We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

NetherlandsUpon our arrival, we hit the beach. We didn't pack any beach towels with us. So, I asked the reception if they could give us a pair of towels. They said we could use the ones in the room. I told them that if we did that, we'll need new ones to shower in the room. The guy at the reception insisted that they can only give 2 towels per day. So, basically he was saying, use the same two towels for the beach and to shower. We had to reuse the salty, sandy towels back in the room. Instead i asked, since you'll change the towels tomorrow, why not give us our tomorrow's towels now, and we use those as our beach towels. This way for 2 days stay, we'll have 4 towels; 2 for the room, 2 for the beach. But no the guys didn't accept. As insane as it sounds, he didn't let us have extra towels. Hence we had to improvise. But this stupidity alone made me write this review. Incredibly inhospitable move on their part.
The hotel is only reachable by a long tail boat from Tonsai Pier, which takes about 20-25min, easy ride. Nicely located, secluded, pleasant beach resort, but with limited means. For instance no pool, but the sea is good enough. The restaurant is very good, with great variety, delicious stuff. Bfast was a bit lousy according to me though.

Staff was amazing -fantastic people. Breakfast very tasty, with variety of options. Restaurant/bar prices very reasonable. I would give it 5 starts if I could.

South AfricaHaving to leave the resort really sucked.
The staff is incredible, the view even better! They truly go out of their way to assist and make you feel welcome. The food completes the whole experience! Plenty to do and easy to book through the resort. Everything was seamless, we will definitely be going back ASAP! In our opinion, best accommodation on the island.

SwitzerlandThere are a few things to point out which may not be necessarily bad, but they are definitely important things to consider if you plan to come to this resort: - This place is quite far from the main part of the island, the main way of getting there is by a boat, and the resort asks for 150 TBH per person for each time. There is also a hiking path that you can take to go to the main part of the island (and it actually goes through a few view points, which are nice to visit), but it's something that you may only do once. Also, note that their boats are old long tail boats, and you can feel very unsafe if there are strong waves. - Most bungalows are quite old and also not well insulated/closed; there are holes everywhere (the door doesn't even close properly) and all sorts of insects, reptiles, and other things can come and go (and THEY DO). Most rooms don't have AC either, they had put two standing fans in our room and also a mosquito net, but this was not enough to make you cool at night, nor safe from the mosquitos and other insects. This could be a deal breaker for many people I believe, so make sure you take this into account if this is an important factor for you. - The whole place is not really that clean, not that they are not trying, it's just that obviously they have a different set of standards for these things. - Had some difficulties communicating with the staff in English (both before arrival via messaging and later in person).
- The restaurant's food and drinks were ok most of the time. - The beach was nice, although a bit stoney, and depending on how rough the waves are or low/high tide, you may not be able to enjoy swimming or other water activities. - Sometimes they have a fire show at night, which was a nice experience.

United KingdomThis was the worst place I have ever stayed and I have stayed all around the world from 1 star to 5 star. Me and my boyfriend paid £470 for 3 nights here over Christmas from 23rd - 26th December. As resort mentions you can only get to it by long tail boat which we didn’t mind. During the boat trip to the resort about half way a storm began. The boat was rocking back and forth and waves were splashing on over the boat soaking all of us on board. The captain of the boat began shouting in Thai and throwing us all life jackets. At this point me and 3 other girls on board were crying hysterically as it was so scary I have never been scared for my life before like how I was on this boat. I began having a panic attack and we were all screaming and crying. The boat was jumping up and down crashing against the waves and we could see the resort in sight as the weather was so bad - people on board was shouting at the captain to pull the boat in to a small bay we was passing but they were just ignoring us. Bear in mind all of luggage was also on the boat and got soaking wet in the process. When we finally arrived to the resort after the traumatising boat ride I was still crying and very shaken up and my legs were like jelly I couldn’t even walk. We got greeted by a man and lady on the reception desk who demanded we paid 150 THB per person for this boat trip. Me and my boyfriend and another couple who were on the same boat all argued that due to the boat trip being so unsafe, scary and traumatising we did not feel it was acceptable to make us pay for such a horrible boat trip. Especially as the resort is so expensive anyway and you can only access it by boat you shouldn’t have to pay for it anyway. They refused to give any discount and demanded we paid 150 each if not we can not stay - even though we can not leave the resort without getting back on the boat so we couldn’t leave.

My recent stay at Phi Phi Relax was a journey through beautiful landscapes with some notable disappointments. Access and Arrival: The unique positioning of Phi Phi Relax, accessible mainly by boat or a lengthy hike to Tonsai Pier, adds an element of adventure. However, our arrival was marred as we got completely wet, setting a somewhat damp tone to the start of our vacation. The Highlight: The private beach of Phi Phi Relax is undoubtedly its crown jewel. It offers an exclusive and peaceful retreat, far from the crowded tourist beaches, accessible only by a specific road. Room Experience: While the rooms boast breathtaking views, they fall short in terms of maintenance, which could enhance the overall experience significantly. Massage Services: A notable disappointment was the massage services. In an attempt to relax, we found the massages subpar, humorously feeling that watching a Thai boxing match might have been more relaxing. Wildlife Encounters: Travelers should be aware of the local wildlife when hiking to Tonsai Pier. We had a rather intimidating encounter with aggressive monkeys, which is worth noting for future guests. Food and Dining: The breakfast offered at Phi Phi Relax didn’t meet expectations in terms of quality and variety. Additionally, an expensive gala dinner hosted by the hotel was a letdown, with insufficient food and mediocre entertainment, except for a captivating fire show. Service: The overall service was less than satisfactory, both in daily interactions and during the special events, which didn’t quite live up to the serene beauty of the location. Final Thoughts: Phi Phi Relax, with its stunning private beach and natural setting, could be a perfect getaway. However, guests should be prepared for the challenges such as the arrival process, inconsistent service quality, underwhelming dining options, and the surprisingly disappointing massage experience. It’s a place with potential, but one that requires setting realistic...
