We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. AustraliaThere was a door in our chalet separating the bathroom/anteroom from the bedroom, which we were told to keep closed so mosquitos didn't enter the bedroom. We felt a bit nervous about this, as we couldn't work out how mosquitos would be getting into the bathroom/anteroom area... One of us did receive a few bites during the night but being in the middle of the jungle we just started applying insect repellent before bed. The need to keep the door closed meant that area wasn't air-conditioned and we only used it when strictly necessary. A bit inconvenient but not the end of the world. Other small things that could have been improved were the basic breakfast and service around the pool - but these were very minor and didn't detract from our overall incredible experience. Just noting this great resort is quiet, isolated and peaceful. Things we loved but might not be to everyone's taste.
We absolutely LOVED Phi Phi Phu Chalet Resort. The resort was brilliant - individual chalets built into the hillside overlooking pristine waters and coral reefs. The resort was secluded and felt removed from the party atmosphere of central Phi Phi Don. The on-site restaurant and bar served delicious food and drinks for reasonable prices. Otherwise, a 10 minute stroll into the nearby local village provided half a dozen different restaurants/bars to explore, along with a pharmacy, general store and massage shops. Phi Phi Phu resort staff were friendly and very helpful in booking island tours, organising snorkelling equipment (free) and Tuk-Tuk rides into the village (100 THB). The beach out the front offers some lovely relaxed snorkelling and kayaking, and there was a gorgeous infinity pool to lounge by during the day. Our bungalow room was lucky enough to be at the top of the hill, and while it was a steep climb the views were incredible. We had seen a few other reviews mention creepy crawlies in the rooms but we saw none during our stay, even when looking for them! We wish we had a longer stay to do more snorkelling and visit more of the local bars and restaurants!

AustraliaIt takes 40min+ to get here on the boat. If makes spending time in the main town of phi phi a bit tricky
Room is magnificent, I love it when the photos actually match the room you stay in. Very clean, view is spectacular. Staff are incredible. able to book the scuba, tours etc. for you. The scuba guide they booked us with was the best we ever had.

United KingdomThe grounds need attention and a mountain of sacks of rubbish awaiting removal. There are lots of steps to the rooms - it didn’t impact us, but take it into account if you are not so mobile.
Beautiful views, lovely pool. The staff were excellent and we had a wonderful welcome and our room was decorated beautifully. Lovely restaurant. Great location to the village - a short walk or motorbike and side car taxi (very unique!) away. You have to reach the hotel by long tail boat - very unique.

United StatesNo real complaints. It does take a most of a day to reach the island if you’re coming from Bangkok, not so much if you’re already in Krabi or Phuket. It wasn’t a problem for us but there are lots of steps so if you have mobility issues it might be problematic.
We’ve enjoyed our stay. The hotel is quiet and peaceful, away from the beaten path and ideal for what we wanted. It’s on the shore with a relatively small pebbly beach although some sand at low tide. Perhaps not the best place to sunbathe but they have a very nice pool for that. it’s a fine beach from which to snorkel in relatively shallow water, the water very clear with an abundance of sea life to appreciate. We snorkeled and kayaked from our hotel (free equipment). The food here is good, the menu offers Thai and Western food. We mainly ate the Thai dishes and enjoyed them. The staff is very accommodating. Kudos especially to the manger Khun Suchada who is friendly, professional and very helpful. Outstanding! We had a spectacular view of the ocean from our cabana.

SpainNothing we didn’t like
This place is amazing. I was a bit worried reading some of the comments before arriving, but we did not experience any of the issues mentioned in the negative comments. The place is beautiful and the view from the room is stunning. We decided to change our travel plan to stay another night. The pool is nice with a nice view, the staff are very helpful and friendly, the bed is very comfortable, the bungalow is nicely decorated and you can borrow Kayaks and snorkeling equipment for free. The town is only a 10 min walk and is connected by a bridge and it’s only a short walk to several beautiful beaches. The breakfast is also nice. It’s a bit expensive to get into the main town of phi phi, but there is no need to go into the main town as you have everything you need in the small town. We would definitely stay here again.

United KingdomThe resort doesn’t have the same ‘kerb appeal’ as its neighbouring resorts restoring the Condition of the thatched roofs probably is the most impactful thing they could do to make the resort look amazing upon arrival. Once off the boat and on shore the resort is not at all shabby but first impressions count.
Charming resort. Quite isolated and authentically Thai. Good aircon in the room and clean facilities. Good selection of complimentary water sports.

LithuaniaThe hotel is in a very peaceful location, a true pleasure after the bustling Ao Nang. The room we got was very spacious and tidy, with a wonderful view of the water. Right next to the hotel, there is a paved path leading to a village, just a 10-minute walk away. The food in the restaurant is tasty, the pool and surroundings are very clean. Excellent service!

United KingdomWe enjoyed the quiet surrounding the hotel however not ideal for those looking for a large option of bars / restaurants etc. nearby beach and small street of shops and cafes available however all close at 9pm.
Amazing views Very helpful staff who were great bringing our luggage off the long tail boat and to our room and also very helpful on reception to allocate a room when we wanted to stay another night at short notice. Remote location and quiet surroundings - was perfect. Food and service at the hotel was great.

United KingdomMy only gripe was the insects which sneak in through gaps in the windows and when staff leave the room open to clean. A quick spray with an insecticide or at a can in room as an optional treatment would have been nice
This hotel is built into the side of the hill on the other side of the island from Tongsai and is a beautifully quiet place to stay. However do not book here if you have a problem with climbing steps as you will need to climb up from the beach and road and most of the chalets are accessed via stone steps up. The hotel is usually accessed by private boat from Tongsai Pier which is free on arrival but 250 baht per person at any other time including on leaving. There is a path to Tongsai through the jungle which I understand is closed after 6pm. Our room was the highest chalet sat on the hillside with a large glass window looking out across the Straits of Malacca. Sunrise was spectacular. The layout of the room was perfect with a dressing room and shower room beyond. There was a fridge with free water replenished daily and the usual minibar. The bed was extremely comfortable and the air conditioning worked well. The staff were always courteous and polite and the receptionist/ manageress very polite so clearly not the same person referred to in other reviews. The food was great although the interpretation on an American Breakfast a little bizarre. There was a lovely pool to swim in and the small beach below had plenty of sand at low tide unfortunately the water was then too low to snorkel along the coral opposite the hotel. However a short walk along the beach and there was a gap in the coral that led out to the other side of the reef which was amazing place to snorkel The tides also affect where the private boat can arrive at and depart from-at low tide it can be quite a walk to the hotel although there are plenty of staff on hand to help carry luggage. Not far from the hotel were several good bars and restaurants supporting another close by resort where we ate out as well.

Thailand- Serving beverages and food at the restaurant takes time.
- We stayed at a deluxe view bungalow - You can see the beautiful sea lying on the bed, the view was so impressive. - The room is clean and cosy. - Though you need to take a boat from the main Tonsai pier, but that brings you a peaceful quietness. Good location to relax. - You can take a half/full day boat trip to Phi phi lay island directly arranged by the hotel.

SpainThe bed was very comfortable, but they need to offer some flatter pillows - all of the pillows were very thick, which didn't work well for us. Adding a few thinner pillows would help! As noted above, the location is very remote, which is good for relaxation and tranquility, but it means that there's not much else around in terms of restaurant or entertainment choices.
Very nice resort in a remote location in Ko Phi Phi Don. We took a ferry from Phuket and the resort picked us up by long-tail boat for the rest of the trip, then a moto taxi from the beach to the resort. It's a quiet and remote location, very relaxing! The staff was very nice and helpful. The resort also offers free use of kayaks and snorkels, but the beach right by the hotel is not a good place for snorkeling as it's quite rocky.

WE LOVED EVERYTHING ❤️ If you’re looking to escape the busy part of phi phi island, then look no further! Once you arrive to Tonsier Pier, the hotel will meet you and get you to the resort with a long tail boat. ( double check the times as they have a specific schedule for that ) once you arrive, rhe check in begins with a welcome drink and the kind and friendly staff! Chon, the manager will make sure you have the best time there. I have never slept so good as in their bungalow. It’s so peaceful and quiet while overlooking breathtaking views! Everything was clean and cosy and makes you feel like at home. Everyone who works there is doing an amazing job! We were there for two days but wish we could have stayed forever. Nearest village is only 10 min away with cute bars and restaurants. Support the local people as they are also doing a fantastic job! As well as that we had an amazing boat trip ride around all the islands such as Maya Bay, monkey island and so on which was organised by the resort! It’s so worth the money!!! They organized yummy lunch and plenty of drinks to stay hydrated. After reading some of the reviews, I don’t understand how some people didn’t like it. ITS THE BEST PLACE WE HAD ❤️ Hope to be back very soon!!! Thank you for everything!!!

United KingdomService was a little bit poor. For example, the boat pick up from Tonsai was a nightmare - we were arriving at the same time the boat was due to do a transfer but were refused transfer and had to wait for 2 hours to get the next one (otherwise private transfer on Phi Phi is in the range of 1000-1500 Thai bhat), the reason being that we were late by 15mins. The next boat we were put on left 20 minutes late and we had to wait in the scorching sun with no information. Breakfast was not to a good standard, at least in terms of options, the actual food tasted okay. Another thing was the hotel were offering boat transfers (as they all do) but none from the local Laem Tong pier, only from Tonsai which is logistically much more difficult. Not sure about the reasons for this, but guests are being inconvenienced by that arrangement. The hotel did not actually even know about the Laem Tong boats which we actually took. Lastly, on our last day we made an early request for a tuc tuc to take us to Laem Tong - which they forgot to put through so we had to wait for them to request another one and we ended up having to run to catch our boat. Given it’s in the more ‘isolated’ part of the island, a massage service would be popular but I think they are actually looking to provide this in the future.
The chalets are absolutely amazing and the views from them as well. The bar and reception areas were great. Location was outstanding - if you want to avoid the tourists and crowds like we did - staying on Phu Chalet’s side of the island is the location for you - much quieter whilst still having access to amazing restaurants and bars 10mins walk away. Staff were friendly as well and reception can get you tuc-tucs within the local area.
