Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustriaWifi speed is too low, and is it not suitable for working or for basic searching whatsoever. What left me a bad impression was the other manager of the hostel: In my opinion, he was impolite and did not acted in a way I expect a manager should do. During the cleaning time we were asked to leave the common area even though no one disturbed the cleaning procedures.
The hostel is located in a centtral area in Ankara; grocery stores nearby, so does a metro station. The property is cleaned daily and well-kept. Downstairs there is kitchen suitable for basic cooking. Beds are comfortable; there are plugs on the wall so you can charge your phone. Curtains installed too. Berkay, one of the managers, is intelligent, friendly and sociable, and we had some interesting conversations together which I appreciated much!

NetherlandsThere were some minor deficiencies in the room that could be fixed, like the shower head couldn’t be attached, there was no toilet paper, and we only had 1 electrical socket in a room for 2 people.
People working here are extremely friendly! Simple hostel that is a nice and cosy place to stay in Ankara. We stayed in a private room which was clean and comfortable. There is a large shared kitchen if you want to cook yourself. This is a great spot to meet fellow travellers.

NetherlandsMy upper bunk did not have a blockade to prevent me from falling down. A light in the bunk is missing. Extending your stay felt a bit complicated on site so I recommend extending online.
I most definitely like the facilities. This hostel and my room was spacious however during the autumn when it got fresher they don't have a lot of inside sitting area. The room was warm and spacious, had a table and a plug. I was able to store my bicycle and gear at the location while I was away for a few days. I think the staff was quite helpful. Especially berkhai was creating a nice atmosphere in the hostel. You will like your stay here.

FranceThe room could be cleaner (sticky floor) and the door of our private bathroom was close to falling apart. There is also a lack of electric sockets in the rooms, one (hanging from the wall) is not enough. As others mentionned, we were charged more upon arrival than the reservation price on booking (+ 4euros). That's the only place in Turquey were I got these "exchange fees" charged with my international card.
Localisation, flexibility regarding check in/check out hours, friendly staff.

NetherlandsMy first impressions weren't quite good. While checking in my shoes were sticking to the floor. Then the bed's mattress that I was first assigned to was worn and uncomfortable. I checked a few other mattresses in the room and found one that was fine and I was able to change beds.
Excellent location in the city centre, a stone's throw from the metro station. The guy working the evening shift is talkative and adds a social atmosphere to the hostel.

TurkeyHonestly, I didn’t like their greediness. Apart from that everything was just okay. The greed started during checkout. I told them I might stay one more night, I wasn’t sure about my time in Ankara at that time and asked them “Can I store my luggage?” They charged me 100 Lira for this. I’ve stayed in hundreds of hotels/hostels up to now and this was the first time I paid for the luggage storage during checkout. Still, it was okay. I’ve returned to the hostel around 10PM, and I told them I want to stay for that night as well. The guy at the reception said okay, but asked me to pay by cash this time (Probably for no VAT, no income tax and also no commission to booking this time). I paid by credit card the day before. This was also okay. I told them give me 5 minutes and I’ll withdraw some money. As a last step, he told me that the room rate is a bit higher than yesterday’s. At that time I had already checked on booking.com, and it was same as yesterday’s. By the way I also didn’t ask for any kind of discount or bargain. So this was a tipping point and I fed up with his greediness. The extra amount he asked for was a small amount, but it doesn’t matter. The moment they feel like you need them, their endless requests starts and I felt like it’s not gonna end. I decided to stay somewhere else. I ended up paying double the amount but happy to do that. It’s called discipline.
For that value of money, clean, central location and safe.

Czech RepublicThe apartment wasn´t really clean - toilet and the bathroom was probably the worst. The bed had a weird smell. The bed is HORRIBLE - when you sleep, the matress goes down around the area where is your head, so you sleep upside down basically... I woke up with a huge headache the first night and so I had to sleep on only half of the bed that does not do that. I really did not get any good sleep during my stay due to this issue. If they fix this, then the apartment will be absolutely fine to stay in :))
The location is good, the apartment has a normal shower (most places in turkey have just a tiny shower right above the toilet:D ) , so I appreciated that. There is a balcony as well. When we asked for the shower drain to be cleaned, the staff cleaned it so I also appreciate the help:)

United StatesThe reception guy didn't have patience for me to pay with my new (to me) digital card, so it cost me $2 USD more to pay with a different card to make his job easier.
Easy access to public transportation. Good showers, spacious kitchen, comfortable bed. I was only there for 4 hours to rest and shower after taking the Dogu Express from Kars and before a domestic flight. I didn't sleep, but the bed was comfortable. There was also a nice garden.
