Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyNext to Thermal Valley and very close to Beitou park with the Hot Spring Museum and the famous public Library. A littel bit up the hill. The bath tub in the room was wonderful.

FinlandDespite the price and fantastic facilities and location, there hotel does NOT INCLUDE breakfast. Additionally, many of these hotels are actually slightly older. What this typically means is that there are rather FEW electrical outlets inside the rooms, and not located next to each of the end tables. Thus, both people can't plug in their devices for charging at night on the bedside. Many of these older places, including here, really need an electrical upgrade.
The location was quite nice, just a bit out of the way up the hill for coming up to there on foot. But a lovely hotel and property in and out. We stayed the night before Valentine's Day, and actually got a free room upgrade to a slightly larger, nicer room. The bathroom is of course amazing, the hot springs and big Japanese style tub is always worth the stay!

United StatesThere was a lot of humidity inside the building and the sight and smell of mildew made it unpleasant and, at times, difficult to breathe. It was necessary to maintain a constant airflow with the fans.
The staff was extraordinary. They went out of their way to ensure that we had the best stay possible. Any issues were with the age of the facility, which was beyond their control. The daily service was also very good and the place was clean and cared for to the best of staffs’ ability. There was also a nice area for tea, coffee and snacks that was well appreciated.

TaiwanI entered the room with dirty towel on the tub and the bed sheets is a little bit dirty. But I snatched the room with crazy low price of 571 so I wouldn't care. Despite the two dirty things. Everything else is clean. With the price, it's a great bargain, but I don't think it is its usual price
the spring is very nice

CanadaThe view was of an old derelict building. The snacks were junk food. The balconies are in need of mould removal and refurbishing. The bathroom balcony is shared with an adjacent unit and both bathroom windows can be easily accessed by the other. The wifi wasn’t secure.
The location was calm peaceful and close to attractions. The private ensuite hot spring hot tub was the highlight.

ItalyThe room is a tad dated, although it did not affect our stay. There was a lingering smell of cigarettes, but it did not bother us that much.
We had a great time. The place is just a short walk from the MRT, although it was a bit uphill. So, there are services reachable by foot including a couple of convenient stores. The room is very nice, especially the hot tub. The reception waited for us even though we arrived quite late. Great experience.

TaiwanThis said, I feel the online photos of this place did not accurately capture the hotel. I stayed in one of the small double rooms. Initially I was put into a room without a window. I asked the staff it it was possible to have a room with a window - the staff were extremely helpful and showed me two other (smaller) rooms with a window that were available. It seems that all the small double rooms, or all of the non-suite rooms, only have no windows or rooms with windows into the alleyway. This feels a bit misleading as the photos online in which the blinds are open for the windows show tree tops. Again, staff was very kind and in hind sight there is a photo of the small double room online, which is basically just a bed and a tub, but if there was an accurate description of the room online I would have booked something different. If you are sensitive to noise, this hotel will not be for you.
The staff at this hotel were extremely kind and helpful. The area around the hotel is nice to walk through.

MalaysiaIt is still a little far away from all the places that sells food and necessities, quite tiring to get to the hotel on foot for those that travel using public transport.
The location is strategic to visit all other Beitou attractions. Not much vehicle around the area and air is very clean.

AustraliaThis hotel was probably very grand in its "hay day," but it is dated now. They have a coffee machine and some snacks available in what looks like an abandoned dining room.. but no sugar. Reception staff couldn't provide sugar. It was one of the most expensive hotels that we stayed at in Taiwan, and it was far from the best. Overpriced for what was offered The bed was comfortable.
The hotel is close to the public thermal pools

AustraliaMouldy and aged. The hotel needs a renovation. We paid a lot for the room because it was the weekend and it seems they double or triple the price on the weekend. But for one or two nights it’s kind of worth the dinginess to have a hot spring in your room.
The hot spring bath was amazing. It was kind of funky and weird to have it in the room - it was literally half of the room haha! But we enjoyed it. The water was so hot and nice, and the tub was huge!

GermanyThe bed was a bit small for 2 persons. It could have come with 2 blankets as well.
The room had a spa with thermal sulfur water coming directly to the bathtub. It was really pleasant, also the lion head sculptured in stone which was the water tap from which water came directly from its mouth. The hotel staff were very friendly and helped the day after checkout to recover a forgotten object. Many thanks for that!
