Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Hello, I don't know why people are complaining about this hostel. In my case, the check-in was quick and I even slept at night. It's a hostel on the main street so it must be noisy around Phi Phi. 1. the beds are like laying on concrete slabs 2. the fact the toilet roll wasn’t replaced when a roll had been used, even asking several times for it to be replaced 3. the staff were rude 4. the bloody door to get into the room it noisy / creaky

12 beds in a room. No space to keep luggage. And the washroom was used by outsiders and anyone can enter or exit the room whenever they wanted to access the washroom. Not clean enough and they didn't have basic hand wash liquid in the bathroom.
Apart from the reception lady who was nice, there was nothing good about the property

it’s in a really loud area of the island and it’s impossible to sleep there as there is music blasting and people coming in and out of the room. Bunk beds with old mattresses, charger didn’t work, no privacy. I had to check in somewhere else.

clothes take forever to dry, very humid in that little corridor where bathrooms are, obviously very loud music at night (didn’t bother me too much, I’m a pretty heavy sleeper, but it may be a problem for some people), no kitchen or any area like that, also no hot/cold water for guests on the site
good value for money, nice host (such a lovely person), very good Wi-Fi (great for online work), old but working facilities, fairly clean considering that a lot of people go through that place and apparently the lady cleans everything herself every day 🥺

I stayed in a triple room with 2 friends. The water in the bathrooms (taps and shower) smelled so bad, we were gagging in the shower! we had a ladder up to our room which was questionable. mould on our bed sheets and stains on the mattresses! we left a night early we felt so dirty.
i will say that it was in a very good location and the air conditioning was absolutely brilliant.

Good location with excellent Indian next door. Restaurants and all around. Cheapest in phi phi too. Staff very nice and approachable

The bathrooms though clean smelled a bit- but so did most others on phi phi, I think a mix of salt water sticking everywhere and a weak plumbing system. The noise is also noticeable at night but you won't get away from it anywhere in Tonsai village so again, can't complain.
Price is best on the island and location is pretty much spot on too. Beds have nice thick mattresses and the air con is 7 eleven quality.

the hostel is very clean also good location Convenient, there are many restaurants around here and 5 minutes walk to the beach If I come back to Phi Phi Island Will definitely come back to stay here.thanks you paradise hostel

too compact, there wasn’t enough space for two people to stand between the beds. the dorm room opens on the road, not any sit out area as such. there will be music till late in the night, so if you are an early to bed person, this is not the place for you.
the location, its right in the central part. everything is close by - to eat, to drink, the beach.

there was no lock on the door so anyone walking past could enter the rooms, but isn’t a problem if you lock valuables away
