Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

GermanyUnfortunately breakfast was horrible! Very bland and unappetizing, we only went twice and ended up going out for breakfast for the rest of our stay. The resort has lots and lots of stairs but that's a given, being that it's build on such hilly scenery. The location is also quite far out from the rest of the island but easily reachable by scooter, though the road down is quite steep so be careful.
Beautiful location, surrounded by the best beaches in Koh Tao. Staff is very friendly, view was incredible, possible to rent scooters and snorkeling equipment directly at the resort, free shuttle from and to the ferry and the absolute most comfortable bed i've ever slept on!

JordanNothing However, just to reiterate to be careful of your footing/waves if snorkelling from the non-beach side of the peninsular. Don't hurry, and time your entrance and exit from the water between larger sets of waves.
For Koh Tao, Sai Deng is a beautiful and relaxing spot away from the hubbub of Sairee Beach. The rooms are spacious, beautiful, and very comfortable. Also, due to the design of the resort you feel like you have a little slice of the penninsular that Sao Deng sits on all to yourself with neighbouring rooms far enough away to provide some additional privacy and seclusion. The staff were fantastic, kind, diligent, and all an asset to the resort. The pool is clean with a lovely swim-up bar, food at the resort is delicious, and the daily transport to and from the Mae Haad pier was great if you wanted to go into town. Oh, and the on site Spa was fantastic. To top it off as well as a small private beach, on the opposite side of the penninsular is an amazing reef (accessible via some steps, and some slippery boulders). Yes, it's a bit of a struggle getting into the water (especially of the sea is a bit choppy), but WOW it's worth it. I usually stay at Tanote Bay for its reef... but was so pleased with the reef at Sai Deng and the ability to spot some larger marine creatures. If you got this far reading my review... bottom line is... visit Sai Deng. I will definitely be returning.

SwedenIt is a lot of stairs down to the restaurant and beach, so not perfect for children or people that mobility impairment. Sometimes it feels a bit secluded because of the location, but the resort provides free shuttle service te the pier.
The place is curated in the details, nicely designed rooms with everything you need and helpful staff is always nearby to help. The location is good for snorkling and also a good divingplace just nearby. The pool is nice and sometimes almost private.

BrazilToo many stairs but it’s good for little exercise by the morning and along the day… kkk I didn’t like much the garden room because it’s too dark and small.. but for the price it’s worth it! For our last day we asked for an upgrade and we’d got the ocean view room. Worth it 100%. Great illumination, great space, great great great ocean view! If it is possible I recommend to book the ocean view
Delicious breakfast and a excellent view to take breakfast and the other meals(not included). Great hotel crew, shuttle service included if you notice before the day you check in and check out. Free kayak activity and good price for renting snorkeling equipment!

United StatesWe didn’t feel like the quality lived up to the price, which was expensive for Thai standards. On the day we arrived the AC/generator quit working (for about an hour) so rooms were hot as heck checking in and there were some signs of neglect around the property. Our deck and deck furniture needed a new coat of stain/paint, majority of towels were frayed. Sorta nit picky stuff but for the price we expected better. We didn’t notice the more recent, negative reviews until we’d already confirmed our booking (and to cancel invoked fees).
The snorkeling was wonderful in the east bay! Beautiful location, comfortable beds, great breakfast buffet. We appreciated the shuttle into town and that the resort had scooters available for rent.

SwedenIt’s quite far from other restaurants and the main city, so with a baby it’s quite hard to move around.

United StatesUnfortunately we saw a lot of trash floating around the water and washed up on some less popular parts of the beaches and rocky areas of the resort. There also must have been a storm in the past year or so because there is a TON of broken coral along the beach which makes it uncomfortable to walk on instead of nice soft sand. I’m sure all the places on the island struggle with this, but it’s just something we noticed.
It was so beautiful, they have their own beach and 2 restaurants. It says online that breakfast is extra but it seems like they have changed that! They have a beautiful pool and lots of flowers and great views! There was someone to pick us up from the ferry which was helpful. Walking to the room is a workout but so worth it because it’s a beautiful walk.

The view in the room (beach front) and the pool was unbelievable. The Bar in the pool was really fun. They picked us up from the pier and take us back to to pier Though You need to rent a motorcycle there if you don’t want to spend a lot on Taxis, we thought the location was great.

SwedenLocation is a bit off with no restaurants nearby except for the hotel restaurant, but it takes only 5-10 min by motorbike to Sairee. Service in hotel restaurant was very unsecure and confused, took a long time to get the food. Very few sunbeds on the beach, you end up staying on the neighbouring hotel’s beds. Lots of stairs from bungalow to beach, but worth it for the view.
Beautiful location, view from our bungalow was amazing. Room was fresh although chairs on the balcony are a bit rough. Beach with top snorkelling - saw turtle, shark and stingray during our 3-day stay. Easy to rent motorbike through reception. Breakfast was good enough for our taste although not top notch. Very comfortable beds.

United KingdomA wonderful place to stay Koh Tao. Secluded and extremely relaxing, with very comfortable rooms and amenities for this price point. Staff was very welcoming and helpful. Great place to snorkel too - spotted a few baby sharks! It is true that it’s very difficult to get around the resort, and there are lots of steps and hills to get to places - but this is just how this island is and if anything it just makes it a part of the experience.
