Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Singapore+No power outlets on the counter/table +A little hard to get to without a car, but at least it's pretty close to a bus stop
+Great view right outside the room +Dinner prepared by the host was really good, there were local dishes made using local ingredients (NTD500 per person) +The host organizes firefly viewing trips together with nearby BNBs (NTD200 per person), where they provide transport to and fro a protected firefly area. Highly recommend participating because there's really nothing else to do in the area.

SingaporeNo, sunrise is not exactly beautifully seen as sunset😁
Fiona cooks an excellent dinner. Breakfast may look limited, but can ask for seconds. Location is close to the bus stop on the way to Fenchihu. Sunset from a nearby pavilion is stunning.

SingaporeWe didn't know there was a bus stop just outside the B&B. This bus stop is unmarked on maps and only known to locals. So we dropped off in town and climbed the very steep hill with our luggages to check in.
Breakfast was delicious. The place is near some of the quieter trails and made for very good morning walks. The place overlooks tea plantations and is quiet restful. The sunset was gorgeous as the place is high enough to be able to see the sea of clouds in the evening. Host went out of the way to drop us off in town for lunch, and gave excellent directions to trails and to take the bus back to Chiayi.

United StatesBath room could use an update. Adjacent Tea factory jumble up the otherwise facility's neat entrance.
Decent B&B close to Alishan Forrest, Fengihu, and Shizhao's various trails. Decent clean room. Very healthy breakfast cooked by the receptionist, with vegetables picked from the garden next to the facility. Close to the 169 observatory (walk up the ram) where you can view the beautiful sunset. Very close to 中興製茶所 李健誠 初晨 CHU CHEN handmade tea where we viewed the spectacular cherry blossoms (end of Feb).

NetherlandsWe were warmly welcomed by the friendly owner. The hotel is centrally located in Alishan. It's a 10 minutes drive to Fengiyu and 45 minutes drive to Alishan National Forest Recreation Area. It was great to watch both sunrise and sunset from the hotel. The view during breakfast was amazing!

United StatesNothing- it was great!
We loved our stay at SunRise 23.5N! The location is perfect- close to nearby hiking trails and Alishan National Park and within easy walking distance to local eateries. The breakfast at the hotel was lovely and we paid for the dinner one night as well and loved it! The surroundings are so peaceful and the staff was super friendly. We wish we could have stayed longer!

United StatesThe dinner in our opinion was a bit pricey per person compared to what you could get if you went down to the town center down the hill. But for convenience, it makes sense! However you may not know what you're eating until you arrive. Note if you don't have a car, the walk to the town center is downhill and can be dangerous at night with cars passing by and fog covering the mountains from time to time. Be careful and maybe stop by 711 on the way in to make sure you have snacks/beverages.
Everything was wonderful! This spot was an amazing alternative to staying in the Alishan center or Fenqihu center. We were looking for a smaller, quieter spot to stay in to end our trip, and this was exactly that. The town center is about a 2-3 minute drive downhill and is lovely, with many nice restaurants to stop by (and a shabu shabu spot down the road!). Alishan forest was about a 45 minute car ride from the hotel which was perfect for a day trip for us. Fenqihu was only a 10-15 minute drive which was incredible, too. We stopped by there to hike a bamboo forest, get a bento box, and wander around for an hour (it's really small, you need no more than 2-3 hours max here). The sunrise here is also wonderful. We got up every morning and watched it rise over the mountains and looked down at the tea plantation below. If you walk to the bus station, you can get to the stairway that leads down into the tea garden. Super cool and picturesque. I will say, if you DO NOT have a car, this may not be the best option for you if you're not comfortable/confident using taxis/buses. But if you do have a car, this spot could not be any better. We had our own parking spot too. We rented a car through Hertz from Tainan and ended our rental in Taipei at the airport. If you're worried about driving here as an American, it's really not that bad, just be sure to get an intl drivers license!! The staff were extremely kind and welcoming. Breakfast was delicious. The room was spacious and comfortable and looked like the photos. Cable TV to watch which was nice, as there isn't much to do in the town after the sun sets, especially if you don't have a car.

AustraliaIt was the best stay out of our taiwan travels! The location was great, close enough to Shizhuo (tea plantations and local trails), and also just a 10-minute bus ride to Fenqihu. Even Alishan is just a 40-minute bus ride away. The hostess, Qiuhua, was excellent. She was very helpful and gave us all the information we needed to get to places. Without her help, we would not have gotten to and from places like Fenqihu and Alishan via public transport. She was also a great help with giving us local tips. We enjoyed the meals she made! She's made our stay very memorable. Highly recommend SunRise 23.5N B&B.
