We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomWe found some of the staff members to be a little rude. The room was lovely but there were a few things wrong, such as the leather couch was ripped. We were almost rushed out of our room with several calls from reception and cleaning staff knocking our door when we still had about 15 minutes before our check out time - we didn't appreciate this and haven't experienced this in any other hotel. We made more use out of mama beach facilities next door, such as beach bar and massage, as there wasn't much to do in hotel.
The view was amazing and the hotel was a 10 min walk from the ferry pier. This made it easy for us to book tours to the islands. The reception staff did their best to check us in earlier as we had a tour booked and this was really appreciated.

IndiaCutlery wasn't provided for the room as mentioned. We had to literally had to fight with the manager for a single bowl, where we were supposed to get the complete cutlery. The Receiptionist and other staff are polite except the lady manager. All the staff are well aware of her behaviour, but they can't help it either
Best part is the location.

AustraliaThe room would have been exceptional back in the day, it was a little run down and our room smelt like mould but we also couldn't be bothered complaining.
The beach out the front was fantastic and it was only a 10 min walk to the wharf. Staff were great and you didnt need a tour to go to monkey Bay 🤣 they were out on the beach and staff would make sure they didn't get to close. The room wasn't to badly priced.

CanadaIts proximity to the main pier and shopping area was 15-20 min. Walk daily if not more. The beach area was small. Front desk staff were rude. My room was left opened ALL day after room service.I returned to my room at 5pm to discover the door was not closed. NOT impressed. the tiles on the bathroom floor were cracked and wobbly, in need of a major renovation.
It was at one end of the beach, so made it a quiet spot, until boat loads of tourists arrived each afternoon for lunch in our restaurant. The main floor pool was accessible to only 3 rooms. I booked one of these months in advance and was glad I did. It was well worth the additional cost. This hotel was probably in it's prime in the 80's.

AustraliaBreakfasts were very average - Don't bother if it isn't included for free. Balconies are open to all rooms - you need to keep your curtains drawn for privacy. There was only 2 lounge chairs at the pool, and as it is right outside some rooms you can't really hang out there. You have to swim and leave pretty well.
The hotel is in a lovely quiet spot with its own little beach - but you need to walk 10-15mins to get into the main part of town. It's a great spot to rent a kayak from. Nice Views from the balconies and pool.

South Korea1. The breakfast was really basic, definitely would rather go out and eat than pay to eat at the hotel, many amazing places very close by. 2. I was not informed that they only had single beds. We were on honeymoon~. I would have booked elsewhere if I'd known, we also were staying for a few nights, so I had asked for our room to be changed, having spent the night in a room with two single beds and then got a little upset after they had told me again the next morning they had no double rooms available however, somehow they found a room with a double bed at 9 am that morning.. really set a bad tone for our trip! (single room was also dirty and very unkept) 3. The balcony area should have a bit of privacy, really weird going out and to dry clothes and people are just there...walking pass your room 4. It's not a cheap place. It could really use more upkeep. 5. Tip box in the dining area, just a very strange and tacky thing to have to look at while you're eating.
The location was great! Walking distance from the center but just outside the noise and crowds. The staff was also very helpful and friendly ( after the second night) Luggage assistance to and from the pier was a HUGE help!! The view from our room was also spectacular!

BelgiumThe rest of the hotel was a major disappointment. The photos online are very misleading; the hotel is much older than it appears. There is no one at the reception at night, so if you encounter any issues, there’s no one available to help. Around 2 a.m., we had a cockroach infestation in our bathroom. We managed to find a security guard who didn’t speak English, and he gave us a spray to kill the roaches. However, instead of solving the problem, we went from having two cockroaches to 50. We tried to reach him again, and he was able to contact the manager, who then gave us a different room. Overall, the conditions of the hotel were terrible. Additionally, the breakfast was very poor, with little variety, and I ended up getting food poisoning from it. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
The only positive part of our stay was the pool, which was quite nice. Staff was nice

United KingdomA very dated looking hotel needs lots of money spent on it to bring up to the expected charges made for the 6 day stay. All rooms very dark old fashion brown wood and the request for repairs to lights in the room were not meet during our stay. I would recommend an independent site visit should organised. We would not choose to stay in this hotel again.

Amazing location, our room was so beautiful, on the beach, room 1001. Best room I ever had. 15 min away from all the city and noise, perfect for relaxing vacation. There was an old guy cleaning the leaves every morning, sing to himself, happy, that was my high light of the morning! Will miss this place.

Hong KongThere was nothing that we had issues with. Others complained about the door to the pool patio not having a lock on it. Ours did but only would lock from the inside so perhaps that was the complaint that while swimming in the pool your room door would not be locked. But you can see your room and I really don't see a reason for concern.
Hotel was away from the Bar Noise so a good night's sleep was had. The pool is excellent. The staff met us at the ferry dock and accompanied us to the resort. We had a super early boat tour but the staff prepared a phenomenal boxed breakfast for us when we returned. We were concerned about Monkeys but we never saw one. We were concerned about it being a long walk to the main town but it was very walkable in about 10 to 15 minutes. We didn't do the party scene but that would be doable as well if desired.
