One of the elevators was broken, so it took time to go up and down the building -- esp when NR occupies the top floors of the building. Location was far from the travel spots of Taichung, but it has its vibe.

I did not expect Norden Ruder to be what it says it was online. Everything is very well curated and it looks like it's taken from a Muji lookbook. My room was spacious, and the bathroom (although shared) is very clean. The common area outside the room was also a-ok. Location-wise, very near the train station but far from city center. I also like that they provided vouchers for restaurants around the area.

The space was amazing and fully furnished with all the amenities that a backpacker can ever ask for! Was really glad that I booked this place, and there are alot of restaurants, attractions and malls in the neighborhood!

I swear I can not say good enough things about this place. I loved the location with the train station being literally a 3 min walk away, with bus stops about 1 min away and multiple options of convenience stores all within a 5 min walk. There were also plenty of food options all within a stone throw away. This whole look and feel of this place was like a muji display unit with awesome lighting and view. The beds were comfy, and toilets were always impeccably clean. Perhaps I was lucky to have roommates who treasured cleanliness as well. I loved the privacy of the tiny rooms, though technically, we were just separated by 2 curtains that blocked the view of our own individual spaces. I was lucky and unlucky to been given the room with the awesome glass window. I don't sleep well in total darkness, so the light emiting in from the gaps in the blinds made it bright enough for me to fall asleep. But the morning light was kinda blinding at 5.30am (in Jul/Aug) enough to wake me up from my sleep. Not that I minded it that much. What I really really liked about this place is how they incorporated an exchange diary concept for each room, which give us the chance to read into the thoughts and feelings of those who had been in the room before us. It felt like we were given the right to look into the thoughts of others and how we were all connected in a unique way. Would love to stay here again in the future if I am even in Taichung again.

It was very clean. The room was compact and without window facing outside, but there is no funny smell (even smelled pretty nice). Perfect location, as it took only 5 minutes to walk to Taichung Station. The common area was also very comfortable.

For the twin room (two beds with bathroom in between), may as well have the doors instead of curtains. Also no door for bathroom, awkward if they are strangers.

Water dripped from the air condition, they repair immediately within the same day after we feedback to the staff.

A place that Quiet and relaxing, they provide snacks and drinks at level 12. The concept of the room designed is unique, they fully utilised each of the concerns of the floor, clean and comfortable. Most of the staffs are helpful and friendly whenever questions we posted or required clarification.

Would have been great if there was liquid detergent and a double bed for couples. The price quality balance is a bit steep for a private room.

It is very cozy and the location is ideal as a base of operations. Clean rooms, clean esthetic. The atmosphere is warm and kind. Definite plus is the balcony to dry clothes and the laundry room.

Wish the staff could speak English more rather than assuming I could speak Chinese. But staff were friendly and polite overall. Room was small for big luggage so I would strongly suggest if you to upgrade or get bigger room.

The location was very, very convenient. Easy access to the building, beautiful rooftop area to chill, near train station, walkable to busstop to bring you around Taichung, walkable distance to Carrefour supermarket, alot of common space to chill with Taichung views and near Family mart. Toilet got bidet which is great.

A bit isolated if you want to be in the more busy areas of Taichung especially for nightlife and night markets. Make sure you bring all toiletries.

If HSR is your priority: perfect location. Beautiful minimalistic and calming design, close to a Muji store. Spacious kitchen, with all things available. Spaces to rad and study. Very professional and quickly responsive staff. Bike rental available.

The window of the room didn't face outside but in the corridor. That wouldn't be such a big problem by itself but the lights were on the whole night even shining through the curtain.

- The provided voucher can be redeemed at only several cafés or shops, and not all of them are nearby. (Ice at the front desk is including, of which I was not informed when checking in) - Staffs are nice but sometimes not fully professional...I could overhear the staffs at the front desk chatting loudly, when I was in the kitchen.(And they even lower down their voices when a new guest coming for check-in lol ...Not a serious problem, but I believe it could be improved thru some training:-)
