Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomNoting some of the typical elements of budget hotels, in case improvements can be made (interiors are quite shabby with exposed wires, broken lock on bathroom door, air freshener covers up bad smells from drains). The restaurant is quite expensive and there's no tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms, if you rely on that.
This is a good budget hotel. If you're expecting 4-5 stars, it's not for you. It has a great location. Very easy walk into the souk, and is in a peaceful quiet street. The traditional architecture is very pleasant to sleep in. The staff were helpful, we got advice for restaurants and tips of how to get to the airport. The hotel is only a short walk from the taxi street as the road isn't accessible by car. Takes 2mins.

PolandNothing, was great.
It look just like on the pictures! I got upgraded for free and literally felt like a princess in this huge apartment with huge bed and tall ceilings. Breakfast is nice. Wifi works great. Its in middle of Medina. The staff is helpful and even walked me to the taxi cuz it was evening. I also paid little more and was able to stay till evening in room before check out.

GermanyService was terrible, breakfast was way too simple (and flies were to be seen flying around the food), and for a hotel that allegedly has 5 stars, this is just unacceptable.
The room was amazing. But that was it in terms of positive things.

ItalyA fantastic palace in the middle of the medina, a dream location. Beautiful interiors, authentic hand painted majolicas on the walls, both in the room and in the common areas of the palace. Great breakfast in Tunisian style, with lot of dry fruits, local cheese. Excellent service by Mariam, who manages the breakfast for the guests.

United StatesA small coffee machine in the room would be nice.
Location couldn’t be better - immediately adjacent to the marketplace. The room was literally palatial (go figure!). The front desk staff went above and beyond to welcome, guide/advise, recommend, translate, and otherwise make themselves available as if we were family.

AustraliaThere was nothing I didn't like :)
Room was spacious and clean. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful with traditional lighting and mosaiques, and there are great facilities onsite (spa and restaurant). I had a massage and a hammam - both of which were relaxing and reasonably priced. The food at the restaurant was delicious. The staff are lovely and very accomodating. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Tunis.

United KingdomThere was no hot water upon our arrival, and we had to shower in a separate way as the staff did not change our room. spent 2 hours waiting and had to keep asking for alternative arrangements, especially after a long flight. One evening no electricity in room for 2 hours. All the facilities mentioned were not there,no phone in room to call reception. No currency exchange service, as mentioned. No information regarding spa or restaurant provided in room or reception or anywhere or any directions given to where the spa was or here breakfast will be served. Breakfast was a hit and miss. Some days, it was fresh, but other days, bread was stale. Worst hotel experience for us ever and I travel very frequently. 3 star at best. No climate control in the room got dehydrated from hot air. Cleaning service not done unless you ask and leave room keys at reception. This information not shared at check in. Will demand a refund.
Staff trying to be helpful. Traditional Look. Lemonade at breakfast.

ItalyOur experience in this hotel was VERY DISAPPOINTING. Please read this before booking: When we arrived to the hotel, they asked us to pay the full price and after that we had the key of the room. However, the room wasn’t the room we booked!!! They said the hotel is full and only tomorrow we can sleep in the room we booked. Moreover, the room they gave us for the first day was very dark and smelled SEWAGE which was unacceptable and very uncomfortable. They never apologize for this discomfort and sadly they NEVER informed us about the room change before charging us the full price which is DISHONESTY!!!! They kept saying no problem the other day you move and that’s it!!! As we payed the full price for disgusting SEWAGE smell room , we asked for refund. However they wanted to compensate with other things such as hamam which we weren’t interested in. So,we didn’t receive any apology and didn’t get refunded either for this disappointing experience. The other day when we managed to change the room, they kept asking is it okay now, are you satisfied with the room? I mean… That was the room we booked and we payed the full price for the SEWAGE smell room and what do you mean by is it okay now??? They never collected the trash, didn’t even organize the room, cleaning is totally unacceptable and the toilet smells disgusting. Last but not least, during check out the lady in the reception asked us if we used the minibar and we said no. Then she sent someone to check the room to justify if we are saying the truth!!! It’s unfortunate, because it’s such a beautiful historical palace which has a great potential of becoming one of the highlights of the city, but because of the management and behavior it turns out to be a 5-star hotel SCAM! I wish I had seen other reviews before booking because some other people had the same experience before us. I hope this review helps for the future bookings.

United KingdomThe appalling organisation and service. The breakfast provision is a joke. Cereals proudly on display but no milk or bowls to eat them out of and don’t dare ask for these things to be supplied. The staff are sensitive to any implied criticism and take hours to respond to requests.
It is a beautiful old building not well maintained.

DenmarkWell, it was located in a maze so it was extremely difficult to find and I got lost trying to get back during one evening. I also didn't feel to save in the environment around the hotel and we had a hard time communicating with some of the staff as we could not speak the local language or french. Also, no door on the bathroom in the room, which was a bit uncomfortable.
The room was nice, very old decor and had a certain vibe to it that was cool. The restaurant in the hotel also had some nice food even though the ambiance there was too quiet.

NetherlandsI am not even sure where to start. This people are scamming their guests in any way possible. We stayed 2 nights in total and escaped from this place 1 day earlier. The room they gave us in our first night seemed fine as we dropped of our luggage and left the room. There was a heavy room perfume, but we didn’t mind it. After we returned to our room in the evening, there was a DISGUSTING SEWAGE SMELL in the room. So naturally, we tried to air the room a bit by opening the entrance door but it didn’t work at all. So we used our perfume to fix it, it worked only for 5 minutes. In this “peaceful” 5 minutes, we discovered that fitted sheets were full of hairs and dirts. Then, DISGUSTING SEWAGE SMELL came back. We did what everyone would do in our situation: I went down to the reception to complain. Well, I was naive. There was no one in the reception, and security person was snoring so loud in the entrance. So I went back to my room and sprayed the room again in shifts in every 5-10 minutes until me and my partner both passed out. Next day, I found the reception lady and called her to our room. She was also immediately DISGUSTED by the SEWAGE smell and changed the room. I said I went down in the evening to complain but there was no one. And receptionist replied: “sorry, we were fully booked yesterday.” Sheets we were given in the new room were was also dirty. We complained again and they changed it. They just play fool and act surprised when you address the problems. So, we were so disgusted by their behaviour and traumatised by the DISGUSTING SEWAGE SMELL, that I am pretty sure we lost our sense of smell (and our trust in humanity) at some point and decided to leave the place earlier. Side story: let me tell you something about the breakfast. It is served the evening before actually, when they host a party in the common area (in case you didn’t have a problem sleeping yet).
The only thing that I liked about this property is the exit door, knowing that we will never come back.
