some very odd random signs around the place (e.g., if you take one the glass bottles of water from the room they charge you THB 890, if you damage the fountain in the pool they charge you THB 5,000 etc). I get it that some guests are not respectful, but they are a small minority and you need to deal with them appropriately. I don't like see see a bunch of signs when I'm trying to relax warning me not to do things I never even considered doing. I mean I just wouldn't take a glass bottle of water anywhere because its heavy and if I want water when I'm out I'll pay THB 9 for a bottle from the 7-11? If its a massive issue then take a security deposit upfront. Also on check-out I paid the THB 6,200 bill by card (amex), but they said I couldn't pay the breakfast THB 315 also on the card and have a single bill but I needed to pay cash otherwise they'd have to add 5% to cover the credit card charge on the breakfast? Can I make a suggestion to the manager, maybe the THB 15.
Hotel grounds are nice with a lovely view of the sea. Nice pool and beach access. The staff were very friendly and efficient. Breakfast (charged extra) was good. Generally, very clean hotel.

LithuaniaWe got room in the main building on the 1st floor, but it had a very bad smell of sewage on the balcony and we asked to change. After long cosnideration and negotiations we got a new room. However it is definitely has not been refurbished for a few decades. You can hear when neighbors go into the toilet or if anyone is walking in the corridor as walls are very thin and no soundproofing at all. Breakfast 5/10.
