A little difficult to find with Google map, make sure u look at the instructions sent by the owner. Need to walk quite some staircases before reaching, so make sure u leave luggages at ruifang station luggage storage place. Pity seeing others dragging luggages up n down the narrow stairs.

Light from the main room shone right into our bedroom. A mall blind but it didn’t do much. We turned off the light but some guests turned it back on, would be good to have a sensored light.

It is not accessible by car. I have to drop at the main road and walk down to the hostel. Not recommended if you are carrying huge luggage but its good for backpacker

The room is small and cozy. The staff is very attentive and provided detailed procedures to check in and also nearby places for sightseeing. The room is sound proof too.

I wish the directions and signage to old down was easier to navigate. For older folks, keep in mind there's lots of stairs to get to old town and the bed and breakfast–but it's about a 5-10min walk.

There was no table for me to use my laptop

You can buy their breakfast for 150TWD, which I highly recommend, but do note that the breakfast place is a short walk from the hotel (if you choose to dine in the shop). There's a sign asking tourists to take note of showering time because of limited hot water, but I did not experience any shortage of hot water so I guess that's fine.

It's very quiet in the lodging, the room is super clean, and everything is self-help and self-explanatory. We didn't meet any staff, since we arrived after 5pm. Even though it's quiet, it's just a few mins away from the Old Town area, so it's very convenient. One word of caution: it's a mountain town with lots and lots of stairs, come with comfy shoes!

Very cute and cosy hotel, a little difficult to find initially but we missed some of the signs in the village :) The room was not very big, but nicely decorated with all amenities. Self check-in very convenient and easy.

The property only supplies tea as a complimentary beverage in the room, but we would have loved to have coffee.

If you have a lot of rolling luggage, it is a bit of a twisty road to go up.

Twilighthouse was amazing! The rooms were thought out very well. They have a nice design and especially loved the added bonus of things like extra towels, shoe warmer, charging ports, etc. Staff was extremely helpful and gave tons of information through Line.

I wish I stayed longer

This has been by far the best homestay experience I've gotten in Taiwan, let me explain why: 1) full Bilingual service: even if my Chinese is very good, they went out if their way to make the whole service in English, including instructions in the rooms etc. 2) location: to be honest, I'm a bit chubby and i can't really take stairs that much, but even for me and my bad health condition you could get to the old street in 5 mins going down the stairs. 3) pre-stay service: they ask you to add their LiNE so that they can communicate with you throughout. They send you videos on the many ways of accessing the Twilight house and give you all kinds of instructions. They even have videos they share so you can visualize how to arrive to the place. So even for someone visiting for the first time, they can feel assure they won't get lost. 4) Room: I stayed in their "smallest" room since i was traveling alone, the room was great, well designed, well illuminated with natural and artificial light, the bed and pillows are super comfortable and the linens used on the bed and towels are top notch. Cleanliness and attention to detail is everything. Room had hot and cold water, air conditioner, dehumidifier, smart tv with internet and if you have an Android phone like me... You can cast your favorite movies from your Netflix or Disney plus. They give you free tea and cookies and you have access to cold and hot water and a mini fridge as well. 4) the staff: The owner was actively checking on you making sure all was ok with you and your room. The in house staff was so kind and made an excellent job. Oh i have to write this, the towels smell so nice you can tell how hard the staff works to give you the best 5) transportation: they can arrange for a taxi to take you to the Twilight house or to the train station and more with super accesible price, and you can tell they are helping locals for their business.

We were disappointed to find that our room did not have any view at all. Also two minor points: Firstly, it is a bit hard to get there - but that's the same for basically all of Jiufen. Secondly, you couldn't flush the toilet paper - that's also the same in all of Jiufen, however, it was an uncomfortable combination with a bin without lid and the fact that there was no cleaning service between our two nights.

We liked the vibe of the room with the colors and paintings. The room feels bigger than it is. Also the location is close to the Old Street. Contact via Line was helpful.

Getting in was a nightmare since the path is up to the house is misleading. Also our room did not have window, which made things really difficult as we had to keep the door open all the time and even that was not enough, also there wasn't enough space for anything in the room. Another major problem was that there was only one blanket, though in order for the staff to give us a second one we had to pay extra.

- not exact location given on booking.com, you have to follow YouTube videos to find the place. Not a good experience since you need enough data to follow the video. I don’t like to watch a video to find the location. Exact location given would be much easier. - line account is necessary to receive needed information. - communication, payment by video and check-in was a nuisance - room quite small (smaller than was told in booking)

+ good location with a view on the village, quiet (not directly a street at the house) + clean o bed is ok, but too short for tall people

I understand that they have very few rooms and the staff cannot stay at the premises the whole time. However, the check in process and times could be a bit more flexible, provided that we have to wait for a few minutes until the staff appears after we inform them that we have arrived. The shower drain didn't work properly.

The place was clean and the room had a reasonable size. The views from that spot were ok.
