We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyI personally would have liked a shelf on every unit inside, so that you could put your stuff and close the suitcase, so that not everything is on the ground.
Returning customer, everything perfect, clean, comfy. Very good ventilation because of the space on the ceiling of every little unit. I liked the breakfast and also the dinner was a nice add on.

Really like the bed and facilities. The atmosphere is perfect for a good night rest. People keep their voice down.

AustraliaThe biggest let down...Noise from other people, being inconsiderate People had their phones receiving messages all the time because they didn't turn the sound off the phone Other people made long phone calls in the rooms and you can hear it loudly. It's not the fault of the hotel, but the people who don't follow rules. People walking loudly, when you can walk without making a noise People slamming doors. So all of this made the place a let down.
Location was good, minutes from the MRT station and shops and markets Breakfast was included

Great value in Taipei! The rooms are tiny but you do get a room to yourself. Rules require everyone to be quiet while in their room so you can relax after a long day of exploring. The price is very affordable compared to other accommodations in Taipei. The hotel is located just a 10 minutes walk from the blue MRT line.

SingaporeI was disappointed with the room layout. I was expecting to have an individual room with a single bed but instead it was one large space with thin walls separating the bed areas and the front wall where the door is doesn't go all the way to the ceiling. This means that even when your door is closed you can still hear others and you can see who is in their room with the lights shining through the top. It is forbidden to speak on the phone in the 'rooms' because it is disruptive which means I only slept in my room and wasn't able to use it when using my phone or speaking with family. The property itself is really quite old and especially the bathrooms are quite neglected. Overall, I think the stay wasn't bad and there were many things I liked about this hostel, however, since I was expecting to have a single room and instead had a bed with separators instead of walls? I'm not sure how else to explain, the room was also smaller than I thought it would be based on the pictures so at times it was a little hard to get ready when I needed to take out a few things from my suitcase. Also, they advertised the public bath/ hot tub but it was out of order the entire week I was there which was a shame. There is only one plug socket in each room, so bear this in mind if, like me, you like to charge both power bank and phone at the same time overnight. It was fair for the price but I think next time I'd prefer to pay more elsewhere.
I really loved the breakfast here. It was convenient and simple to figure out given that I don't speak any Mandarin. They served warm toastie sandwiches, fruit, a small salad and hot drinks on week days. On Sunday they served a hot breakfast and I was able to try some local specialities/ foods I hadn't tasted before (I don't think I would have thought to try fish floss otherwise and I ended up really enjoying it). In the evenings they also offered snacks/ supper (green lentil soup in my case) which was a very nice extra. The staff was nice and the process of checking in/ out was very straightforward despite my language barrier. I felt safe staying here and the area around the hostel was nice and quiet in a residential area and I never encountered any problems even when coming back late as a solo female traveller. It is around 7-minute walk from the nearest MRT station so travel around Taipei was easy.

TaiwanRooms had a .8m gap above end wall leading out onto corridor. Easy for anyone to reach over to take jackets etc from only hanging point. Noise and smells were not stopped at all. Sliding door did not seem secure but with the large gap above it was pretty irrelevant. Only 1 power point and no USB sockets in room. Room was exact length of bed, with 1m space alongside to get in and out. Did not use any of the facilities as I only stayed 1 night.
Staff were great. Very helpful with good English. Cheap. Close to metro. Area felt comfortable and secure.

Hong KongThe 'rooms' are not entirely enclosed so it is not for those who need security and privacy. The ventilation and wifi connection in the room is not good.
The breakfast is good and there are some good 'breakfast shops' in the neighbourhood as well. The hostel is close to the city metro and train stations so it is quite a convenient place to stay for single travelers. The laundry is cheap.

PortugalThere are only two toilets and two showers. It was fine, but if all rooms are booked I’m not sure if it would be complicated to use the bathroom.
Perfect spot for solo travellers. Has its independent sector for females and males (even the elevator). The rooms are separate and very convenient. You have everything you need - shampoo, soap, facial cleanser. Very good. No one can make noise in the rooms - it’s a rule. So for a hostel, this is very important. You have your sleep and no one messes up with it.

PolandIt was rather a box than a room, as there wasn't even a full wall between the room and the corridor (there was a huge gap between the wall and the ceiling). Unfortunately this made it almost impossible to sleep, as I could hear every step taken outside. There were earplugs provided though, so maybe it would be ok for people, who can use them. The bathroom and toilet could have been cleaner.
The room was clean. It was equipped with a TV. The towels and pajamas were provided. The personnel were friendly. Everything seemed new.

United KingdomWay too hot. THERE IS NO AC, THEY SHOULDN'T ADVERTISE THERE IS. It's a shared AC in a corridor with 10 other rooms. Insanely loud. Can hear everyone around you. It's more of a hostel than a hotel. Crazy humid and hot.
Location is the only good thing about the place.
