Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Rooms were small but cozy. Location is very good, like 3-4 mins walk from MRT. Breakfast was very average with no option of cereals, etc. Free massage chairs is an added benefit. Was not a great value for money for the price I paid.

Continental Breakfast spread very limited. Poor room sound insulation especially when there are large groups of kids running around the common areas...

Although the breakfast is included but for long stays will feel bore.
Compare with my last visit, they have improved with mosquito traps to reduce mosquito in the room, replaced the washing machine/dryer and massage chairs.

Not a very 'social' hostel, at least in the communal area.
Room was comfortable. Free massage chairs available. Breakfast nice. Location close to MRT station.

Could have provided tables around the guest lounge where we can eat or write.
The hostel is next to a Poya store, so it was very convenient for travelers to get emergency supplies such as towels, undergarments, snacks, and other amenities that the hostel didn't provide. The nearest MRT station was also within walking distance. Plenty of food places nearby. The free breakfast wasn't fancy, but I was happy with the basics (considering the room's price). The washing machine and dryer are free to use. (Only 10NTD for detergent)

The AC setting was quite warm for me.
Having no prior experience to bunk accommodations, I really have no expectations at all. But having been at Hotel Fun was great for my first time. The room was spacious and so was the bed. Location is superb as it is very convenient for commuters.

The shared shower and bathroom are ok but could be cleaned more regularly.
The hotel location is pretty convenient and the breakfast was pretty good with lots of selections, with the price I paid. I would like to try other room options next time.

Could be cleaner (especially under the beds), AC noise, not enough space/surfaces to put your stuff, limited view through the window.
Pool table, massage chairs, nice breakfast buffet. Although it is a hostel, the guests were very respectful and quiet. Location was great close to a very lively area and to a metro station.

The most happening place in Taipei is Ximen District. This is about a 30 min journey from there by bus / train. And about 20 mins by taxi. The breakfast there could do some overall. It’s mostly traditional Taiwanese Breakfast - which foreigners might not prefer. An English breakfast in addition to the Taiwanese would be nice. The rooms are quite small. And there are no cupboards there. Neither a safe to store valuables. Bed size is also small (myself being 6 ft 2 inch) - I would easily take up most of the bed so I don’t think there’s enough room for two people to sleep comfortably. They also need to get a proper iron with an ironing board. Currently they only have a steam iron, which isn’t necessarily the best option if you’re wanting to iron formal clothes.
Very good value for money. Pretty close to the train station, bus stop and grocery store. Laundry is free. They have a common room sort of a place and a snooker table.

No storage room near the shower to keep your changing clothes near and dry.
In the dorm room you have your one capsule with curtains. A little bit of storage room for your bag and in the Commonroom there are massage chairs for free use

Breakfast was really bad. It's very, very bad. Every day, hair came out of it. We were sick to our stomachs. I think this breakfast should be corrected urgently, otherwise it will seriously lower the hotel's score
The hotel was nice and close to the metro. The room was comfortable and the free massage chair was good. Staff were helpful
