How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The property is on perfect location. Close to Istanbul main attractions. The hotel is nice and small. Room for three could be bigger. The biggest issue was cleanliness. They should imrove that. We talked with manager about it and next day cleaning service was better...overall i would recomment this hotel

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Basilissis Hotel in the heart of Istanbul, and I couldn't be more delighted with my experience. Here's why I highly recommend this hotel: Perfect the cleanliness of the hotel was absolutely top-notch. I felt comfortable and safe throughout my entire stay. The staff of Basilissis Hotel, especially Manager Harun, went above and beyond to make my stay memorable. Their hospitality and willingness to assist with any request were truly remarkable. Unbeatable I can't emphasize enough how perfect the location is. The hotel is situated right in the center of Istanbul, making it incredibly convenient to access all the city has to offer. Tram stations, taxis, restaurants, and historical sites are all within walking distance. You can't ask for a better location in Istanbul. Delicious and Fresh the breakfast served at this hotel was a highlight of my mornings. The food was not only delicious but also freshly prepared, ensuring a delightful start to each day. Excellent Wi-Fi coverage whether you're in your room or in the common areas. In summary, my stay at Basilissis Hotel was exceptional. If you're planning a trip to Istanbul and want a well-located hotel with fantastic staff and delicious breakfast, look no further. It's clear that they offer a great experience at a reasonable price. Location was perfect, (very close to Hagia Sophia/ Blue mosque/ tram station/ shopping) Staff were extremely helpful responding immediately to any requests. We really enjoyed the breakfast with a good range of options, and once again staff were continuously making sure they were topping up fresh breakfast supplies. I would definitely recommend and would definitely Rebook when I visit again

Clean rooms and frendly staff. Fresh towels and toiletries were provided daily. Hotel is at central location for easy exploration (tram station is 2 minutes from hotel).

The location was excellent being close to the Basilica Cistern and the Hagia Sofia but in a quiet side street. The decor was clean with modern furnishings. The staff were really helpful, particularly the evening receptionist who gave us some great ideas for exploring the Asian side of the city. The breakfast was very good with lots of local dishes as well as the regular continental dishes.

We didn't really like the breakfast. It could have bigger variety and have better quality.

What bothered us a bit were the dirty tables during breakfast. We were the first guests down for breakfast every day and we would find all the tables dirty. Staff could be more attention during breakfast and also the coffee could be better but everything else was great.
The location is perfect for exploring the city, the rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff are friendly and helpful, breakfast was good.

Everything was perfect! The hotel is just a couple of minutes walk to Topkapi palace and Aya Sofia. Very kind and polite staff, speaking excellent English, Russian and other languages. Breakfast was absolutely stunning, very versatile and rich. Daily room cleaning. I would recommend this hotel to all travelers looking for a good few days accommodation in Sultanahmet district.

Not sure if there were any but we couldn't find any mugs for tea and coffee. Again not sure if we simply couldn't find them but the TV channels were also all in turkish, struggled to find anything in english.
The staff were very helpful and the hotel is in a central location close to the major tourist attractions. The room wasn't fancy but had all that you need.

Very close to the main atractions - Haha sophia, Topkapi palace, Grand bazar. There is also the turistic city center with all the caffes, restaurants etc.
