Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyOnly one thing, but a minor one. If you are coming from the central station by foot with heavy luggage, it may be a little bit tricky, as the sidewalk constantly changes the height, so there will be some luggage tugging over small steps. But hotel can't do anything about the street. So it is more of a heads up to fellow travelers to preferably take the opposite side of the street and then cross at the last traffic lights before the hotel, as the sidewalk is a bit more even there.
Amazing place to stay in Taichung. The hotel is modern and extremely clean. The view I had from one of the top floors was also great. The team at the reception was very friendly and helpful. There is a ton of tea shops and restaurants near the hotel. Also the central station is reachable within 5 minutes by foot, so a great spot to stay at if you are planning to explore the sights like Sun Moon Lake etc. for a day trip as most buses start from the train station. Definitely some of the best value for money.

SingaporeCan work on cleanliness of certain areas in the room, spotted some spider web from the top of the shower head and had to clear it before I use it. Would be better if more hangers can be provided.
Location of hotel is near mall and station. There's also alot of food choices around. The bed was very comfy. Staff were also very helpful.

AustraliaThe room was really clean and enough space for two. Everything worked well including the AC, TV, lights, small fridge. It was also really good that the toilet had a bidet and the provided all basic amenities. Close to Taichung station, around 5~10min walk, and with convenient store and milk tea shops really closeby. It was quiet during the night too and the receptionist were very kind and responsive. I would visit here again!

IsraelNA - a wonderful stay!
This was the perfect place to arrive after a long travel day! The bed was so comfortable and the whole room was very stylish and modern. One small detail that I loved - controls for all of the lights in the room were located behind the headboard so that you could easily turn lights on and off from bed. The included breakfast was also fantastic. I am vegetarian and shared that when I checked in. The staff really went out of their way to make sure I had plenty to eat - indicating which dishes were safe for me and providing special vegetarian steamed buns for me the two mornings I had breakfast.

Old School hotel absolutely exceeded our expectations. The room was clean and comfortable with a lovely view out over the city. The location was wonderful, with easy access to sights, food and public transportation. And the staff went absolutely above and beyond in helping us with our stay. Eden in particular made calls for us to help us with future lodging because we don't speak Mandarin or Taiwanese, and it was so wonderful to have the assistance of someone so competent and friendly. She made our vacation in Taiwan so much better. And all of this for a very reasonable price! I would wholeheartedly recommend staying at Old School Hotel (called Central Land Hotel on Booking), and I would stay there again if I were to return to Taichung.

SingaporeThe room was a little smaller than expected and slightly cramped. The floor, table and shelves were also quite dusty. We asked them to clean it up the next morning and it was much better. The housekeeping team forgot to clean our cups though and we came back to cups that still had leftover drink in them.
The beds and blankets were very comfortable. The staff were very nice as well. The breakfast was simple but delicious. Water pressure from the shower was good and the toilet was a decent size. The location was not bad, about 8min walk from the Taichungn TRA station. There's many many bubble tea shops nearby too. The lobby design was very chic and clean.

AustraliaThis is a fine hotel which feels very new. Everything is nice and clean, the staff are very professional and friendly. The room, while a little compact, has all the usual amenities, with great city views from the window. It is particularly well located, only a couple of blocks from the train station.

Cool building, inside and out.Very modern design of the lobby and the room. Our room was 1208. The bathroom was excellent. I loved the tile colour, nice grey. We could open the window. There was a view to the huge shopping complex La La Port. Not far from the hotel there was Taroko Mall. And on the other side a park, where we took morning walks. The room was comfortable so was the bed. Very close from the train station. Breakfast was preordered and tasty.
