Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. The walk from the station and the street are not very attractive and you must advise your time of arrival as we could not phone the local number from our phones when we arrived and the host was on lunch break
Clean large quad room for two was great value at $57 US. Close to the centre of town and the Confucian temple and 15 minute walk from train. Friendly host very clean and comfortable bed

No elevator, but we just needed to carry things up once and down once, so we managed.

Note that breakfast is not served at this location, but we were able to use the guest vouchers in neighboring establishments. For some English speakers, it is a little awkward to translate the information about partnering companies. You must download the QR, find the English names of the restaurants, maybe use a translation app for the Chinese-only names, and google map each to find the location, menu and hours. This can't be done without an iphone or similar device. Not a problem, just a note.
Our family room was beautiful and bright, with a beautiful view of the city. The lounge, library, and kitchen were relaxing, comfortable, and beautiful.

Had to climb up steep staircase to get to the room.

A very pleasant stay! Beds and toilet were very clean, which was such a pleasure to return to at the end of a long day. Location was good. Very walkable to local eateries and attractions like the Tainan Art Museum in the West District of Tainan. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and the complementary fruit platter was a nice touch!

The room was a little noisy at night.
The staff were super friendly, helped us to get settled when we arrived early and to book a taxi when we left. Loved the extra touches like fruit on arrival and the map of good food places. Very cool vibe. Great location. Would definitely recommend!

No lift. The stairs space are narrow and difficult to carry a luggage up.

The property doesn’t have an elevator and has fairly steep stairs so carrying the luggage up and down can be an issue for certain people. Also, it requires guests to change into the provided slippers inside the place. Not sure this is a good hygiene practice as well as safety practice - wearing the slippers up and down the stairs can easily lead to some tripping accidents. And, they don’t take credit card.
The facility is quite new and things are in a great shape. Also guests were given fresh fruit and shrimp crackers upon arrival - very nice gesture. Staff is very helpful.

Got a nice and clean area to sleep and you could just spend 3 or more hours to use the B & B public facilities. BTW hotel staff service attitude is excellent which I will back there again if I travel to Tainan in future.

There is no lift, but you might get a room on the 4th floor. It will be inconvenient for people with heavy luggage or seniors.
The property is spotless, and no shoes allow after the ground floor. The kid's soft play is amazing, my 18-month-old daughter enjoyed a lot. It's not difficult to find parking on the street during the night.

It is a hostel without lift, so for family with members who are not convenient to use stairs has to reconsider.
Overall is clean and the location is good. The boss is very responsive!
