Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

BelgiumWe had a very nice stay, property is located on an actual tea plantation which is the property of the owners. Beautiful view and comfortable room, feel like home. Owners are very kind and welcoming people. Area is very quiet, be aware that restaurants close very early, at least when it's not peak season.

SingaporeThe shower pressure is irregular and the hot water isn’t consistent.
Mr Xu is very friendly and responds promptly even prior to our stay. He gave us a ride to his homestay from the bus stop at Shizhuo and even brought us to see fireflies at night. He also went the extra mile to drop my and my elderly parents at the start of the Sunset Trail for a beautiful walk. His homestay is right next to the start of the Mist Trail and very convenient to go for treks around the area.

SingaporeAbsolutely nothing. Had the most perfect stay here.
Lovely family who were the most gracious of host during our stay here. They have been nothing but lovely during our short stay here. Picked us up from the bus stop when we arrived, helped carried our 5 heavy luggages to our room at the third floor, and provided an extra bed at no extra cost when we had informed them that we had 5 paxs despite booking a room for 4. Room was spacious even for 5 paxs but what was more amazing was the views offered from our room, which was equally, if not more breathtaking than what we had just experienced in Alishan. Mr Xu also offered to ferry us around the area, bringing us to Fengqihu in the afternoon, a nearby viewing deck to catch sunset, and to see fireflies after dinner. Breakfast provided was homely and Mr Xu even brewed us his own homegrown Oolong tea leaves for morning tea. Really glad that we made the decision to stop by Shizhao for a night and got to meet Mr Xu and his family. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a place to stay in the area. We’ll be back!

SingaporeLocation ain't friendly for people who doesn't have car. But owner is really nice to give us a lift.
The room, however it is more worth it if you going with a family. Otherwise is quite pricey. Good scenery and hiking place. The owner is very friendly and nice. The weather was very cold though so bring more clothes. Foggy(Mist) at night though. Owner is very nice to bring us to the nearby town to eat. He also send us back to the HSR chayi at a fee of TWD 1,500 (if I rmb correctly)

United StatesWe thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! This is a stay on a real oolong tea farm. The highlights of this B&B include an amazing view from our room (even better than some of Alishan’s views in our opinion), shuttles to Alishan and nearby Fengqihu by our hosts in their luxurious Benz van, and the kind generosity of our hosts. This is a humble family owned business that grows and sells their own oolong tea. Our room was very comfortable, seems newly renovated and very clean. The beds were on the firmer side. Our host drove us at 4:30am to Alishan station to catch the sunrise for a fee of $10 USD per person. He also gave us many recommendations of where to go (old streets nearby) and what to eat, and drove us there as well since many guests don’t bring a car. There is an easy hiking trail around the B&B that was honestly breathtaking- easily the most beautiful hike we’ve ever been on. The rows of teas, mountains upon mountains and cherry blossoms were beyond our expectations. The breakfast prepared by the host is a comforting rice porridge with classic side dishes that had a very homey feel. The host serves you their home grown tea- we bought several tins of tea from the B&B which were cheaper than those we bought at Alishan and taste just as great. Bring cash as they do not have a credit card reader. This stay made our trip incredibly worthwhile!

United KingdomThe beds are quite hard/firm - personal preference but too hard for me!
Tasty breakfast, kind host who gave us tea on arrival and drove us to a nice spot to view the sea of clouds at sunrise. Nice location among the tea fields.

SingaporeBeware of steep slope to hse (looks like a 40 degree slope)& spiral staircases to your room I dont recommend this place at all - Owner said cannot flush tiolet paper down tiolet bowl, must throw on the bustbin, even the faeces covered ones ! Very unpleasant lady owner. In fact, Owner was rude, at check in , literally said we didnt do our "homework" as we took uber to her place and that she provided them too. I thought she meant she provided free. Upon asking her she said shd charges 2.5k while my uber drive charges 2.2k. So, i think she meant we didnt do our homework to gv her more biz !! Really rude. Lastly, there was cold porridge as part of breakfast and there was additional protein in the porridge as a dead fly was found there. The utensils were also not clean and we had to ask the owner to help us wash them before we used it.

AustraliaThe room was very basic in a converted space under a driveway, and we think near where some of the family live so quite noisy. The beds were very hard.
Great location -- easy to access the town and walking trails by foot, and Alishan National Recreation Area by car. The family were friendly and open to using google translate to communicate.

SwitzerlandThe room itself was spacious and featured two large beds. However, the mattresses were extremely firm—uncomfortably so. Additionally, the room could not be heated, which was a significant issue given the January nighttime temperatures of 10-12°C. While electric blankets were provided, they either didn’t work at all or were insufficient. We were then given a heat lamp, but it was so bright that it made sleeping impossible. For the high price we paid, the quality of the room was far below expectations. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this B&B based on our experience.
Very friendly staff and beautiful surroundings. All the people were very friendly and welcoming.

SingaporeView from the lower room only has one window and is facing the road. Upper floor rooms are better. Big street light shining in at night. Beds are rock hard. Shower vacillates from boiling hot to freezing cold - stressful shower. Breakfast is basic and repeats the following day - tea and coffee only available upon request.
Good location and host were friendly. Heating in the room.

SingaporeA little pricey, but perhaps reasonable for accommodation around that area. I was shocked by the run down state at first floor where the owner stay. But it was a different world at the top levels.
Owner was friendly and the view from the room was amazing.
