Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

BelgiumThere was only one window in the room that could be opened. I thought the aircon needed a bit of a clean as it was giving off a strange smell but I am quite sensitive to smells. My partner was not bothered.
We booked a room for 4 but we were only two. So it turned out to be very spacious. The decor of the room is pleasant and you get loads of snacks on the house which is very nice. The bed is big and comfortable. The shower powerful.

United StatesNothing. It was close to perfect.
Situated on the top floor of a non-assuming building, this 9 room hotel location is perfect. Located in the Zhongshan District- whereas I would liken Ximen to Broadway, Zhongshan has a Soho feel. There is a lot to do without being overwhelming. About a five minute walk to the MTR, you can walk completely underground between the Taipei Train Station to the hotel’s MTR station. The rooms are fairly large for Taipei standards. The amenities are rather boho chic and have a very up to date feel. The hotel is extremely clean. The three people on staff are constantly cleaning. I spilt a milk tea on the floor of the room. When I wiped it up the paper towel I used had no dirt on it from the floor. You have to wear provided slippers inside which makes sure the hotel stays clean. Being a one floor hotel, the laundry is located on the same floor which made it very easy to use. The staff is very friendly and very helpful.

New ZealandNice boutique hotel with very friendly and helpful staff which provided a very comfortable "home away from home" for a week. Room size was great and bathroom / shower excellent. Location is reasonable - midway between two metro stops - with a reasonable number of eating options within walking distance. Great value for money.

GermanyTucked away in a vibrant neighborhood full of dining options, this boutique hotel is perfectly located between two MRT stations, making it a convenient base for exploring. The rooms are spacious, offering a dining area and ultra-comfortable beds, alongside a large bathroom complete with a high-tech Japanese toilet. The staff here are exceptionally welcoming and go out of their way to make your stay pleasant. A unique feature is the cat room, a hit with our kids, where they enjoyed petting the resident cats. The hotel also generously provides complimentary snacks, drinks, and even face masks, a thoughtful touch that was much appreciated after our long flight. We were so taken with the hotel's charm and service that we chose to return here at the end of our Taiwan trip, even though it was a bit more expensive than our original plan. This decision speaks volumes about the hotel's ability to make a memorable impression on its guests.

Very fresh vibe, “grown up” hostel feel but rooms are private. Near lots of food options and transportation links. Appreciated the many design details and cleanliness of the place- clearly the managers/ owners took a lot of care

PhilippinesSince the hotel only occupies the 11th floor, the rest of the building is not as maintained as the hotel. Not a big issue for us though.
The hotel is conveniently located between Zhongshan and Sonjang Namjin stations and has access to malls and night markets. Our room is clean and spacious which can easily accommodate 4pax. The hosts are easy to communicate and generous to give us free snacks! :)

MalaysiaRoom is nice and enough space for 4 pax. Bathroom is spacious with 2 sink. Hotel location is a bit far from MRT station (Songjiang Nanjing Station) about 5-7 min walk (crossing 2-3 traffic light). Convenience Shop (7-11) just beside the hotel.

United StatesThe bed. Japanese style on a large platform maybe 14" off the floor that took up most of the room's floor space. It would have been betters to walk around the bed platform on the true floor. Double bed size mattress rather thin and uncomfortable b/c its literally on the floor. Staff didn't have another mattress to add but was able to add a quilt under the mattress that helped only a little. We mostly got used to it, but would not recommend a stay of more than a night or two with this set up.
We were quire satisfied with this whimsical property. Once you get past the sketchy street level entry, you find yourself at the 11th floor and all changes. Chill Roof is an eclectic and comfortable, friendly space. Very quiet. Great shower and linens, well set up bathroom. Nice touch have free, although limited mini-bar and snacks. A plus to have coin operated laundry as well. Once inside, felt secure and safe.

United KingdomThe place is on top floor with noise cancelling windows so it’s quiet for most people. Due to its very central location, there is some slight traffic noise.
The facility if full of warm personal touches from the host. Feels like home. The location is very central, close to public transportation stations. Room is spacious, snacks are great and on the house. Great hairdryer! Good choice! Glad someone understands how important that is.

SUPER comfortable pillows, comforter, and bed, slept like a baby! VERY clean and all the rooms are very stylish with their different themes. We stayed at both Room 9 and 10, and both were beautiful rooms and great! Quiet too. Staff helpful and let us leave luggage there. About 5-10 min each direction to MRT, so easy to get around. We loved the stay here, great hotel and we would come back here again and recommend it to anyone.

South KoreaThe only thing was cleanliness - there were pink rims around the sink drain in both sinks. Made me wonder if they wiped the sinks properly before we checked in, but the floors were very clean so we didn’t complain.
It was so spacious unlike other hotels in taipei, especially near this area. There was everything we were looking for: central location with stores nearby, enough space for 4 people+luggage, sunlight, good bedding, and dining table+chairs. The bathroom also had 2 sinks, it was great since we were 4 females staying in this room. Staff were nice as well.

AustraliaSome bedside lamps would have been great. It was quite dark and dim in the room, so to read before bed we had to use our phones as torches. We also didn't love the location - it was a bit of an "in between" location where you weren't particularly close to restaurants or the train station, but it wasn't too far to walk. We quite like being in areas with life at night so would maybe stay in a different area next time we are in Taipei. But overall it was fairly easy to get to, and the hotel itself was lovely.
This hotel had a really cool vibe, and best of all were the cats! They had their own room and could escape from people, so we didn't have any welfare concerns.
