Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaThe breakfast was confusing - on arrival we were asked to choose from a tick-box menu for what we would like for breakfast; however when we went to breakfast the next morning, that was disregarded, and we helped ourselves to a very lovely buffet. Not a big critique or even anything that was inconvenient, just a bit confusing.
Upscale boutique hotel with wonderful decor, beautiful rooms, fantastic beds and overall a simply brilliant experience. The breakfast was amazing, and the staff were wonderful. Very conveniently located. Not a budget option, but worth it if you have the option to splash out a little bit more, but by no means exorbitant.

AustraliaNothing.
The hotel has been beautifully decorated, and attention to detail is elegant. There are so many beautiful and peaceful sitting areas both inside and outside in their beautiful gardens. The rooms are large, clean, and again beautifully done. The restaurant is also beautiful and elegant, the breakfast options were great and the food was excellent. Staff are incredibly helpful and go over and above in their service. I would definitely stay nowhere else but Sooknirund.

GermanyFor the price, the rooms were a bit dated and the breakfast sub-par. Also, the outrageously expensive laundry service is a joke. We chose to do laundry somewhere else nearby. After 3 weeks of traveling in Thailand, this is the most expensive laundry service I have seen…
Nice location and nice architecture and decor. Very relaxing and completely clashes with the rest of the city, which I found quite nice

United StatesFirst, the room did not live up to the description provided: "1 living room and 1 separate bedroom". What we found instead was a cushioned setting under the windows next to the bed. This discrepancy was misleading. Additionally, we were disappointed by the lack of English proficiency among the staff, which made communication difficult. Unlike other hotels we've stayed at in SEA, we found the staff to be unhelpful when it came to assisting us with booking tours and taxis. The comfort of the room left much to be desired. The mattress was hard, and the water temperature in the shower was inconsistent, fluctuating between extremely hot and cold. Although we appreciated the complimentary bottle of wine we received on our last night as a gesture of gratitude for staying four nights, it did little to make up for the overall dissatisfaction. Moreover, we found the hotel to be stingy with essential amenities such as toilet paper and coffee pods, providing only one roll and two pods per day. However, we did appreciate the provision of complimentary robes and bottled water. On a positive note, laundry services were available, but we found them to be expensive compared to nearby alternatives. In conclusion, while the Sooknirund Hotel has its merits, such as its location and aesthetic appeal, we ultimately felt that it fell short of its reputation and did not provide the level of comfort and service we expected, especially given the price point.
Our experience at Sooknirund Hotel left us feeling rather disappointed, especially considering the hype surrounding it. While the hotel's location was undoubtedly convenient and the hotel's aesthetic and ambience were pleasant, we found several aspects of our stay to be below expectations.

JapanOverall it's good, no major issue, but the loft room that we booked didn't feel as spacious as we imagined it to be; eventually going up and down the stairs was troublesome. Some other rooms has smell issue from the bathroom, too. (Room 108). Receptionist staffs are okay, overall, but I think they can be more proactive. We arrived early at 11:30AM, and with minimum interaction we were told off with "Check in from 2PM". No offer to help with our luggage. First impression counts, and I can't say that's a welcoming one. Also, we asked them to help with booking a car for a day trip. They called back, told us it's 4,500 THB per day, from 9AM until evening, no time limit. We agreed and confirmed. The next day, the driver came, but he told us he's been waiting since 8AM and have to be back by 5PM. We had to rush back. Seemed like there's a miscommunication. Restaurant staffs are great, though.
Superb location, right in front of the Clock Tower. It's also located near the local market, so walking around the areas really give an unique experience. Many bars, night markets, too. Also, we stayed there during New Year, and to our surprise, Chiang Rai's broadcasted new year event was right in front of the hotel! The roads in front of the hotel were blocked and filled with open air tables and chairs set. Really exclusive location. Nice charming interior designs.

Hong Kongdespite the most staff members being friendly, but on our last day when we checked out, they charged our credit card a second time by error, and this was voided after a while without informing us, we were notified by our bank of this transaction half hour later that we were worried and spent another half hour to clarify the issue.
the location is just about 30 meters from the clock tower, very convenient.
