Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Absolutely no privacy, very simple bunks with no curtains/privacy screens whatsoever. If you’re on the top bunk you’re basically sharing the space with your neighbor as the “wall” separating the bunks is about 10cm tall, not cool. Towel not included.

It near “ the Rasta bar” so you could hear the loud music, specially on the weekends. Also the beds don’t have curtains on the shared dorms in the beds, so anyone can look at what you are doing .
The friendly staff, super helpful at all times .

The only thing we slightly didnt like, and it is mentioned when you are booking, is the music next door, saying that it doesn’t go on late and the hotel provide ear plugs.
White Jail is central to everything, a sort walk from the ferries (saves time and hassle with taxis). We stayed in a double room at the back of the property which was ideal for us.

Even the dorms and their toilets were clean and hostel is location friendly. Everywhere is walking distance, for the highlight of the island if you are staying in this hostel most of the places are in walking distance . Great bonus free coffee and tea and refill your water bottles.

The staff were so kind and accommodating, they let us leave our backpacks before the check in and after the check out and we really appreciated that. Nice location, close enough to the pier.

We had a private room, the room was damp. Beds quite hard. The walls are very thin so it is like you are lying in the reggae bar at night trying to sleep!

They warned us about the bar next door but not about the fact our room was underneath the patio where people would be hanging out and playing jenga until 1am. Was quite loud and right overhead which was disappointing considering we paid more for a nice private room.

Nice location near pier and many restaurants. Very clean and the beds are comfortable. Lots of room in the dorms for bags. Lockers in room require you to have your own padlock.

I had top bunk, which would be fine, but these beds were really high and my bed didn't have any support on either side. I was really scared to sleep because I felt that I can fell down from both sides if I slightly move in my sleep

The bar next door very loud until really late. During the whole day it has music so no moment of silence. Neither im the room or on the chill areas. No curtains for the bed. Not enough space to display your items and luggage

Very nice and well located hostel. Clean rooms, good ac and the rooms are big enough. All the staff is very friendly. Aof and Gung at the reception are great. Very helpful, communicative and a very good team. Without them, the place would not feel the same. I stay definitely again in "white jail" on my next trip.

Nothing at all!
The room i stayed in was clean and spacious. It was way above my expectations, with the glass doors letting in natural light onlooking the trees. There was music from the bar next door (which I thoroughly enjoyed listening to for the evening) it was loud, however it quietened down from 11:30 and after that, with the earbuds provided I had a great nights sleep! Location is great, near to the pier which worked for convenience but also close enough to the main areas

Obviously the music next door but it did stop at latest 1.30am while we stayed there so we still got a full nights sleep.
Perfect hostel if you won’t be going to sleep until until 12.30/1.30am. Music from bar next door most evenings is loud but bearable apart from if you get unlucky with one guy early on in the evening sounds like he’s having an exorcism
