Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

ChinaThe owner is very kind and helpful. I missed the bus after check-out and he drove me to the destination.. very friendly people who genuinely care about their guests. Nearby sceneries are especially beautiful especially the tea gardens. The room is a bit cold during cold weather as there was no heater. But there is a heated mattress so it's ok.

TaiwanThe host picked us up (and dropped us off, later) at the bus station. It’s either a quick 5 min drive, or a 15-30min walk up a few uphills to get there from the Shizhuo bus station, so we were very grateful to get a free ride. The B&B is on a tea farm, and has beautiful hikes all around, through other tea farms and bamboo forests with breathtaking mountain views. The room had an incredible sunrise and sunset view, and we were provided with everything we needed, including lots of tea. Breakfast was also incredible. Thanks for a great stay

The owners were very friendly. I enjoyed the view with my breakfast and viewing the sunset from my balcony. For a tea lover, staying at the tea plantation and learning the art of tea were the highlight of our trip.

PhilippinesInaccesibility to buy food like to convenience store . There is no public transportation or easy access like Uber to be able to go to stores in case you need something like food or toiletries. Hope the community of home stay in the mountain area can provide like a public transport for tourist and locals going around. This will serve as transport to go around the mountain area and to the commercial places like restaurants and convenience stores.
the place is excellent for relaxation . With the majestic view of the mountains.

United StatesThe property is right on the tea farm. Our rooms had good views of the sunrise. The owner was very generous to serve us tea from his farm. The tea that he served was very good. The beds were equipped with electric blankets which was a big plus in the cool mountain area. Also, the location is very close to all the hiking trails.

United StatesThe property and our room had a beautiful view of the mountains, clouds, tea farms, sunrise and sunset. The room was spacious, the shower water was plentiful and hot, and the heated mattress pad was cozy (bring layers of warm clothing if you go in the winter - Alishan is high and chilly!). Breakfast was ample and delicious. The host was exceptionally helpful and friendly; he and his wife kindly picked us up and dropped us off at the Shizhou bus station and gave us recommendations for lovely hikes on the nearby tea trails and an excellent restaurant in town. He also helped us microwave food we had purchased. We learned a lot about oolong tea from him during the tasting of their farm's excellent tea. We definitely recommend Siangting B&B and would return!

NetherlandsQuite pricey for what it was, although it seems the whole area is quite expensive relative to the rest of Taiwan (from what we'd seen anyway).
Incredible location, and very comfortable facilities. The host was kind enough to pick us up at the train station in the next village.

Australiahost is very accommodating. Fabulous views. Tasty filling breakfast changed each day. Excellent parking. Instant hotel water and fridge-freezer in small buffet next to room. They will collect to and from town but better if you have your own transport, as we did.

United StatesAs an FYI, either bring food with you for dinner or expect a long round trip (by foot) to the main town.
The owner was very communicative, I didn't struggle for information even with the language barrier. He was helpful picking me up / dropping me off from the bus station. It was great trying the tea he makes.

United KingdomThe property is located in the middle of the tea trails. The terrace is absolutely amazing! You can have breakfast there enjoying the gorgeous view and the misty air (and the company of the cutest cat ever). The room was exceptionally clean and spacious, with all the necessary for a comfortable stay. The host was incredible; he was extremely responsive over message before our arrival and once we were there, he was very available and lovely. He offered to drop us and pick us up from the nearest bus station, he gave us tips about the trails and the area around and he was definitely the highlight of our stay!

GermanyThere was no A/C, but the temperature in this area was cold enough, so it's not really needed. The hotel is a bit far away(walking would probably take at least 30mins) from the train station fenchihu, you'll definitely need a car (which only takes around 6mins). But we saw the owner driving another guest to, probably, the train station, so it shouldn't be a big deal.
The owner was very friendly and very helpful. The owner tried to help as much as possible. He offered to take us to alishan for morning sun rise for an adequate price. Since we had rented our own car, we needn't his offer. Though it was a bit of a challenge to get from Taichung by car up to the hills in fenchihu! The view from our room was stunning! You can eat your breakfast (which was cooked by the owner and was very delicious) outside and enjoy the stunning view! It was very beautiful. Room was big and had everything you needed.
