The hotel is being renovated, not all the rooms are new, we were put in a old room which was worn-out, with uncomfortable bed, non functioning flush, and water clogging shower, we were told this is the "standard room" that we had booked, but luckily enough one of the staff members moved us to the new room which was comfortable. Another challenge was that they conducted the renovation works at midnight, which as very disturbing. Perhaps that was due to Ramadan.

The location of the property is really nice, right on the main avenue walking distance to medina. The staff were helpful as well accommodating our request of changing the room and guiding us with sightseeing

The air Cond was difficult to use, the LED controls on the Wall panel didn’t respond to finger warmth Well. I ser it to aircond but it was on heat and made it very difficult to sleep. I had to open the window for some cool air after turning off the control panel.

There was a cook who makes fresh omelette and crepe if you want. There was some hot and cold choices of food items.

The restaurant closes early. Some of the standard rooms face an adjacent building and are dark and feel a bit claustrophobic.

Only one thing: it would have been nice if the restaurant had been open for dinner as well, but I understand it was slow season.

The staff were very kind and helpful, especially Semah at the front desk during daytime shifts. The cleaning staff were always very efficient and fast, and the guys at the door were always looking out for me - Thanks everyone! Breakfasts were brilliant: whatever you want, sweet or savory, and some excellent Tunisian touches - superb coffee.

Noisy, as always! First time I booked a room in Carlton hotel, it was in 1997 before the internet and Booking app. I remember it was old fashioned and noisy. Now, it gets huge renovation, but still noisy. Can't believe that the maintenance guy was drilling something in the wall at 8 AM in the morning, and when he stopped the cleaning lady come with Hoover machine to sweep the corridor! Unbelievable! (Otherwise everything was perfect)

I always enjoy staying at the Carlton. The hotel has a perfect location if you want to be at the heart of old Tunis and the main avenue of the capital. Staff working in the reception are always friendly and kind. It is easy to find a taxi to go to the airport at any time of the day/night!

Great location and nice reception staff members. My great thanks to Immad and Mohammed for offering me a free upgrade. The view from the balcony was amazing during the rainy days. Additionally the room furniture takes you back to the pre 60's architecture.

Room was small with 3 little beds while I booked for a double bed. Not the same as shown on the picture. The facilities are a bit old and the property is not that clean.

Hotel said they would arrange a shuttle for my early morning flight, but on arrival they said they could not do so and I should get a taxi. That worked fine and taxi was cheap at 5am but it was poor service. Otherwise all was very good.
