Great affordable hotel with free laundry and snacks. A breakfast buffet is included for one night and snacks and drinks are available 24/7. There is a smoke smell that returns occasionally, which gets better when the air conditioner is running.

All is great! It might be just me but I somehow smell like smokey not sure if it’s Chinese herbal or something and I’m just not comfortable a bit about it but overall it’s a good stay and I recommend!

This is a good stay! Very near KHH station, place is clean, staffs are all nice, buffet breakfast is good. We enjoyed our stay here!!!

The food variety of breakfast buffet is good enough by Taiwan standard but the most disappointing thing is the temperature of the food, which needs to be seriously improved — the hot dishes are mostly of slight temperature and some are even cold ! The coffee machine is out of service !

Great location but there are three Hotel Royal within walking distance from each other. You may ended up on the wrong one or booked one and given another, check address before confirming to make sure you got the right one you pay for.

I like the place.not so far from train station The room is good The food have different variety everyday. You can have snack and coffee at night and specially to the lady who assist in canteen area. She is so hospitable. I will recommend this hotel.

The area is very loud and the room smelled like cigarettes, despite being a smokeless room.

The hotel is very close to the main station, which is very convenient for short stays. It was also a very nice accommodation in general.

The bed was too soft. So I lifted it up and leaned it against the wall and slept on the box springs.

First thing we encountered was toilet bowl drainage was easily blocked by tissues! (Got to wait for staff to clear! ). Next, after shower the toilet floor was flooded with water. In addition, room and corridor was polluted with smell of cigarette. Hotel tried to clear the smell with some kind of spray, which unfortunately produced another kind of suffocating smell! Worst of all, the beddings were not clean ! There was an additional sheet separating the quilt cover and bed sheet, which suggested the quilt cover was NOT changed. The feeling of unhygiene was most disgusting!

Second review. Place was so mice, I went back to stay again. It is where I will stay again if I make it back to Kaohsiung. Very nice. Breakfast buffet was very good too. Good food and great selection.

This is my 5th hotel in the city of Kaohsiung. Best one hands down. Clean and new. Very nice bathrooms. Modern look and it was in a great location for my needs. Night market just a couple blocks over and plenty of shops. Great price. This is one guy's opinion.
