Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaCuiti was very clean and comfortable. The location is about 45-minutes walk from town but we enjoyed the quiet and thought the location was lovely. The sunsets over the tea fields were beautiful. The B&B offers breakfast, which we found very filling. For dinner we ate next door for one night and cooked in the shared kitchen the next night.

United StatesThe only challenge was that I arrived on foot having taken public transportation. This location is best accessed with a car. Pick up service to and from the bus stop would have made it perfect.
Beautiful place and surroundings. Very kind hosts. Accessible hiking from doorstep.

BelgiumLovely location, near the nicest hiking trails of the area. Shizhuo village is downhill, but the walk up is not difficult. The owners are welcoming and kind. They helped us with everything we needed despite the language barrier, including driving us and picking us up when going to visit other places. Highly recommend this B&B for anyone looking for a calm holiday in the mountains!

AustraliaWe had a comfortable and relaxing stay. The hosts were fantastically welcoming, hospitable and very helpful. They looked after us wonderfully. The breakfasts were simple but delicious and filling. The owner's home grown tea was sensational. If you are self driving I could not think of a better place to stay in the region. There are a number of excellent walks, hikes and photo opportunities quite close by.

United StatesRooms a little stark, but common in many Taiwanese Minsus and I was there in a particularly cool spell in December- the "cold " feeling room likely a blessing during summers
Very nice hosts ( did not speak English but understood my basic Mandarin) and great breakfast and tea. Easy to find and parked our rental car right there.

New ZealandNothing of note
It’s a lot more comfortable than you would expect from the pics. Lots of the slightly more negative feedback from the past reviews appear to have been rectified - which suggests a host who cares about their guests comfort. Eg small towels - have been replaced with more standard sized towels. There were mattress heaters in our 2 rooms which was fine for us in winter. There’s a small restaurant in the immediate adjacent neighbours compound - so food is available. Plus, the host graciously offers to take you to town and back for food if needed (NTD 100 one way). His vehicle can accommodate 5 passengers. Bonus about their place is its at the higher end of the mountain - cloud trail starts literally around the corner. It’s a few hundred meters of walking up trail at the start - but after that, it’s all downhill linking all the different trails all the way to town. Real plus compared to starting in town and going UPHILL all the way. Morning brekkie was delicious - hot scallion pancakes, fresh fruit and cherry tomatoes and tea on a crisp winter morning. Bliss.

FranceThe lack of heater was a bit hard, especially during winter
We booked this hotel to be able to see the sunrise at Alishan, the hosts were welcoming and gave us advice for our journey. Room is very comfortable with a big and comfortable bed and great amenities It is quite high up in the mountains, count about 45min to go to Alishan National Forest

TaiwanThe beds for the 4-person room were big. There were basically 5 of us and we could easily fit in the room we booked. Breakfast was good especially the coffee and tea that the boss especially made. Location was great too. Very close to the cloud trail. If you need a pick up service, the boss does that too! You just have to pay a fee but compared to getting a taxi, it’s way cheaper! We enjoyed our stay here.

GermanyWhen showing, the bathroom got wet all over. Maybe I just didn't figure out the right way to shower though, but it wasn't the most comfortable shower.
Very nice couple, who runs the bed and breakfast. They were very welcoming und helpful! I really liked that it was a bit away from the main tourist places, but close to the great trails. most were right around the corner. It's a wonderful place to stay, the bed was the most comfortable on my trip yet, the breakfast was very good, the owners are tea farmers, so the tea was great in the morning. And and the restaurant right next door was great too.

Czech RepublicMy second stay here - after one year. This time for two days, so I have more time for exploration. Location is a little distant from Shizhuo village, but for me it is an advantage. It is a quiet place and great base for hiking - hills and tea gardens. Host was very nice, also recommended some places to see. Homemade breakfast was very good (and big). For dinner is necessary to go down to the village - there is a lot of options (closing time is a little bit earlier). Going by car is much more comfortable if you have more luggage. By foot from bus station/restaurants about 30 minutes (up to hill).

FranceRemote location which was great for how peaceful it was but a little harder to get around but the view on the small tea plantation was worth it. The breakfast was excellent and the host was very accommodating and tried his best to communicate with us even though he spoke little English and we do not know any Mandarin. The place was clean.

New ZealandI would have loved a bedside reading light so that I could read without the bright overhead lights on.
Relaxing and quiet, very clean and super comfy bed. Hosts were amazing friendly even though they speak no English. Great breakfast. I was able to sit on the balcony with my bento box and beer enjoying the sunset. Perfect place to relax. Leave the balcony door open at night and listen to the wildlife in the adjacent bamboo forest. It’s away from town but I had my own car so not an issue. Close to the start of the Cloud trail hike as well. The towel issue also seems to have been resolved as I was given a normal sized bath towel.

AustraliaTHe only thing we missed was larger towels for drying after a shower, but this was a minor point.
Delicious and healthy breakfast. Lovely rural location, close to walking trails and lookouts. A car is good when staying at Cuiti Guesthouse, but we noted that guests without cars were graciously assisted by the host. Our hosts were very kind, giving us their time and sharing tea preparation, jelly drinks and taking us to see fireflies at night. The family were very proficient at using translation apps to communicate. The kitchen was available for us to use and laundry facilities. The guest house was immaculately clean, hot/drinking water provided. It is very relaxing and comfortable to stay there. We drove for 2 days in a row to ALishan, and it was lovely to return to Cuiti Guesthouse at the end of the day.

AustraliaOnly a very small towel was offered - would not be adequate for us though luckily we had a travel towel.
Delightful property set in tea fields above the town. The owner was welcoming and helpful. He owns local tea farms and made us lovely oolong tea each morning with great care. We had a baloney out over tea fields and flowers to the mountains. There is no elevator but our host took our luggage up. Comfortable bed and large room. Very nice breakfast with hot option and fresh fruit and of course the tea - with coffee option too. It is a more traditional wet bathroom ( no shower screen) but good hot water and clean.

PhilippinesThey don't have big towels and the only towels they offer are small square ones.
The location of this B&B is what makes this a good option. You wake up to the sound of birds singing and everything's just so serene. You can also hike around the scenic trails around the area. When we were there, the area gets foggy/misty around noon until the afternoon so the mornings are great for taking photos. Room was clean and tidy. There was also a dehumidifier. Hosts were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great. Scallion pancakes on the first day and meat buns on the second day. They also offered us their strawberries and lantern tomatoes (a first for us!) Although I was hoping to have rice because I'm from a rice-eating country. :D We asked for tea tasting and the host also obliged. Plus, they gave us snacks made by one of their neighbors. They don't offer lunch or dinner so you have to look for it in other B&Bs in the area or by walking down the highway (which takes roughly an hour of uphill/downhill walking). You can ask the host to pick you up at the bus station or take you there after your stay. He charged us 100NTD per trip.
