Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThere was no common room of any kind. A space besides the kitchen where guests could relax would have been nice.
My room was spacious with a good-sized bathroom area. I booked a private double room although I was on my own but the space was big enough for two. Sound proofing was reasonably good, given that there is a busy road very close by. The bed was comfortable and I also had a desk and chair and a fridge.

SwitzerlandIf you take a shower you will end up with a lake in the whole bathroom. The room is not very soundproof so you hear cars and people from the street as well as the people in the room next door talking.
The location of the hostel is great near the mrt and a big bus station. Easy, cheap and uncomplicated.

AustraliaThere are busy peak hours for washing machines and dryers to wash my dirty clothes. Lucky, i am in a single room and able to hang my laundry in the bathroom for air dry.
Once you get there, you will find everything you need on the same street. Including international banks for foreign currency exchange. Plus only 5 minutes walking distance; you will find the most famous bakery shops to buy pineapple shortbread cakes.

United KingdomIf you have a bunk, towels are not provided (it does not say this online from what I can see, but very inconvenient when you don't have a towel. They're also not for rent either). The lady behind the desk did give us one after some persuasion, but definitely worth noting if you plan on staying here. The locks on the door were very noisy when people were inputting the code. Nothing to do with the hostel, more the clientele. They were very loud and operated on bizarre hours. You'd have people coming in from a shower at 1am and making noise. People would be up and down at 4am, in and out of the rooms with the noisy lock. As I said, nothing at all to do with the hostel itself, but we noticed that every new guest we had in the bunk below us (a new guest every night for 4 days) was up and about at strange times making noise and causing disruption. Pillows in the room were miserable. Also a very strange policy of making your own bed when you arrive. Not a huge problem if you arrive at 2pm, but if you're arriving late at night or early morning after a flight and want to rest.....not ideal.
Friendly staff. Amazing location for the MRT. Nice spacious lockers to secure your items. Doors to each room had a card lock/codes lock.

United StatesWe are older now and climbing up from the lower bunk bed was not easy any more.
Breakfast was not provided. We bought our own soybean milk and pancake breakfast at the shop nearby. Delicious and reasonable! We went there three days in a row! There are so many options for meals in walking distance. The buses and train in one block can take you to many places you want.

AustraliaAll is good
Hostel Jiizu is located in Songshan District. This area has won the 模範社區獎 ('Role Model District') for its clean streets, safety, and good public facilities. You will see there are hardly any hotels in this area due to the government restricting the 八大行業 ('8 big industry like pubs, nightclubs, sauna/spa etc.') in Songshan District. We stayed in air conditioned 2-single bed standard room on Level 3. There are windows in the bathroom. The bed is firm which we liked. Beddings are soft and comfy. Amenities provided include bottled water, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toothbrushes, toothpaste, slippers, razor and a comb. There are fridge, kettle and TV in the room. On the same level there is a coin-operated washing machine and dryer. We didn't use the Wifi as we got a Sim Card with unlimited data (all mobile providers charge the same and can be easily purchased on arrival in Taoyuan International Airport). We especially like the daily housekeeping (including replacing towels and sheets) which you might not get in a typical hostel. There are also umbrellas at the level 1 counter for guests to borrow. Nearby shops: ChiaTe 佳德 (our favourite are Pineapple Pastry & Red Bean Glutinous Rice Cake (contains pork floss) - Start queuing early!! IJySheng 一之軒(our favourite are mochi) If you can, although its not nearby, please try Sugar & Spice 糖村 nougats!! The taste and texture are out of this world!!
