I was in room 256 which had a lovely huge balcony and I could see the pool and the beach which was perfect! The beach was so warm and it was the cleanest patch of beach in the area. Plenty to do or just sit by one of the 3 pools. The breakfast was fantastic. The colonial style buildings were delightful. The staff were so attentive. Loved everything!

We did not like the reserving of sun lounges that went on at the main pool and the one next to it, between many guests and some of the pool attendants, even though the hotel has a policy of no pre-booking of lounges. Very annoying! For us the mattress was too hard (having back problems) and the bed a bit creaky.

We liked the heritage style of the hotel, the gorgeous expanse of gardens, the location directly on the beach and in center of town. The breakfast was scrumptious and varied. The different restaurants and/or bar and club lounge were very enjoyable. We especially liked the afternoon tea at The Museum. We booked a Premium Club Room which included generous daily offers of food, drinks, laundry services, etc.. The room was lovely and big with a terrace. Bath room a bit dated, but definitely ok and clean. The hotel will start renovations soon we were told. The staff was friendly, very helpful and competent; nothing too big a problem.

The day before our departure the minibar wasn't restocked and our consumption from previous day not recorded causing some confusion at check-out. There seem to be plans underway to destroy part of the gardens and the restaurant near the pool/beach to build some more villas. I do not believe that it will be beneficial for the guest experience.

Wonderful rooms with great balcony/terrace. Excellent breakfast with great choices and variety. Beautiful gardens throughout the property. Great menu and service at the pool/beach restaurant. Polite and helpful staff throughout. Enjoyed afternoon tea at The Museum.

Beautiful grounds and then straight onto a white sand beach....we had the club experience which I recommend..this is an amazing hotel and such helpful friendly staff ..even outside the hotel in the town everybody very friendly and helpful...

As this is our 6th stay at this hotel it has become our happy place. We like so much, especially the location as it’s right on 7km of stunning beach.

Like all the hotels in this area there are no sunbeds on the beach, there are plenty of them but situated in the gardens and around the pool. All the villas with pools are going to be demolished from April 2025 and replaced by a concrete jungle of villas. This is a major nature disaster since the architects have not taken into consideration the landscape and therefore all the beautiful trees will be removed taking away the habitat of numerous species of birds and flowers.

The grounds and gardens of the old colonial buildings are very big and beautiful which provide a very wide sea frontage. Very good breakfast, including coffee.

Absolutely nothing - we have already booked for next year!

The hotel was truly wonderful. The grounds are magnificent. Walking through them every day was a real pleasure. But the best thing about this hotel was the service. I mentioned finding it a little difficult to get in and out of our private pool because of my mobility problems. I received a phone call and then a visit from Keng and an engineer who set about solving my problem! It really was over and above and made me feel that they really do care about their guests.

Insufficient sockets for charging phones and tablets in the rooms. The room did need a bit of a refresh but this would not put us off staying again.

An excellent location near to many bars and restaurants. The staff were friendly and courteous. The well maintained gardens added to the ambience. The General Manager was very visible and appeared very proactive at resolving any issues guests had.
