Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesWe were a group of four; I had specifically booked four units of the "Bed in 4-Bed Mixed Dormitory Room" and asked the hostel management that all of us be put in the same room. Although we were put in the same room, it was a room with six beds which got occupied by strangers multiple times during our stay. Because of this we had to utilize the lockers every night before bed and every morning before heading out which caused a lot of unnecessary delay. The other major issue we had was that our room was extremely humid, to the point that every time we would get into bed the pillow and comforter both felt damp. It made it hard to sleep and did not feel pleasant.
Easy access to the Ximending district, a quick walk to the Ximen MRT station and only one stop away from Taipei Main Station. Self check-in was relatively easy as we arrived after front desk hours, and check out was just a key drop.

NetherlandsThis place is very moldy. In the rooms there was mold on the ceiling. Very humid inside which made everything smell. No windows in the room to air it out. Also showers had a lot of mold on the walls, ceiling, and floor. Super strict rules about check out, only allowed to leave bags until 5pm. No social vibe if you want to make friends this is not the place
Facilities were ok, cheap prices

NetherlandsThere is unfortunately an extreme mold issue in this hostel. The "smaller dorms" have no windows so there is nothing that can be done to refresh the humid and mold air. You can also see the mold on the walls. It was very hard sleeping in these conditions and would absolutely never return again. When taking off the bed sheets the pillow and mattrass was also dirty, could be from the mold or just sweat from other guests.
Staff is friendly. Shower has good pressure, toilets are overall clean. Bed linen that is washed by professional company and also smells clean.

QatarNothing i can think off. just as suggestion they can tie up with tour agents for free walking tour, pub crawl etc to make it memorable.
I loved the concept of the dorm and the bed layout. The hostel's cleanliness is worth mentioning. Lockers are provided for free, and the towel rental is nominal. The front desk staff was friendly and efficient. The location is unbeatable and a major highlight. The washrooms are ample and well-maintained. Slippers are available for washroom use, which is appreciated. The bed and mattress were super comfy, ensuring a good night's sleep, and the privacy at each bed is a big plus.

RussiaOn my what-supposed-to-be-a-clean bed were a couple of long black hair. The shelf was dusty. The locker didn't lock (you can open it without a key, just pull down the door a bit. The shower is mouldy, the wet concrete looks disgustingly dirty. The toilet had a poor light probably to mask the dirtiness of the place. The bed has metal frame and the mattress is short to cover it, so every time you sit on the bed, your thighs would touch cold metal. The staff can't help neither with the locker fix or with WiFi, which was almost nonexistent. They charge the same price as a super clean place near the Taipei station (it was booked out unfortunately).
The only thing that's good in this place is location. 3 mins to Ximen, 2 min to the red house, 7-eleven is right across the street. And they have an elevator. That's about all good.

AustraliaThe room was a bit dark but I was out all day so it didn't really matter.
Location is perfect for accessing Taipei broadly. You're right next to Ximen station which provides access to 2 convenient metro lines. It's also one stop away from Taipei main station, so easy HSR and airport line access. The staff were great, let me keep my luggage there for a week whilst I go around the island which is awesome.

CanadaIt was difficult at times to communicate with the staff at times due to lack of English, but they did their best. One of the staff members randomly accused me of opening a window when it was done by someone else.
This makes a fantastic budget base in Taipei. Located right in the popular Ximending tourist area, close to the metro, there are tons of shops and restaurants around. There's a convenient 7-Eleven across the street for any snacking needs. The bunk beds were comfortable, with curtains for privacy, and there was a good amount of storage space. The dorms were quiet and peaceful. The staff was polite and despite their limited English we were able to communicate. There is a small kitchen for basic food needs and the cafe area on the main floor is quaint. I didn't meet anyone during my stay and it's not a hotel conducive for that, but that wasn't my intention on this trip. Given the price and location, this is a good choice and I would return.

SpainStaff wasn't very friendly (except the old lady! She was amazing). They didn't believe me when I told them they had already charged my card (because I hadn't confirmed the arrival time?! and they didn't even text me that I HAD to confirm it before charging my) and then had to come back to apologise and tell me they did in fact charge my card. Checkout is SUPER STRICT (they charge you another night for checking out 10 minutes late!??!?!) and showers were moldy. Meh.
Central location, lots of food and shopping options nearby. Comfortable enough bed and the facilities were really modern.

Netherlands"Industrial style" shouldn't mean bad design. I fail to comprehend the brilliance of putting a door with a noisy sound effect right next to beds placed on a thoroughfare. When the hairdryers on the other side of the door cease their midnight song, you are awoken to the nine lesser bellsounds from the door improperly closed. The cot was a 6/10. Just about long enough if you're not tall and the sheets are clean even if the little shelf and the cot are less so. There are other things to mention, but this is how you are introduced to Dan hostel as you check in: There's a full night's charge if you're ten minutes late checking out, there's 200ntd charge for not taking off your linen, 500ntd for losing your key. The latter two are nearly reasonable, but it's not exactly a welcoming introduction. I wouldn't stay here again. (This following part is a seperate issue) I changed my booking from three nights to one night. I signed the bill for a refund of two nights and instead I was charged another night. The credit card app showed me I was billed four night's worth and then it locked me out. I cant withdraw anything. The receptionist helpfully produced two unsigned bills that are a "refund" and a charge for the same amount for that night. He asked if I could read.
The location is crawling distance from MRT Ximen. Mini kitchen with fridge and water.
