Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Hong KongFrom start to finish this was amazing! Room was delightful, so funky but with everything needed and a lovely outdoor area. Staff were so friendly and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. We loved the main pool, fabulous for our little one, and the breakfast buffet was wonderful.

SlovakiaI did not like the quality of the drinks that can be ordered to the pool. Strawberry milkshake from a ice cream and no hint of real fruit?
Breakfast, Atmosphere and great nature inside the hotel.

Breakfast wasn’t the only great thing about the hotel, but speaking of breakfast, I really appreciated how the hotel considered all possible details, including families with children. The menu offered something for absolutely everyone, with options to suit every taste and preference for food and drinks.

Loved the architecture and the space. Had a pool room which had an awesome outside space/garden - deck, sun beds, table. You can be at this hotel and not see another person. Total relax. We were initially put off because of proximity to the airport and thought we might hear planes all day. This was not the case and actually, arrive Phuket and you are 5 mins from the hotel and your holiday. Perfect location.

United KingdomThe only very small inconvenience was the bathroom lighting not being great (but easy to overlook in the grand scheme of how great everything else is)
Close to the airport and the beach, great option for a quiet and relaxing stay but also offers tons of activities on and off site, amazing spa, lovely and very helpful staff, quick service, incredible pools, big and comfortable rooms, lots of good and cheap food options right outside the resort

GermanySuper minor thing, like the bathroom light, too dim for the evening make-up.
The garden, the silence, the discretion, the accommodation, the food, the pools, the sea proximity; last, bit not least, the service. The Slate exceeded our expectations and we just can wait to return …

United KingdomBooking.com had a restriction that once I booked, I couldn't modify my reservation without canceling the entire trip. A few days after booking—several months before our arrival—I noticed that I had mistakenly booked to arrive a day early. As a result, I ended up paying for a night's accommodation when we hadn’t yet arrived in Thailand. Neither Booking.com nor the hotel allowed me to cancel the extra night without canceling the entire four-night booking, which was non-refundable. Given that we were charged for a night we didn’t stay, the very least the hotel could have done was offer us a complimentary airport transfer. However, that didn’t happen, and we were still charged a couple of hundred Baht for the transfer.
We love the Slate so much. This is our third time staying there, and we absolutely love Nai Yang beach. Everything is perfect. We will be back next year no doubt.

RussiaYou need to pay for all hotel activities
The Slate is awesome. It is situated only 10 minutes by car from Phuket airport. We travel with the small child (4 months) and our room was comfortably situated on first floor, so close to the main restaurant and swimming pool. The design of the hotel is magnificent. The territory is very green and shady. The public beach — long and clean — only 5 minutes away from the hotel. The breakfasts are to die for.

United StatesThat I didn’t know everything I knew now In order to Maximize my stay. ….
Everything you can think of they provided. They will always exceeded your expectations. There’s a morning Buffet that changes every day and it has everything from Asian, North and South American dishes. There are four different restaurants on site. There’s a daycare that is included in the cost for your children. Every SINGLE day every 2hrs there’s something for them to do and it’s FREE . I’ve attended 4 throughout my 2week stay. We created a candle, bracelets for our children, tote bags, pom-poms and more, which provided several souvenirs for Family at no cost to me just time. There is a tennis court, gym, kids pool 3 adult pools, 2 infinity pools, 1 pool swim bar. There’s transport throughout the entire compound, to and from every event you can think of as well as to and from the airport and to your front door . When leaving out the compound, the sand 2 the beach is less than 600 feet away. The ocean is less than 2000 feet. There’s street food, cabanas and convenience stores. Everything you can ask for around the compound. The Slate offers, bikes and scooters. They will book events for you and a way to get there. There’s a store that sells everything you have in your bedroom from the actual bed, sheets, towels, soaps and fragrances, too the appliances holding up the sink. I am not exaggerating whatsoever. I’ve made a TikTok Instagram and Facebook post about how exceptional the slate hotel is. I will forever stay on this compound, regardless of where I am visiting throughout Thailand. I never travel with my children because they are young adults. However, this compound makes you want to bring all ages of children and family because there’s something for everyone to do in plenty of space to do it. They have currency exchanges on site as well as prayer sections for those who are religious. There an app to contact every aspect of the compound. You never have to speak to actual person.

United Arab EmiratesI had an incredible stay at The Slate Hotel in Phuket! From the moment I arrived, the attention to detail and exceptional service stood out. The design of the hotel is stunning—luxurious, modern, and with a unique industrial-chic vibe that sets it apart. The rooms were spacious, beautifully decorated, and immaculately clean, with every amenity thoughtfully provided. The pools were breathtaking, offering a perfect spot to relax, and the lush tropical surroundings added to the serene ambiance. The dining options were phenomenal, with a variety of delicious cuisines and impeccable service at each restaurant. The breakfast spread was especially impressive! The staff went above and beyond to ensure my stay was perfect—they were warm, friendly, and always available to assist. The location was also ideal, close to the beach yet peaceful and secluded. The Slate is truly a gem in Phuket, and I can’t recommend it highly enough. I’ll definitely be returning! Feel free to tweak it based on your specific experience!
