Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SingaporeWe didn't book more nights here! 😢 Will definitely be back to visit again.
The owners of the homestay were super friendly and helpful, going the extra mile to recommend and even help us plan our itinerary. The homestay was also very clean and simply, tastefully decorated. the room was styled in a Japanese way, with a nice corner to drink tea. Bed and pillows were comfortable and we had a very good night's sleep. The location of the homestay was also very convenient, short walk to Anping Old Street for local delights. The homestay owner even sent us a list of recommended places to eat, and all were superb. All of us really enjoyed ourselves.

TaiwanNothing
Have rarely met a host so helpful and kind. Everything is in pristine condition, and the breakfast was great. Very homely atmosphere. Very close to all the best places in Anping. Very good AC, fan, and hair dryer for those who know this important in Tainan.

United StatesNothing - it was all good.
This hotel is one of the best hotels we have stayed in during our travels in Taiwan. The room was comfortable and clean. The hosts were exceptional! We were treated like family. They helped us get our luggage up to our room and gave us a bigger room on a lower floor to make it easier for us. They walked us to a recommended restaurant where we could order the special regional dish of beef noodle soup and then helped us order it. Breakfast was good. There is a nice communal area on the first floor where we chatted with another couple and exchanged Taiwan travel stories and tips with them and the host. The hosts don't speak much English, but with the help of Google translate and the other couple, we had no trouble communicating. The location is very good - easy walking around the Anping District of Tainan. We would highly recommend staying here and will do so again if we travel back to this area.

SwitzerlandThe host/owners couple is super helpful and very friendly. They gave me a lot of ideas of what to do, and went out of their way to serve me vegetarian breakfast. The Japanese style rooms and the entire house are sparkling clean. I like the location a lot; it's surrounded by different historical buildings; its full of life, yet at night very quiet. I would anytime come back again.

United StatesWe enjoyed the room that we stayed in! It has a comfy and specialized longer bed (which is not too common to come across), a nice dry/wet separated bathroom, and good quality sound-proof windows that keep the room quiet. The place is sparkling clean with a modern and minimalistic touch, and every detail in the house is considerably arranged. The hosts were very hospitable and took good care of us! The place is also conveniently close to major attractions in 安平 - a lot of them in walking distance - and it's easy to get around with the city bikes.

HungaryEverything was perfect
The place is managed by an amazingly nice, friendly young couple. The building has been recently built (in 2023), everything is brand new and extremely clean. The place is right in the old center of Anping, in a small street, no traffic. From the balcony you can see the marina, and directly opposite the building there is a Buddhist temple which is illuminated at night and offers an incredible view from the room. The host does not speak English, so we used Google Translator Voice. It was funny at the beginning, but then it worked perfectly. We had long conversations about local traditions, culture, gastronomy and the general situation in the country. It was a beautiful experience like living with a family or friends. I loved this place and Tainan especially because of the kindness of the people.

United StatesThat we couldn't stay longer!
This was our favorite lodging during our 3 week stay in Taiwan! Here are several reasons why: 1. Our hosts. The owner and his wife are some of the kindest and most generous people we have met. The owner is a 3rd gen Tainanese and graciously shares his knowledge about the area with suggested itineraries and what and where to eat. He would ask us every evening what we wanted for breakfast and then go out early in the morning and buy everything and bring it back to the minsu for us. One time, we mentioned we were a bit tired and would take a nap. When we woke up and went downstairs, we found a delicious mochi snack waiting for us, courtesy of the owner! 2. Location, location, location. It's a 2-4 min walk to four of the most visited sites in Tainan: the Anping Old Fort, the Anping Kaitai Tianhou Temple, the Tait & Co. Merchant House with the Anping Tree House and finally, Anping Old Street. 3. Parking. We had a car and the free parking was 30 feet away from the minsu entrance! 4. Peaceful and relaxing. Both the owner and his wife studied design and it shows in all the of the beautiful, simple, loving touches they added to the common area and rooms. I particularly liked the photography books and my daughter, who also studied design, loved the wife's playful, whimsical drawings. When we left, the wife generously gifted one of her drawings to my daughter! 5. Super clean and newly built (I believe around June 2023). It's like staying at an unpretentious 5-star hotel, lovely room with fabulous bed, sheets, towels, bathroom, etc., and on top of that you're treated like family. Finally, last but definitely not least, our hosts give back to their community. They often host free classes at the minsu. The husband enjoys photographer and has taught kids how to develop film; the wife loves drawing and has hosted many different types of art classes. We loved our hosts and we loved our stay at 日日和!

United KingdomOur host and hostess could not have been nicer and more welcoming. We felt like family. The breakfast, lovingly cooked by our hostess, was up with the best English breakfast we've ever had! The room was great; spacious, modern, immaculately clean and. to top it off, we had a lovely view of the old temple just opposite.
